  • My second AI update for those of us who love the outdoors and mindfulness. AI for sasquatch? The title hints that AI could have a profound effect upon the world through the manipulation of truth. As AI lowers the bar for people to manipulate photos and videos (often, in the past, taken for "proof" of something), on what do we base our beliefs? Join me today for an exploration of the potential challenges we'll face as AI and truth intersect.

    I call it ARTIFICIAL IGNORANCE It's just a very, very complex set of zeros and ones.Just powerful computing, mathematics performed quickly, much more quckly than we can do.
    Everyone who thinks AI is somehow amazingly intelligent are themselves ignorant. Don't be taken in people.
    Big up rewild always great content. I wish I was half way where you are man.

    Hey Kenton, interesting / fun to see you engange with this subject. It's refreshing to hear your take coming from a close-to-nature place both in location and heart.
    I have arrived to similar conclusions myself, as things get more and more haywire with simulated realities around us, the most sensible/meaningful way to find grounding, guidance and truth is to focus inwards, and work on real human / natural relationships, and of course on the relationship with yourself.
    Then we can go out and do things in the world, as nor do I believe in going all luddite, as new tech has phenomenal potential for facilitating positive change in the world. (E.g. your channel)
    It is a very radical century we are living in, in many ways I think of tech as fire (the oldest tech out there..?), we can use it for making a meal, for heating our shelter, but if left unattended or in the wrong hands it can burn down our habitat etc., as it is actually happening on the daily basis, just think of the environmental crimes of cleansing the rainforests etc.
    I think this century / technology is posing a great challenge for mankind, we are forced to look in the mirror and face the consequence of our actions.
    Bad tendencies (abusing / not respecting our environment, about our inner selves, fellow beings) are reaching results on a radical scale, so if we are to come out this transformation as victors we have to go through a transformation as a whole.
    It's a tough process, but we gotta do what we gotta do, and face Kali Yuga :) 💪
    You might find this quote interesting too, I think it sums it up quite nicely:
    "The only thing that really matters now is whether man can climb up to a higher moral level, to a higher plane of consciousness, in order to be equal to the superhuman powers which the fallen angels have played into his hands. But he can make no progress until he becomes very much better acquainted with his own nature.” Carl Jung, Answer To Job
    Ah, and BTW!
    I am certain your real background is the one with the glass of wine! Or if not, then the one with monkey :D
    All the best for you and your family! Stay strong! :)

    The background exercise was pretty cool! In video you can see the shadows moving, and it is easier to spot the ones that feel wrong when presented the correct (or more correct?? :O who knows?) version.

    • @ReWildUniversity
      @ReWildUniversity  7 месяцев назад +1

      You noticed the shadows moving! I think often that we can still "feel" when something is real in that there are details like that which we might not even noticed consciously, but which point us toward knowing if something is genuine. Still, our minds are so powerful, and when we WANT to believe something, then we often will see something as real even when to someone else, it is obviously not. Definitely a tangled skein =)

    Hello my truth seeking friend. I'm glad you made this video. This topic has been my top concern for humanity for several years now. Many people put climate change as the top priority, but if we can't solve this problem first we haven't a chance to solve any big problems which requires such a concerted effort. The AI problem is increasingly dividing people into us vs them groups, which works against all of us.
    Much of the harm caused by algorithms wasn't even intended to be malicious. It's a side affect of controlling people's attention (to garner more advertising dollars), which leads people into echo chambers. Which tends to cause people to become very tribal. Only reality holds all of the truth. Tribes are only a tiny slice of reality, lacking different perspectives, views and a broader range of information necessary to deduce the truth. If we care to find the truth we have to be willing to accept whatever reality demonstrates to us. All the while being cognitive that our own biases aren't dismissing whatever we don't want to be true.
    We should never care about what is the truth, otherwise our biases will lead us into believing what we want to be true, rather than what is true. We also should be aware that our minds naturally want to fill in the gaps, so we shouldn't come to conclusions until we hear the whole story. I will tell a little story as an example: A man in a truck pulled up to a house where a woman and her two young children lived. He quickly jump out of the truck and put on a long coat and a mask on his face. He then grabbed an axe out of the back of the truck and ran to the front door and immediately smashed his way through and ran inside. Moments later he came running out with both young children under his arms.
    There isn't enough information to judge the man's motives, without knowing he was driving a firetruck.
    If we don't know the truths we can't know the opposite falsehoods of which the conmen will use to con us. Truth is like body armor for our minds and likely our wallets too :).
    AI will be a field day for scammers and all other bad actors. It's one thing when a scammer phones you asking for money, but totally different when it's your AI generated child or other loved ones making the call. I don't see AI itself as a necessary threat and it could possible help us solve some of the big complex problems we can't seem to solve. However, it's very powerful and will be very destructive in the hands of corrupt and self serving people. More than ever we need a concerted effort to put humanity first. The government doesn't even seem to realize this problem exists. Thus we can't hold our breath assuming they will solve the problem. It's up to all of us individuals doing our duty for humanity, to cultivate that needed concerted effort. We can't keep fighting against each other, especially when there is an AI system getting better at pushing us away.
    Kenton, I know you are doing your duty (and magnitudes more) for humanity and I am grateful my friend.

    • @ReWildUniversity
      @ReWildUniversity  7 месяцев назад +1

      You've added new layers of nuance to this for me, my friend. I had never thought of AI being used to impersonate a loved one, for instance. But the tech is here already -- the AI can take in instances of someone's voice, capturing inflections and word choices, and successfully mimic not only their voice but their verbal behavior, if given enough data. Just a moment's imagining of how that could be used negatively is sobering, to say the least.
      Most important, I believe, is your assertion that we have to be the ones, each individual, working together to reshape perceptions and ways of living. Waiting for governments to regulate (and hoping that they would do so with wisdom) is probably not a good route forward =)
      Whenever I see you here, I can't wait to read your comments. I always learn something new and feel like I grow from your words.
      With love,
      Kenton

    I tend to trust my subconscious for answers, so though I trust my memory etc. is always real and not easily corrupted/reconstructed like other people, seeing many even obviously fabricated things can start to factor into what's average and could make the false more believable over time.

      I agree -- I often rely on a "sense" of things. Yet as you note, I can find that sense influenced if I have too much intake of anything. It feels like I have to keep my mind pretty clear and clean if I want that "sense" to be on-spot.

    AI is the hot topic, it's coming, it's here and will be more and more. What we see in movies, games, books it's all happening. It's almost as humans know the future and we are going full circle without knowing it. AI will be great and bad like internet, just reality,

    • @ReWildUniversity
      @ReWildUniversity  7 месяцев назад

      I think that's it -- a tool that we can use for good or ill. My concern is that we humans often make shiny new tools and don't have a lot of foresight as to how those will change our lives and affect the world. I think it would be pretty cool if we could move ahead consciously =)

  • @heisibeisi5695

    The scary aspect is that it makes it so much easier and cheaper biasing the perception of target groups in order to make them act like intended. I'm not happy about these improved and much easier to orchestrate tools for creating truth on demand. Cui bono at the end of the day?

    • @ReWildUniversity
      @ReWildUniversity  7 месяцев назад

      Good question. Unfortunately, because the AI image generation makes it so easy to fabricate things, it may benefit those who seek to profit on falsehoods. But like all tools, in the end I suppose it brings each individual face-to-face with the question of their own integrity.

  • @alexrc7333

    I believe that the more we are in touch with our surroundings, the less efective the deception is. Sadly, it is still a challenge for me to discern some content I've seen recently and it is even harder for some old folks and for the young ones as well (they tend to believe everything their devices show). I've told my grandma to never trust the media nor any audiovisual content without questioning its veracity and to use her common sense. They are vulnerable and I don't like where things are going with this.
    Although it is true that the A.I algorythms are an impressive feat of the coding engineering and the fact that it has been around for more than a couple of decades is impressive, the A.I tools/apps that are being sold to the masses are the more deceptive among the bunch and they are biased as well since most if not all of the commercial A.I e is still coded by humans.
    What I fear the most are the falseflags and psyops they are going to drop on us with this technology since no one regulates it, that and the unawareness of the masses are a bad combination. Guess I gonna be learning some of the basics of A.i coding in order to be more prepared for the incoming deceptions and to raise awareness with those I care for.

      yeah, those are freakishly hard to tell, the monkey was abvious though but other stuff like the knife, the axe?, the wine glass is pretty much impossible to tell unless you already know. There was also a weird formation on a branch i couldn´t decide on, it looked kinda manufactured but there are so many wierd shapes in nature it just might be real. I don´t know if you saw the faked phootage of a sasquatch from a train window, that one was very easy to tell yet many fell for it, hook lina and sinker! @@ReWildUniversity

      No, I haven't seen that one. Interesting that people fell for it. I suppose that's what I'm getting at here -- it's so easy, now, to create fictions. As more and more people can do it with ease, how will that affect our ideas of the world. So interesting!

  • @johnpowell8568
    @johnpowell8568 7 месяцев назад +1

    Weeeeellll, because my interests are soooo out there in regards to acceptability by the powers that be, and because of just exactly the subject you are addressing, I decided a long time ago to not attempt any sort of realistic public addressing as far as a 'platform' such as youtube. All my other attempts got censored somehow. A lifetime of book searching left me bitter and disillusioned about just what was allowed to go into print on anything like a mass scale/availability thing. Censorship is now much easier than ever before.
    On a different level, I think most target groups were aware at an early age that their perceptions and their ability to not only communicate those perceptions, but to even be understood by more 'normal' folks, were patchy at best, and simply crushed (via thought police/mental 'hospitals') at worst. Now, the 'target group' is growing to include ever larger percentages of the general population, and GOLLY WHIZ Bubba Gump, they're coming for ME, and suddenly, things are getting bad!
    The Nazis had very sophisticated propaganda for their time, but crude as it may seem to us, it WORKED back then because people wanted to believe it. Just like now. People want to be lied to. Unfortunately, by the time we get a little glimpse outside the box, life inside the box is like a drug we are addicted to, and it's soooo much easier to simply go with the flow, no matter how outrageous, unless of course we realize that the flow is aimed at us personally, and that our self delusions will no longer save us!
    Think about the Native Americans. Think about ANY pre-industrial peoples. They all went through this stuff CENTURIES ago, and the hold-outs were eventually 'integrated' into the scheme of thingz, or variously eliminated. But no worries, right? Armageddon is just around the corner, Jesus loves me, and the Rapture will SAVE me! Yup, Elon Musk is gonna make CERTAIN I'm among the chosen few to go up up up up into the sky in the latest and greatest space ship you never saw, by golly. For the rest? Aw shucks! They'll just have to be like that AI generated superman over there in Wisconsin that can run around naked in the snow and start fires without knife/farro rod, or matches, then submerge in snow/ice water, and live to tell the tale. Yes, I KNOW it's all completely AI generated, but it was kinda nice to think there are such folks out there to carry on once Armageddon finishes off the rest of us, except of course for those individuals and groups that will be authorized to survive by way of not being targeted by the legions of terminators that will wildly surpass what Arnold Schwarzenegger showed us in his AI enhanced movie way back then. Golly!
    Kenton, in watching your videos, I'm increasingly getting the sense of the 'timeless'. It's sort of like that old saying: "The dog barks, but the caravan passes on". The fads and gizmos of our times will probably always be hopelessly complex and screwed up, but when was it any different? Even the Romans died and degenerated due to lead wine vessels. Now, it's all just a matter of scale, and the ability to realize that there are thingz happening here on Earth that probably happened countless times on other planets already. I always think back to things I come across in diverse places. The time Faramir told Eowyn that "when the final darkness comes, I hope to face it steadily". Can we that have lived, however indirectly, on the incredible suffering of countless life-Spirits, really claim wrong doing?
    ruclips.net/video/5CNli3UekTk/видео.html&pp=ygUOc3Vydml2YWwgbGlsbHk%3D
    This link is just part of the impending reductions in our supposed freedoms. Every time I see certain homeless persons barely stumbling through this thing called civilization, I see those that are literally not living in synch with the go-with-the-flow society. Having done that for some years myself, I know it sucks, but it IS a form of freedom not understood by the average person. Living on donations and thrown away foods from garbage cans. Raggedy clothes. Side-by-side with cashless stores, driverless cars, and the latest app. Do we really need our blinders to get us through our lives without going completely bonkers from an outraged sense of empathy? Guess so, except of course in our AI enhanced dream worlds where we can tune in to the latest episode of SUPER SURVIVOR FAMILY ROBINSON over there in that paradisical wonderland (Wisconsin?) where the air is clean, the water is pure, and our HERO can run through the snow in nothing but a loincloth and SURVIVE. Gotta LOVE it!
    By the way, it must really be cold in that video, but for you to wear such type of coat is like anyone else wearing a full down parka!
    Keep up the good work man, because we need Heros in this increasingly digitalized world.
    Love and respects, John, Ana, and Little Forest.

      Ah, thanks as always, John. I love reading your shared journey here =) The great thing for me is that I can be that hero so much more easily now. Break through the ice and claw my way out? Heck, I can do that sitting on a couch drinking a beer! No need to get all nasty cold and wet, lol!!
      Really, though, I wonder if at some point we'll "forget" the timeline when AI interventions became feasible for most media creators, and will look back at things from the '90s or early 2000s and dismiss many real things as AI generated. The affects of this shift may be more pervasive than any of us imagine!
      Sending you all love,
      Kenton

      Great point about looking back. I've been seeing a LOT of 'replacement' of real video/newsreel footage with obviously computer imaged material. Notice all these 'remade' movies? They give it the same name, but it's really a different movie. Makes it hard even now to find the originals. Imagine how much harder in 20 more years?

    Sasquatches eh? I didn't know you knew Derek from Vice Grip Garage. >>:=p It's those videos with 549 views you should be following, I hear. mwahahaha. Exploration and testing of things, that's how we figure out the truth. Essentially, A.I. goes to show you can't believe anything unless you see it first talon yourself. My largest concerns with it are that a world leader could hear something said/shown by another "world leader" via A.I., believe that to be so, and reply to some statement/threat/etc. based upon that. I think some of Orwell's 1984 and that ongoing fake war that was continually televised. Next level, I have concerns about tech like brain chips, because it could technically be possible to pipe fake Mandela effect memories (or what feel like memories) into the mind, esp while you sleep. This is getting to be a weird place, brother. If you'd be up for it, would love to see you do a talk on this rising tech as well, esp since it's been opened up to human testing (last May I think it was).
