Robin Cook is an American medical thriller writer but was also the name used by a British crime writer (who also used the pen name Derek Raymond) and it was the name of a prominent British politician, which was all a little confusing. I read and enjoyed books by both the Robin Cooks.

Pen names are great for authors who have older kids or teenagers and write explicit books.
If one writes erotic stories and children's books it might be a problem. 😁
