Hi Cindy! Im glad you are looking forward to learning how to sing zaj tshoob. For me, it was very common sense, and easy to learn. I never had a teacher to teach me. I've learned that many of the elderly who knows Zaj Tshoob are less likely willing to teach us hmong woman. Because I always had interest in the culture, I just learn it from books and lyrics. Its not that hard. Its like singing song or learning music thru books. If you like to learn maybe we can learn it together.
Wow I am very impress. I am married a an American guy and still i am still very traditional in the Hmong way. I would love to know how to sing like you. How would you get the book, if there is one and do you have how to say other more zag tshoob like the ntuas ntxhais. I love listening to these.
zoo kawg tus muam, kuv thov qhuas koj. please sings more or hais ntau ntau zaj es kuv thiaj tau kawm thiab. i like to listen and like to learn some day in the future from u or someone
OULALA! Very impressive. You look very familiar. South Sac? I'm from the north, just right off of Norwood and I-80. We should get together sometime and maybe you could teach me a little bit. Just a tiny tiny bit.
Hi 134567lovers..thanks you for your comments. Well, I had always like hmong folk song and had interest in the tradition itself. So, I kinda just teach myself to learn.
Hey sister, is there any particular rhythm that zaj tshoob has? I'm trying to learn and its hard for me the understand the rhythm. Your help is much appreciated.
@nikanddye1 Hi sister. Thank you for your comments. I believe there are Books at the Hmong ABC store. I forgot the website but you can google it up. You can always look them up online as well. Yes, I do know how to sing the zaj ntuas ntxhais. Many people had request me to so post up more, but I was just a bit busy. I really encourages you to so if you love listening to them. Although my goal is not to become a niam mej koob, but it is to inpsire our generation to want to learn this stuff.

@134567lovers Zaj cob kaus is more like you are asking them to accept the "kaus" aking them to accept the wedding...and zaj txais kaus is like a confirmation that the wedding has been accepted and done so there for they give u back the kaus.I tried to explain it but may sound confusing. Its just example.Hope it answers ur question sister.
The ONLY thing women can't do in our custom culture is laig dab. Everything else they can participate to the fullest extend of their capability (drink for example). I encourage you to actually use it even after you are married!
