Thank you very much for this wonderfully useful tutorial. I would appreciate if you would explain how to turn off that annoying VERIFICATION REQUIRED message that has started popping up at every log-in attempt a couple of months ago. Thank you!
thank you
Hi what do you do if you are on site ground and accidentally set up for firewall automatically instead of manually
Honestly. I don't know. I have not used Siteground for a long time.
If you think there is a problem I would go to the setting where you can clear all database entries on deletion and reinstall it.
How do I uninstall it? There is no option. It doesnt appear as a plugin??????? Please help.
It's a plugin so uninstalls in the same way as all other plugins. I don't know why it is not appearing as a plugin. Do you use MainWP? That allows you to hide plugins. I have no idea what this issue could be.
Hi, so do you keep it in learning mode or not?, that part did not make sense for me.
It should automatically come out of "Learning" mode and into "Enabled and Protecting" after 7 days.
@@DavidWaumsley Cheers, thanks for getting back to me. Appreciated, have a good one.
Thank you so much :)
Thanks Ronald for taking the time to comment :-)
WF is blocking me from using the Divi editor even in learning mode - seems to be a huge issue for lots of users. My advice is DONT TOUCH Wordfence if you use DIVI (I see people with elementor having same problem)
Thanks for your video. Regarding the GDPR. Where have you found information about adding your signature to the pdf file you are referring to. I can not find any information about this or the pdf file.
Hi Mark. It looks like things may have changed here: www.wordfence.com/help/general-data-protection-regulation/. The pdf is still up www.wordfence.com/gdpr/dpa.pdf, but I am not sure if you need to use it.
Не ставьте. Охрененно сложный, глючит, отказывается сканировать сайт, для установки надо узнавать у провайдера конфигурацию сервера.
Thank you for the video. Do you think Wordfence firewall is sufficient or do you recommend also getting something else like Cloudflare?
Hi Nicholas. Many seem to the think that the WordFence firewall is one of the best. I personally don't think you need anything else. I stopped using Cloudflare myself many years back when it had some downtime. I saw it as one more unnecessary thing to go wrong.
@@DavidWaumsley I appreciate your perspective. In my research, I ran across this guy who said he only uses WP hide login and WP limit login. ruclips.net/video/-M4Iqs72yf0/видео.html
@@nickguy I did another video here where I mentioned too that I think you can get away with not having a security plugin:
ruclips.net/video/ynIkMc4_sFA/видео.html
This guy seem to make security is all about people being able to log into your site through the usual way. That has never been the case with the hack I have seen. The default Admin was removed from WordPress years ago and I think the majority would not agree with the hide login approach ("security through obscurity" ) but will reduce attacks by bots. It is all valid stuff though. There are lots of views and approaches.
Thank you for the video. Do you have some adivce about setting the wordfence for woocommerce ?
Thanks Mickey. As far as I am aware there is nothing specific to WooCommerce. The only thing worth mention is that WordFence and WooCommerce both consume a lot of server resources.
With WooCommerce, I personally would install wordpress.org/plugins/malcare-security/ (free or pro) which does the work on their servers. If using the free (and Malcare reports an issue) you could always install WordFence to run a scan. That said, Malcare Pro is reasonable priced and they would refund if they reported a false postive.
@@madhumitabanerjee5527 Personally, I would use Malcare, because it uses much less server resources and WooCommerce is quite a drain on them.
