    sandra izbasa just did the exact same thing in floor finals at the olympics. 2.5 twist to front half tucked to hands on last pass. in the same arena. even the same corner i think. uncanny.

    In retrospect, I wonder if Valeri developed her correctly. She seemed like a power gymnast who he forced into the Nastia mold with all that twisting and rebounding with difficult twisting acrobatics. I think she had the build to do double/doubles, double layouts, full-in/outs, etc. Injuries are common in gymnastics, but I think twisting elements tend to lead to the career-ending kind.

      Seems Valeri only knows one mould. Look at what happened with Ohashi…

    Rebecca was robbed. She is one of the best. Made mistakes ALWAYS at the worst time but her gymnastics is totally unique, strong, difficult and very exciting to watch. She’s a gold medalist in my book 🥰

      She was good, but lacked artistry in all levels. Not very pleasing to watch for this reason.

      She was very good, but incredibly inconsistent. She was the one who robbed herself- many times. By the beginning of 2011 I had a strong feeling her chances of making the Olympic team were not very good.

    Silver is silver! It is awesome! Rebecca's performances were very good! Her UB and BB made me speechless. She was an amazing silver medalist in 2009! Very cool 😭

    A 12,875 for a worlds AA FX. Just because of her “fall “?
    I think she is way underscored. The judges didn'nt want her to win with this mistake. I think so.

    @dhube Rebecca is neither artictic nor super graceful and she is kinda robotic. But that's not why she lost to Bridget. She lost because of the fall and not because of her lack of artistry. Of course she will never be an artistic gymnast a la Bogi or (now) Mustafina and I will always prefer artistry. But she's a tough girl, a fighter and I absolutely respect her for that and I think it's too early to say wether she will be a contender for 2012 or not. I'll be hard but a lot can happen in 2 years

    Good lord... I mean I understand the fall and the score suffering as a result, but a 12. 875?! THAT is WAY to harsh. Hell most people with 2 falls in their routines dont even get that low.

  • @pedrojorge1912
    @pedrojorge1912 2 года назад +1

    The problem wasn't only the fall, she accumulated too much deductions through the routine. If she had clean landings, form and dance elements like Bridget, Lauren and Ana, she would've won, even with a fall.

    Same fall that Aliya mustafina had in 2011 American cup same as Sandra Izabas 2012 London this pass is really hard though they all do 2.5 to 1 straight and non of them ever fell mayde it is a cursed pass🤔

    • @dougkile7075
      @dougkile7075 3 года назад

      I don’t think it’s cursed lol I think it’s just a very difficult pass, and very easy to mess up the timing on the rebound

    I think she deserved to be the 2009 world champ, too bad she had that little fall but I think she'll be the 2010 world champ.

  • @HieuVo-bf2ph
    @HieuVo-bf2ph 12 лет назад +1

    Falling like that is at least 0.5 in deduction if not up to 0.8. Let's not forget that FX is the most deductible of the apparatus' because one tiny step is 0.1. She had steps and slide backs in a lot of her tumbling passes. She also touched the floor during her fall which invokes at 0.3 deduction.

    I think it’s clear that if she had not fallen on the punch front half, Rebecca Bross would have been the 2009 World All-Around Champion. That being said, I think that even with that title, she still would have struggled with injuries and inconsistency and would not have made the 2012 Olympic team. Rebecca Bross always seemed to be in a precarious situation for one reason or another. It really sucks considering how hardworking she was and how difficult her routines were. She deserved much better results.

    • @saragrant9749
      @saragrant9749 Год назад

      Inconsistency would definitely have kept her off, even without the knee injury for sure. By 2012 we just had too many far more consistent gymnasts.

    @dannyradar GB are going to want to shine though as its our olympics, they're going to work even harder to make our routines even better

  • @xoxPatriots83ily
    @xoxPatriots83ily 13 лет назад +2

    @PeachVampire94 Why not? I mean she fell and was still good enough to beat everyone except Bridget. If the other gymnasts aren't good enough to beat someone after a fall then they're the ones who shouldn't win anyting and they didn't, Becca did. That's just how it works. If you can fall and still put up big enough scores to win that medal, then you definitely deserve it. Falling doesn't equal a disqualification (it would be stupid if it did) it just equals a mistake resulting in a low score

    She still has 2 years to mature so im sure she will rock for 2012, should be fun to see if usa can make it 3 in a row!

    yeah i follow it and I've seen a lot of Jordyns routines, its great that she won the AC last year! To be honest, and nothing against the US, but I would love to see Russia return to its former glory. I feel like their gymnastics has just fallen apart and the world of Gym is never the same. It's too early to even guess who will be on the 2012 russian team, but I would love to see them bring back the glory days of Khorki, Zamo, Lobaz and Produ. But nationality aside, bring it on!

    WTF!!!!! If she holds the step after double front (which she absolutely can) She will be the world champion! but I'm so happy that she take the silver, cause it will be a hot issue like ferrari's win in 2006 with a fall........

    They killed her on that fall I guess they didn't count the skill.

  • @MrPokemonmaster0009
    @MrPokemonmaster0009 12 лет назад

    @female0783 Actually now that I see her double turn with leg at horizantle didn't finish in center, her in her leaps her legs was bent so the fall wasn't that costly and all becca had to go for was the 2 1/2 and she wouldve won u have to learn ur limits

    @mrpatriot83 I agree that recent choreography sucks, but at least they're trying to change that by limiting the gymnasts to 4 tumbling passes.

  • @Markane62

    Um,big hop on the double front , step on the double twist,falls out of a turn , falls on the front tuck half + loses the element. ;)

  • @getnasty08

    the choreography needs some serious serious work. The tumbling will be ready I'm sure, but her choreo was pretty awful and not the style I want for out next AA winner.

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 13 лет назад

    @xoxPatriots83ily Um..yeah you should be able to have a complete fall and still get a metal. I mean like hurdles in track and field the guy was really fast but fell on the hurdle..even though he fell he should be second? I personally hate that rule. If you bit off more than you can chew tough.
