Perseverance pays off. Good luck on the next round. I'm impressed with the effort you've taken to catch night images.
Admire your dedication Nigel Not been out myself for ages
Thanks for watching. Of course, had I been rally dedicated, I would have stayed until 2.00 am in the hope of it clearing! LOL!🤣
It was lovely to randomly bump into you yesterday , I look forward to seeing pictures from Church Knowlton as it’s one of my favourite Earth place. Olgi the didgeridoo player
Thank you Olga. My only regret was not recording your beautiful didgeridoo playing! It sounded amazing.
@@NigelBaileyPhotography oh thank you ! Well you never know, our paths might cross again . Hope you had a good and clear night @ Knowlton,.. and not too cold ! Take care
Hi Olga. I finally got around to publishing my video of my trip to Knowlton. Here’s a link if you would like to see it. ruclips.net/video/xIfoaR9GIqE/видео.htmlsi=MIJRo2mpTu8AvOiJ
Hi Nigel, just wanted to let you know that a more effective energy management for this kind of photography would be the use of a dummy battery. I have recently bought the z6ii and for night time use I prefer to use this combination. I am hoping to get my order this coming week and find a powerbank that is capable of outputting 9V which is what the z6ii needs.
Also I would like to ask how happy are you with the laowa lens? I am looking to get a fairly inexpensive lens for astro as I don’t do this often but still enjoy it occasionally.
Thanks for that. The Laowa is my favourite Len’s for nightscapes and Astro. I have a Nikon 20mm f/1.8 too, but my default is the Laowa. Great for general landscapes too. It may vary from Len’s to Len’s but mine is brilliant - no space invader shape stars with this one! It’s all manual of course, but then that’s how I usually shoot for night work anyhow.
@@NigelBaileyPhotography thank you for your reply. I will look into it. The only thing that worries me with these Chinese third party lenses is the inconsistency in their products and getting a bad copy might lead to “adventures” since they are not famous for their customer services.
@@marieta.s it can be the same even with Nikkor - I’ve had loads of trouble with my Nikkor f/1.8 20mm getting internal condensation inside the lens on cold nights when i put on a lens warmer. Doesn’t happen with the Laowa though.
@@NigelBaileyPhotography I see. Honestly I had never heard of bad copies of lenses from the mother company and I am not sure I would know how to distinguish a bad copy from a regular lens, unless it was producing horrible results and it was that obvious.
