Thank you so much. I’m helping my grandchild and I forgot how to do them. This is a refresher’s course for me. Other than that yours is very simple to understand. And your non threatening calm voice helps even more.
I love how he can explain all these in 20 mins and make me actually understand it and my math teacher takes forever to not help me at all

Another way to get a common denominator is to multiply both denominators together. You wont get the lowest common denominator but for large numbers its really useful.

I thought that after finding the common denominator is just simply add the 4 and 1, now I know your lesson Mr. J is the right answer.
During my time in school, I had undiagnosed dyslexia. To be blunt, I was treated as having a intellectual disability (low IQ), leading to my education being severely impacted. That, combined with the passage of time, has led to gaps in my understanding. Videos like this allow me to learn what I should have in school.
