Strangely, I had the most problems with my 06 GT during the first four years of ownership. After that it has been very reliable. This car has a hell of a punch to be as cheap in price as it is. It has the dash cover problem but the paint still looks brand new.
Alot of people gotta remember that if turbo is the goal and youre not a member of donut its gonna be way easier to just get a 4 cyl and throw the turbo in than it is to find or fabricate v6 turbo manifolds
My original cat is still messed up lol I have been noticing over the last couple of yesterday that one of the only big issues with eclipse's is that they seem to overheat catalytic converters
Love mine, it's taken me across the us with no problems, only thing is my taillight keeps cracking after I fixed the rear end after some drunk lady hit me
Ive gotten 2 new batteries ,One of my catalytic converters stopped working, and a new radiator in like 6 years Is all I've done besides basic stuff like oil changes
@@4gmceThey’re fun to drive but Ive been wanting to try to drive the automatic GT since it’s got the sportronic and see if there’s any differences compare to the 6 speed.
When I shift it to the sportronic mode nothing happens to mine... it never has worked since I got the car I don't know how reliable they are, I can shift into it but my car still shifts automatically
I've only heard good things about the GS and the GT so yes I would recommend as long as you dont care about getting the slower model at least you'll save money on gas !
I have a ST 10 Sawyer performance chip, 14829 Magna Flow muffler,DC Sports Cold Air Intake, had a shop cutout my foglights...& put thick grill in it and paint it...so it sucks air into throttle body, better performance, MoMo racing steering, wheel, and MoMo adapter. I've been able to find everything online from multiple stores like autozone and more local ones the only part I can't find out there is the oem catalytic converters. Car parts are getting more rare with this car but you can still find them
I have the '07 5-speed GS and I LOVE her to death!! It's getting harder to find parts, but I am nowhere NEAR ready to get rid of her!
same, good car.

That's awesome bro I've owned mine for about 4 years and it's been very reliable
nice!!!! people dont appreciate the 4g 's its sad! keep up the content!
Thanks bro 🙏

Autocityimports.com sells a turbo kit for the v6 it's very pricey
Take the super charger route for the GT
Love my 06. Just threw my timing belt and had to get a new engine. Gained 100hp!! Eek!!
Just got a 07 f’s can’t can’t wait to build it more
Got a 2012 gs spyder love that thing to death‼️
Update. Been through 3 secondary cats and have no clue how I keep blowing them😂

Those manual 4g Gt’s are underrated cars
I never drove the manual but the gt in general is underrated imo
@@4gmce I like both but I prefer Manuals tho since there more fun.
For real tho. I have a 6 speed GT and it is so fun. Extremely underrated

Looking at buying a 2011 eclipse gs sport, would you recommend?
I've only heard good things about the GS and the GT so yes I would recommend as long as you dont care about getting the slower model at least you'll save money on gas !
Manual is the way to go, so fun!!
I never had a Manuel car I heard they are fun tho !
@@4gmce I grew up on the manual. All control is on you. In the eclipse, so responsive! Automatic can suck it… no offense I hope…
I bet if feels way more engaging/fun but I just never got around to driving stick tho and I dont really care to
Would it be safe to buy one with 200k miles if well maintained?
Depeding on the price but yea I would say so mines at 210,000k miles currently and it still drives perfectly
@@4gmce 3k to 5k ish
Hmmm id say maybe closer to the 3k price range than yes it would be worth it, for 5k I would look for a car with less miles on it
This is just me personally
The gs is a great car for gas prices rn
Honestly...
I made my 2006 Mitsubihi Eclipse GS fast!!!!!:)!!!!!... by add ons... performances....& ... I'm proud of myself....LOoooooove my car
