How can I tell if the repeated word is the subject or an object? it's hard to identify

It's simple. First put the given question in 2 parts, like you would do to identify the repeating word. Then, in the second part of the sentence, determine if the repeated word is subject or object. It works every time!

A subject is the person, place, or thing that performs the action (verb). A noun or pronoun can be used as the object in a sentence. An object is the person, place, or thing that receives the action.

The subject is followed by a verb whereas the object comes after the verb. It is easy to identify. For example : Elle m’a donné le livre. Le livre est long. In the first sentence, the book is the object- it would change to : Le livre qu’elle m’a donné est long.

13:52 It should be que and not qui as que means whom and qui doesn’t. We should go by the meaning. Also see that the blank is followed tu and qui is always followed by a verb.
