One thing I think you guys missed that I’ve seen folks have great success with is the interaction between devout push and canticle of hate. 2x 6” pile ins and 6” consolidate is massive movement when you charge an enemy with 2 units. Very easy to then get stuck into something else, hold them in combat, or just move into cover with the free extra stretch. Austin Wingley (?) won a tournament using this type of idea a few months back and got interviewed by the Implausible nature BT channel.
My favorite shennanigan right now is crux obsidian on an assault centurion sgt with Champion of the Feast, all backed with selfless apothecary. They will EAT some shooting and rez (getting some free movement in the process), then smash just about anything that gets close enough. They're so much fun to play.
Thanks fellas - been waiting for this one! A good run-down of my favorite faction, and I appreciate the examples of the rules/unit interactions - I hadn't thought of some of them.
Great video. Wanted to highlight a cool rules interaction I have ended up using a lot versus AOC or any defensive army. (Buddy I play with plays deathwing terminator list most sessions). Suffer Not the Unclean really stacks incredibly well with Psalm of Remorseless when you are having a hard time wounding. Typically it is fine to amp the attacks, AP, and damage of chainswords but against good toughness or in the case of deathwing, perma transhuman, it’s awesome to have the auto wounds and the mortals on 6s. If you manage to get psalm on a big unit of primaris crusaders with the power fists and chainswords and get a charge off, you often will deal at least a few mortals and your attacks that auto pass all fall on them to save. Can be extremely powerful for really tough guys.
Just wanted to add Emperors champion has oathkeeper baked into his data sheet, so he can actually take any BT WLT and benefit from his oathkeeper ability.... still not gonna take him in competitive games tho lol
Thank you for this video! I like this list and I can't wait to try it out. I noticed a distinct lack of Redemptors in it. Are they not ideal for what the Templar are trying to do?
solid review - actually oathkeeper used to be the WL trait of the emperors champion, now it is an inbuild ability and he is free to take any WL trait, even two with heir of sigismund.-cheers.
Wanted to highlight, the Emperor's Champion cannot take Oathkeeper, its already baked into his rules. However, he can take any other Black Templar warlord trait.
Great vid! Is it worth spending 2cp to put Grimaldus in an auxiliary detachment so you can put wise orator on your other chaplain and have 4 reliable litanies per battle round?
Could you explain how this is allowed? I'm a bit confused. Don't the chapter command rules say only 1 unit in the ARMY can have the same chapter command keyword? Grimaldus would still count as in the army(even in an auxiliary detachment) and thus since he has MoS baked in you still wouldn't be able to add it to another chaplain. Thanks in advance.
Great video, thank you. But how interact the list at the end, where Grimladus have 2 litanies from Litanies of Devout, but : ‘Master of Sanctity: This model knows one additional litany from the Litanies of Battle. What I have overlooked?

Love the video, very cool to get your perspective. Quick note on Sigismund's Seal: it lets you re-roll hits and wounds, not just wounds.
Well done! Lets go Black Templars!! Tell us about positioning, first turn priorities, how to maximize terrains with this army! Thanks much!

Thank you for the detailed breakdown!
Glad it was helpful!

Really cool intro and content, you have gained a new subscriber!
Awesome, thank you!

you saw the new one? you have to take that model it looks so good
I bring the Emperor's Champion because he's the only character in the game that in any way approximates how gigachad I like my characters to be.

Uh... why was the emperors champion excluded from this??

In Nachmund starting with a measly 6 CP i dont think it's worth it.
In narrative? Go hog wild. 2 CP is cheap

@@MrContinuityError I think you are right! Probably not allowed ☺️
Will we get the FF Videos for GSC, Guard, Voltan, WE?
How did BT's get a faction fundamentals before the wolves?

Grimaldus datasheet states that he knows litany of hate and two other litanies from litanies of the devout he actually cant take litanies of battle
Pls do one for the world eaters 😊
