I find your pride and love for the Queen endearing. I am a Minnesotan and an American and I can say that I don't have that pride in my country's leader(s). I have always loved hearing about the Queen. And bowed my head at her passing. I loved her hats!! I actually have a dark blue vintage hat that I bought for a costume for one of my kids, but it reminded me of the Queen so I kept it and sits on top of my necklace tree in homage to her!! I love the heritage of the UK. I'm Irish, German and Norwegian and know little about my ancestry, but watching you and Andy find all the historical pictures and memorabilia has taught me so much more than our history books here.
Absolutely
My Ancestry Is Norwegian, German And A Bit Of Scotish.😊
Likewise she was “The Boss” for me on and off for over 20 years
Hello Matt and Bear!!! Another awesome video. Hello Andy! Everyone misses you too.
I'm thinking the animal paw was the poor cat .That's so tragic. I hate it when the animals suffer. Absolutely loved this explore as always. The bunker was a nice extra bonus. Good find Matt thank you.
I thought the same. At one point when he shows it on camera you can see the pink pads on its front paw.
@@Bogsdollocks-e5f Also on one camera frame you can see it's got a curved claw, rabbits don't have curved claws, but cats do, as they are predators who have to catch prey. Remember, he also showed us a huge mound of cat food boxes too. How sad, I pray that cat didn't die after being left locked up in there. God bless you.
I thought cat straight away, when I saw that paw. I hope it wasn't trapped and suffered. Hopefully it went for a nap, and just didn't wake up
@@msjaffacake Same here. I'm so soft hearted. I hate anything to suffer. Maybe it was old as well so passed peacefully.
Matt that’s a 1960’s baby bottle they were also used for spring lambs.A teat would have gone over one end
I'm a American and I loved the queen. I just bought the commemorative silver 1oz bar with the Queen on it. Now I'm trying to find a coin of King Charles for my collection!
When Bear gets quiet that's when you need to worry. He is such a cute puppy. We have five indoor dogs and two outside dogs. I love animals. This was a great video. Thanks again and please stay safe.
I have absolutely loved the Scotland series! Thanks so much Matt.
That bunker was soooo good. I thought it was a fallout shelter at first. Awesome explore, Matt. Oh and by the way, I’m an Aussie and Charles is my King!!!❤️👑 Absolutely adore your work ❤️❤️🐻🇦🇺
November 16th is my birthday. I've always loved Al Capone. My grandad actually got to meet him when he was young. He even got to ride with Hoffa and point out the scabs during the truckers strike.
That letter was so heartwarming... I love it when you relight the history..
Wow matt I loved this one so good. Although the mum in me was questioning your sanity going down that bunker lol . Thank you for all your hard work 👏👏👏
The Norwegian writing on the cabinet translates to 'Salt and bread makes the cheeks glow red'. x
Its danish the writing on the cabinet, if it was Norwegian it Will be "salt og brød gjør kinnet rødt" , i am Danish so i Know , but yes its very similar 😊😊❤ " salt og brød gør kinden rød" we say is all the time in Denmark ❤
That was neat. The writing.
The bunker reminded me of the old 2-man Cold War monitoring stations that keep going up for sale and getting plastered on local news sites. In the event of a nuclear attack, they’d relay information back to larger bunkers like the one in York so the government (or what was left) could work out radiation levels and things. The Royal Observer Corps manning them were all volunteers and the bunkers weren’t really built for survival. Give a month max or working back-to-back monitoring the situation and then it was “Right, out we go otherwise the air’ll run out.” Just left to whatever remained. The paper that's burnt out was possibly for checking the light from the initial blast so they could triangulate where any potential bomb hit. Some poor bugger had to go out and get it right after the blast before natural light ruined it like you saw. Pretty grim. The main York one was decommissioned in 1991 but they were running drills until then.
There is one close to where I used to live just outside of Pluckley Kent. You can see it from the road very well secured and fenced off as well
At 1:13 there is a brown teapot next to the Marquis of Staffordshire cup, I have a similar teapot in my home in USA. It does say Made in England . How nice to see something similar to what you have. 😊
Great video Matt. That animal paw put me off my Monster Munch 😂.
That Hello Fresh food you did looked fab.
Another great one Matt :) John Miller was a clockmaker from Kilwinning in Ayrshire in the 19th century so that clock made a bit of a hike. Maybe Mr Miller just made the clock faces and inner workings and then someone local made the case for it as often happened. The cotters Saturday night is a poem by Rabbie burns. If I remember rightly the little pendant thing with Cancer/Capricorn on it was from petrol stations in the 1970's .. maybe not right on the petrol stations but defo 1970's. The ceramic beaker of the Marquis of Stafford was to celebrate his 21st birthday, he became the 5th Duke of Sutherland in 1913. :) x
Thank you Matt for reading the letter, it's very interesting how people back in the day were so polite. I love how you and Andy always take your time to show all of us the best of everything you discover.
Great job Matt you are doing a wonderful job while Andy is taking a break. Thank you and appreciate all your hard work and your time, to bring us pieces of history. 💞
Aloha Matt! Not sure how I missed this video! I notic3d that the Fireplace in the room where you went thru the floor looks like the pencil drawing you showed just prior. Cool explore!😊👍
I love Bear. Your programme is great too.
That was so great!😍 I guess that the white furniture with the bright painted decor are scandinavian. Wow! The letter, newspapers, the Hannah book, the bunker..... so many great things! 💖
Thank you both so much for all those scottish videos!
Love you both so much.😘😘
I loved that carved wooden piece of furniture with the inscription and carved elf things. I think the words were maybe Swedish. I wonder if there was a Swedish connection with the family. Great explore. 👍🏻
Thank you so so much for showing us these remote homes.
I have absolutely enjoyed watching these so much. I’ve enjoyed these the most and it’s nice to have a change.
I bet Bear has thoroughly enjoyed himself.
You both deserve a rest after the week you two have had.
Thank you again it’s been wonderful.
What a great video Matt! That was so neat seeing the bunker and all old newspapers
I think the sheep ornament is nice 🙂 seeing bear enjoy himself running after the rabbits amazing so nice to see him bouncing up and down😂 what's a great lad he is❤😂
That was great! My Grandma used to say "IF IN DOUBT, DO NOWT!" I try to go by that saying too, so if you're in doubt about going into a room, don't do it!!! That poor animal trapped in the attic 😭 I loved the story of old age on the grandfather clock, and I found it eerie that you were stood there so many years after the lady in the photo!
I really love that bedroom furniture with the bright colours on it ❤
Matt, fantastic tour! With Bear walking around and it being so dark and only having your torch, you are braver than I!! I love that you show us everything that you see. Your work is very much appreciated. Stay amazing Matt! Much love from Massachusetts ❤
Loving your lone explores, adds a new element of scariness - I jumped out of my skin when you fell through the floor😮
I've got the same mantel clock (approx 20:00). It was my great grandfather's and was given to him by HM Royal Dockyard in Plymouth in 1933 upon his retirement. It still works and has a Westminster chime.
Hi mat , really interesting explore. That house was a bit dodgy though. I been in one of those bunkers near where I live at broadway tower. They have it set up complete with all equipment. They were built in 1955 and used till 1991 and manned by volunteers during Cold War. The volunteers were part of the royal observer corps. What a great find that bunker was. Love the toilet paper 😂 I remember my dad used to get that in his early RAF days. Love to you bear and andy.
That was brilliant. Especially that last little bit. What an absolute gem. Thanks for showing us Scotland Matt 🙏❣️
You have built up a great style of talking on the explores. I'm sure that it isn't easy given that you have been used to chatting to Andy.
This has been a fascinating explore.
Matt loves this one so much that letter was like touching the past so good .. great series keep them coming it’s all been excellent and the variety too ! Your doing great keep it going … ❤
Back in the olden days, people used to put newspaper on the walls before they hung the wallpaper. This added insulation.
That is true and those newspapers were still readable which is neat to me.
I have notifications on and grumble when I'm at work and can't watch you straight away 😂 I have to wait till 9.30 pm 😢😂❤can't wait to watch it.
That table with the 3 hearts cut into it I might have wanted to save @ 31:17! I mean the roof is leaking and in 9 out of 10 of these abandoned houses that have lost their roof everything will be a pile of mush in short order. I couldn't save it nor any other item as I live in the U S. I love this video, please keep up the great work.
😮takecare out there ,glad you didn't get injured going through the floor,😮so brave ,so scetchy to go out alone,
I DO like you reading old letters and such! It's like a time machine
I loved the letter and thought it was so interesting. Could you explain what a croft actually is please and maybe did they buy or rent a croft from someone high up? Great video once again, love to you and to Andy, hope he's OK ❤
I think it means a barn.
@MsCynflo nooooo
croft
/krɒft/
BRITISH
noun
a small rented farm, especially one in Scotland, comprising a plot of arable land attached to a house and with a right of pasturage held in common with other such farms.
Loved the bunker 😮bless those who served ❤
The paw sticking out of the ceiling I believe is sadly a cat.😢
Great explore Matt xx
The fountain photograph at ca. 35:58 is Roma - The Pincio Park Fountain Of Moses Saved From The Waters

This was awesome ❤. Wow what a great explore and a cool bunker. 😊 thank you Matt and Bear for your scotland explores. I really enjoyed them.
I am truly impressed at how you consistently find these impressive abandoned places to explore week after week. I don’t know how you do it!
Although we do miss Andy & look forward to his return You are doing a fantastic job in his absence Matt!!! Thank you!!! Love the Scottish investigations. This house made me nervous for you, I was so worried about you on those floors. I'm glad that you read the entire letter in the beginning of the video - letter writing has all but disappeared and I for one greatly lament that. The letter was such a beautiful look back to our fading Histories. Also, Jim Reeves (the records you found) was an American Country music singer who was a BIG star in the 1950's - 1970's and a regular on the Grand Ole Opry. He was nicknamed "Gentleman Jim" as supposedly he was quite the good, kind, respectful man!!! As an American AND a lifelong Country music fanatic I was pleasantly surprised to see his albumns in a cottage in Scotland!! Anyway, keep up the great work - I appreciate it and I know Andy does too. GOD Bless you, Andy and Bear. Love, Dawn from Michigan, USA
That dish looks amazing from Hello Fresh!! Matt, the map you were looking at had a Copyright on the bottom I think but you moved the camera too quick. You gave me a good panic when you were falling!!😮😅😩. Hahaha, that Barbie thingy on the ceiling…what the heck?? That’s a kitty’s foot😢😢😢. How sad. Wow, that newspaper from 1915 really brill. I really liked the bunker. I loved all your videos from this trip. Brilliant explores. Keep up the amazing explores Matt. I love you, Bear and Andy. ❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗
Loved fhe explore as ever, but the ROC post made for an amazing bonus at the end of the video. I became fascinated with those when I first discovered the world of urbex.
Another amazing but dangerous explore, the letter about the Croft was Lovely. The clothes dryer look out of place has well as the barbie lampshade 😂😂😂😂 so glad the piece of wood didn’t land on bear. And glad you didn’t hurt yourself too, the bunker was a amazing find. I think it was a cats paw poking out of the celling. Well done on another great video. 🥰
I watched this video 5 hrs late . But , WOW , I would go as far to say .. this one was my favourite one from Scotland Matt . What an amazing explore. So much was found ... that wallpaper, with reference to the 16 Cornishmen who perished ( I will try to find out about that ) . The dodgy floors 😱..peril . And I'm sad to see the poor cat in the ceiling...what a sad end xx . The bunker ! I was so scared you would trapped inside ! . But , thank you so very much Matt and Bear ❤...by far my favourite sole explore yet . And the Hello Fresh interlude - great ! . Thank you xxx you worked so very hard to bring us this brilliant video ( and almost got stuck in the floor forever filming it ) 😂. ❤💃. Brilliant . I for one appreciate all the hard work Matt xx
Another great explore matt and bear, you really stretch yourself to come up with so many adventures for us to share, loved the coincidence seeing hannah hawkswell what a lovely lady from my part of the country.look after yourself as going down that hole thingy had me in a panic 😮 bless you and cuddly bear ❤xxx
This is where Andy was useful sorted through everything😂😂😂
I really enjoyed this video,Matt & Bear. Apart from you falling through the floor & the poor Cat what was dead 😥The letter was so interesting.👍 Laughed out loud when you showed the Barbie lamp shade😅 keep up the great work, you & Bear are doing well😊
The writing on the cabinet is Danish, its means "salt and bread make the cheek red" in Danish "salt og brød gør kinden rød" its rhymes in Danish but not in English, really loves that cabinet, I am Danish but live in Spain ❤ about the cup with" the marquis of Stafford" was a celebrating the 21st birthday on 29th August, 1909 of The Marquis Of Stafford, the eldest son of the Duke & Duchess of Sutherland.....in this house i can imagine a little old " masculine " woman with a cigarette in one side of her mouth and big wellies 😅 dont fall to the floor again, u gave my a heartache 😅 good video, glad u came out ok..
You’ve done really well Matt; really enjoyed all you’ve done. Sorry but I laught when you went through the floor all the best for your channel 😊
Another great explore Matt..Stay safe out there...Is getting More dangerous with they old floors take bear with you always...He may become a recuse dog barking for help if you get hurt ..
All the explores you have done in Scotland have been really good and been different from the normal explores shows you make the extra effort sleeping in your car for a week and the many miles you have been driving bet you are nackered but fair play to you enjoyed watching all of them bet you be glad to get back home to the family
59.15 just past top stairs to bedroom did last sounded like get out!😮
Could it be a cats leg instead of a rabbit? Cats make more sense especially with all of the empty cat food boxes
I thought that as well it makes more sense and looked I thought like a cats paw
I've been getting Hello Fresh deliveries for a few weeks and I'm loving it. Me and my daughter usually order take out on weekends, but with the boxes we've been eating at home. That food looked delicious. We haven't had a meal yet we didn't like! I'd have loved the 60% off and free gifts though lol! You should have invited Kay over to cook with you. She could have helped you with the noodles! hahaha
To me the clock represents the life phases.
Old letters, photographs and journals are what i like in these old places mostly.
I would love to visit Scotland but dout i ever get too, its where my great grandfather was from and he went to the university in Glascow.
This has been an amazing little journey of explores and Bear kept you company so glad he wss with you😊
Absolutely love the queen.. I'm from America but my son-in-law is from the UK. I'm absolutely addicted to anything and all things British and Royal. As a matter of fact. I don't think there's anything I haven't seen or read about them.
Most Canadians, ...The younger generation do not believe in having a Queen or see a purpose, I grew up singing "God save the queen in school, but now they no longer do that, plus they took out morning Prayer, even cursive writing isn't taught anymore. Things have changed considerably, I think the way I was raised was better, I learned respect, and appreciated things more. The bunker was smaller than I thought inside. but interesting, thanks for taking the risk and going in.
I might be wrong, but I think the pronunciation of "marquis" is actually like "markee". Glad you and Bear are having fun!
Ooops late... just finished cleaning so going to watch from the start ❤
Food looks great. Love anything that doesn't take hours to cook.
That was scary! Glad you were ok.
Amazing video Matt!! You were saying about the royal family earlier. My father was from Britain, and as a family here in Ontario Canada, we were raised with the Royals. We always watched the Queen's speech on Chritmas Day. I have actually kept many traditons that ny father had even after his passing. I dare to say I've actually used some of the slang. not bad here but bloody bad there😅. Thank you again for the marvelous video. Stay safe!❤
Sunday is my favourite day. I love watching your videos x
My grandma's house was like that, newspaper behind the wall paper. In 1915, she was 14 years old.
I love the queen class
Omg that place is stuffed to the hilt with possessions. I have never understood people who hoard things like this, I personally hate clutter. Much love from Australia Matt, love your work xx
I’m thinking that was the poor cat that got left behind after she died and went into the roof to look for food but got stuck in the ceiling.
Most Australians can’t stand the royal family because of their reputation and association with certain people
I'm so proud of you BEEPER Matt, you're doing an amazing job 👏 without your side kick, we'll done ❤️
Omg Matt! Great video, very interesting house! Loved how Bear ran off to catch those rabbits, very cute. That bunker! I thought the video was scary, BUT that bunker! So prayed that latch wouldn't close!!
Aww so glad to be back couldn’t get to watch any thing in turkey internet was crap x
Really enjoyed Scotland trip x
That paw looked like a cat's paw. Poor thing.
i thought that aswell ive got a rabbit and his feet dont look like that one . aww maybe it got trapped up there poor soul.
Love all pained bits
I really liked the last room with the matching furniture! I think that the table in the previous room would fit in with that furniture. I also liked the grandfather clock. I also really loved that really old travel trunk in the last room! I do believe those slats in the trunk were for hanging slacks. Reminds me of the ones in the movie White Christmas. Bear running around after the rabbits was funny. Were you sure that the foot in the ceiling was from a rabbit? I thought it was a cat foot because of the fact that there was so much cat food. Great explore but you had me worried about your health, especially when you actually went through the floor! Stay safe! Love from New Jersey, USA!
You go on about The Queen as much as you like Matty. I'm very proud to have had her as The Queen of Australia and I know that most Aussies would agree with me. 🇦🇺
I'd rather have her than who we have here in America 😢
Here in Tasmania Australia ,I loved The Proclaimers and there song "Sunshine on Leith " Leith is where i grew un in Tasmania . My family came from Scotland
Matt, you covered the address on the letter, but when you were putting it back in the drawer it was clearly showing.
Does that really matter ? Because anyone and everyone that lives around there knows where this place is. Obviously people have been inside because you could see things missing.
@@TXplayneJayne I was just letting Matt know because it seemed important enough to him in the beginning to cover it up.
This actually wasn’t the correct address however, it was very close so I left it in… also got in contact with a local who has now sealed the place up
@@Jadzeer......
I meant no disrespect it's just odd as these properties are abandoned falling in rotting away and collapsing
@@TXplayneJayne I didn’t think you were disrespecting me sweet. I’m so sorry if I came across that way. Hope you have an awesome day.
My old Dad loved Jim Reeves. What a voice.
A lot of us here in America loved Jim Reeves. He had a voice. My mom also loved him.
@@TXplayneJayne Hi Linda..I called my Dad my old Dad (it’s a cockney slang) but like Jim Reeve he died young.I was 12 and my memories of my dad Singing along with my 8 Brothers and sister will live with me for the ready of my life.
I’m a Londoner but we were nicknamed the Walton’s 😊
Though our surname was Raynsford😂
@@TXplayneJayne My Dads favourite welcome to my world but he could recite every word to every record.
Bear loves to be close to you Matt as soon as you walked away hey soon worked the route out😂❤ the suitcase the planks of wood with leather strap would they be coat hangers💭🤔
The SEXY bedroom voice when you say "Hi" each time cracks me up. I feel like it's not the start to a scary video but a risqué video.😅😅😅
Lol that’s just my voice 😂😂😂
Re: the Queen/royal family, I am not especially educated on the matter, but there's plenty of things that the royal family has done, that I hate. However I know it's a very complicated issue for a lot of people.
Bring back Andy 😁👍
Happy Sunday morning! Now it’s coffee with Matt, Bear and the Beeper Brigade!!❤
That was a good one, especially the bunker x
Lots of interesting and old things in the house, it's a shame that it's getting moldy 🙁
Me Mum and Dad loved Jimmy Shand and his band, he did Scottish Dance kind of reels.
59:50 min. A great closet case, it's a shame it's broken 😐
Great video yet again. Bunker was very interesting. My heart stopped when you went through the floor, hope the ankles ok? Jeanette
Really enjoyed your Scottish explores over the past few days. Thanks Matt!
Yes I remember watching all the Hannah Hauxwell films. They don't make them like that anymore.
Brilliant vid very interesting
Matt you're farmhouse videos are entertaining 😂
The ROC bunker is post WW2 Cold War nuclear bunker there was one close to where I lid n Kent which was visible from the road but very securely locked up
Absolutely fantastic that bunker was so cool, the whole place although it was trashed fantastic especially the old newspaper from 1915
54:44 Now that's what you call a soiled mattress! 🤣
Matt! You bloody scare me to death 😱😢❤
