  • www.vladtv.com - Trinidad Jame$ spoke to VladTV about his ongoing issues with Maino regarding comments he made about NYC music and radio personnel. Jame$ and Maino both spoke about the situation over the phone but it was unclear if they officially resolved their issues or not. Maino came in to our VladTV office to address the situation and share his reasons for taking up issues with Jame$ in defense of his city.
    While Trinidad spoke with VladTV, he explained that he in no way intended for his comments to come off as disrespectful towards New York, but rather that he was just keeping it real with the way music is handled in New York. He also denied being responsible for the phone conversation between himself and Maino being released, and also clarified that he and Mani

      *****... Well let's see. It's like I didn't release the phone call and he must of released it i guess...what the... yeah Maino released it, and
      Trindad didn't even acknowledge Maino did. That doubletalker didn't even say it to himself. What's the secret... he said what he said and on some rah rah shit Maino is riding on him. Trinidad (the phone call is suppose to be private). Your statement wasn't private. Maino just tape the way he squirmed on the phone and pretty much said check this mf out. That's way i said he doubletalked on the phone.

    • @SmokezZ908

      It was a song that everyone & they momma was laughin about. a true banger is a song that captures people in a serious way. That was more of a joke, a parody that just happened to blow up because of all the bullshit we got going on . watch the video again & keep laughin at it. just another retarded ass bullshit ass song that made hip hop look more of a disgrace than what it is now. Most of the people who were singing that song were little 10 year old kids making it as a joke & WE ALL thought he was jokin . So you cant even front to that. The same reason a lot of these misguided kids out here started thinkin poppin mollys was cool till niggas started to have seizures & dying. ya think thats cool ?this is the guy you consider serious ? to call THAT song a "true banger " would be an insult to REAL BANGERS like "Dear mama " by 2pac like "21 questions" by 50 . I can go on, but since that day which was a year ago, trinidad has made nothing but bullshit. Foolin ya into thinkin he's a real artist & EVEN if he was a real artist, he put that all to shambles by not being humble & thinkin he can challenge anyone in their own city. NO grown man is checkin for trinidad's music at all.

      Duffle bag NY rappers didn't have to get along back then because there were enough record deals for EVERYBODY to get on (with no help) because only NY rappers were getting record deals and radio play. THESE DAYS, NY rappers have to compete with rappers from the West, South and Midwest to get on, so if you're an NY rapper in 2013 and you don't have any industry friends, you're not getting put on, plain and simple.....it's just like the job market today; you probably won't get the job unless you're friends with someone that can put you on bcuz you're competing with a million motherfuckers.

    Nigga james is corny but I get what he's saying. Besides Jay and Fab NY artist hasn't put out anything hot since HFM2 . Occasionaly you may get something from Red Cafe. You don't hear NY music on the radio, niggas ain't making any videos, and niggas in NY ain't even bumping their own music. When I visit NY all i hear is niggas bumping whatevers hot now. the majority of people who's popping now is either from the South, Cali, or Chicago. Could any one from New York tell me an artist beside Jay and Fabolous that's been dropping shit consistantly from New York? Don't claim J.cole he's from NC (another state down south) he only went to college in NY. NY will always be one of the most iconic cities in hip-hop/rap history. But NY fell off hard in the last 7 years.

    • @sfknns
      @sfknns 10 лет назад +1

      LOL everybody fell off no matter what region. The fans/generation, & style of hip hop has changed for the worst since the golden days of actual skill & quality over quantity. Cali? other than snoop Lion (LOL) who is still getting a lot of mainstream appeal now? Chi-Town has kanye & ignorant ass cheif keef. Common isn't accepted in the mainstream like he was back then. Jay-z is trash now LOL. Fab hasn't been that consistent & I was never a fan of his. French Montana is from NY, Nicki Manaj, asap rocky, diddy, fuck you talking about? The south may be popping now but it's only because the sound their mainstream counterparts put out is the current trend now. Even the southern vets like scarface, outkast, 8ball & MJG, goodie mob, etc aren't getting much shine.

    • @bighomieZO
      @bighomieZO 10 лет назад +1

      Nigga no ones talking about quality and lyricism. That shit all depends on a niggas opinion. I'm talking about rappers/hip hop artist consistently putting out either mixtapes or album and their own city supporting them. It's a fact that NY is no where near the point it was at. Secondly only two of those "rappers" you named are actually consistent rappers (french and asap) diddy is mainly a behind the scenes nigga and do you really want to claim nikki as a rapper? Even with those rappers I barely hear about these niggas when I'm in NY. If I go to ATL I always hear about Rich Homie Quan, Migos, Future etc. If I go to Cali I hear about Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Tyga, YG all those bay area artist etc. Don't even get me started with Texas or with the OG's in those states. NY niggas don't support or hype up their own rappers. Even some NY rappers said that shit.

    I can't mess with this dude. Not because of what he said. I can't respect someone who is rapping just for the money an shoes. That to me means you don't have any passion for music. He woke up one day started rapping and got shit handed to him the easy. Music is a lifestyle, this shit is art. He's the reason why hip hop fell off, people like him not working on their craft, not putting in hours in the stu. I'm a big hip hop fan. I know how to identify great music and a great artist. There's no book on what a rapper needs to do in hop hop, but there are unwritten rules. People rap for the wrong reason.

What I dont understand is why is Maino, and other NY rappers letting Kendrick Lamar fly by saying he the king of NY, when dude from Compton CA lol! Makes no damn sense! As a rapper or public speaker you def have to choose words wisely and carefully. Cant be going to other cities that are not urs, and downing them or challenging them!

    And as far as New York having "Current" Rappers that sound Southern. The South and West Coast has 2 "Current" Rappers that sound like they're from the
    East Coast!
    1. Kendrick Lamar - He even said he started Rapping because of DMX in an interview. And lets be "Real" he doesn't sound like a West Coast Rapper. He doesn't sound like Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Nipsey Hussle, Or Eazy-E. Hell Tupac sounded more West Coast and he's from New York!
    2. J.Cole - He is also influenced by East Coast music and even has a song named
    "Let Nas Down" and "Made Nas Proud" Ft. Nas himself. Why didn't he name it
    "Let Outkast down" or "Made T.I. Proud"?
    And Pusha T is from the Bronx and Kendrick named him in "Control" So don't forget him either, Just saying.

    Its not that the south hustles harder then Nyc. Its that the south has more loyal people that stick together and support eachother. In Nyc, people will be quick to put you down if they see you on the come up and they think they can do better then you. The south is different from Nyc. In Nyc its a jungle out here with a lot of cold hearted people, who dont give a shit about other people.
    The radio stations in Ny is more on the political tip. So even when you have skills its extremely hard to get consistent spins. That can mean the difference between success or failure. So when you talk about the South vs Nyc, you have to understand that you cant compare the 2. Music different, people different.
    Respect is the ultimate thing to people up north. People die all the time up here for that. Thats why Maino is going so hard.
    Coming straight outta Jamaica Queens! Peace

    Man, I love my youtube Fam. I fuck with ya, forreal idc who you are i got love for all of ya but it kinda dissapoints me when you guys just arent viewing things as a grown person. Look, you dont go ANYWHERE in the world not being humble. You dont go to Chicago, Detroit, LA, Cali , Compton & Specially not Brooklyn & Blatantly challenge the city that welcomed you to begin with. If your father or anyone who cares about you , in YOUR walk of life would have taught you respect, you know you dont go to someone else's house & say "If ya wanna do something we can do it cause i dont give a fuck" what is that? ANY REAL nigga would know this. It aint bout being a bully. a bully is someone who picks on another person for absolutely no reason just for self pleasure. Cause someone came to brooklyn & was speaking wreckless & someone stands up for they city is not called being bullied. What's wrong with ya? this is ridicolous. Man, i dont want to be mean to any of ya'll but ya gotta wake up. Ya be the same people speakin bout we want the realness , "where's the realness" & you guys support this type of behavior. Could you imagine if entrepeuners who always wanted to cross to middle , white america came to their business & said " Man i remember when none of yall would accept us black people but now WE RUN ya'll & if you wanna do something we can do it cause i dont give a fuck " you see how THIS statement applies to every situation in life? Im just tryin to help ya so ya wont be so ignorant & later on in life not make the same mistake. Become men of respect, the higher you climb up, be more humble cause thats what truly captures people's attention.

      No one cares about this accept maino and a few of his followers. This is some pseduo tribalism divide and conquer bs as the people in NY doing the complaining don't own anything in NY. Bloomberg, silverstein, clear channel don't care, just the ones who have nothing to show for claiming NY are doing all the crying. How can you feel disrespected over a culture which you don't own or control and a city which is working to get rid of you (gentrification)

      Brilliant post. I was trying to think of the word to describe this before, but tribalism is the exact word I was searching for. It will go over the heads of most, as you referenced some things that a lot of people probably won't Google. This is ridiculous.

    • @SmokezZ908
      @SmokezZ908 10 лет назад

      DeepHouseNation This has nothing to do with all that imperialism that you speak of. You are speaking on a broader scale of america. & I do understand what you are saying, but this aint about that. This isnt about ANY of that. Its about Men, being men & having the respect thats necessary when you step in someone else's hometown. Wether this guy owns Newark or this other owns this .. that doesnt fucking matter to ME. THIS IS MY HOUSE, THIS IS WHAT I CALL HOME, THIS IS WHAT I WILL ALWAYS CALL HOME TILL I DIE. You understand ? You're not gonna let no one step in your house & say anything disrespectful about where you was born & im sure you wouldnt do the same. & its not just Maino, even southern staples have spoken on this situation & have the same exact views. & IF you wanna address , "oh you dont own this , you dont own that" then have THAT talk with trinidad james because he went to another city sayin that ANOTHER city runs new york. & if it wasnt for Maino, you would have more misguided kids runnnin around the world going to their city disrespecting challenging the good people who came out to see you to begin with. Its about being humble & respectful. Morals that we should all be taught to become better men & make this world wiser.

    • @SmokezZ908
      @SmokezZ908 10 лет назад

      DeepHouseNation But i completely understand where you are coming from. But this is a start. Maino didnt just start a war to be beefing with people. If anything we showed love to people & you want to come to our city & disrespect? CHANGE the respect level, CHANGE the streets, CHANGE the minds of these younging because this new generation needs more guidance. Once WE start respecting where we come from & where we were raised at, NO MATTER where you live at, then we can start as WHOLE to deal with Bigger issues.

You have to know, as a man, that you can't say any old thing any which kind of way you please and not face consequences. It isn't about being "politically correct" as much as it is about walking around in certain places without having to look over your shoulder.
