We are Retired Couple and today we have reached Mysore in our 52 day Road Trip from Delhi to Kanyakumari . Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, is a historical palace located in the city of Mysore in Karnataka, India. It is the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. Here are some key points about Mysore Palace:
1. **Architecture**: The palace is renowned for its Indo-Saracenic architecture, which is a blend of Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic styles. It was designed by the British architect Henry Irwin and completed in 1912.
2. **Interior**: The palace interiors are lavishly decorated with stained glass, mirrors, and intricately carved wooden doors. The Durbar Hall (royal court) and the Kalyana Mantapa (marriage hall) are particularly notable for their opulence.
