I love all animals and have always had large dogs, until almost 12 years ago when my 8 year old granddaughter talked me into buying a Chihuahua! Having never had one, we were in for a pleasant surprise! I read everything I could about them. We socialized her and I worked a lot with her as far as training went. I have always had dogs, but I have to say she turned out to be the smartest one yet! She has different little whimpers that let us know she’s hungry, tired, cold (wants you to cover her with a blanket although she’s quite capable), she needs to go potty, and if by chance her bowl is empty of water, she’ll pick it up and drop it on the ground to get our attention! If she wants a cheese snack she will go to the refrigerator and twirl, or if she wants a snack from the pantry, she’ll do the same in front of that door! She’s not yappy like I’ve heard they can be, maybe because she’s got us trained so well, lol. She loves everyone she meets and has even taken on a Great Dane and Pit Bull in the same day (we had her on a leash, they were too). She has no fear of anything and we adore her little sassy self. I’ve heard so many horror stories about Chi’s, maybe it’s the owners not the dogs themselves! Said same granddaughter now owns a Malinois, Moose is a wonderful dog and protector!
I also have a Chihuahua. I didn’t really want one, I favor spaniels. But my husband wanted one, and I gave in. She grew up with our older spaniel, and she has turned out to have a great temperament and is the smartest little thing, much like yours, she is excellent at communicating with us. I think the mellowness of the spaniel has helped, and her energy has given him new life in his senior years, so it’s been ideal.
I have had 3 Standard Poodles as well many other breeds, Standards are amazing. I had one who literally learned things after 2 tries. It was amazing like he read my mind. RIP Mason
Most of these breeds are bred for a job. Do your research and on the breed and the breeder. All dogs are supposed to be the member of a family. All dogs can be dangerous around children if not socialized always do your research. Keep energy levels in mind. Keep what they are bred for in mind I did repeat myself on purpose
@Amanda Hibbs Exactly, that’s the reason so many people have ‘problem’ dogs. My dad always said, “a tired dog is a happy dog”. One thing in which I agree with Cesar Milan is: excercise, discipline (training, NOT punishment) then affection. There are several people in my neighborhood with medium to large dogs that never get walked. It’s sad.
@@MrTommyboots Train with affection, that's the key and what I do with my four-legged clients. Not training a dog, any dog, is a form of neglect in my opinion.
I have a Rottie and she is extremely intelligent. I got her at 2mths so I was able to socialize her as I wanted. As a female I was concerned about her breed, but I refused to be afraid of my own dog so i never approached her in fear. She in turn is not aggressive (she's not been tested if I am attacked...) and she lives with a 15yr old cat who makes her cry. Gotta love the bullying cats! Although I initially had her professionally trained, I follow up that training in some way every day. Consistency and enforcement is key.
My Rottweiler, was smart, adaptive, self assured aloofness, no nonsense barking or attack dog...lovable to life and family dog... RIP Bruno 😞. Miss him every moment
My Cane Corso was so smart and well behaved. So easy to train and she understood so much of what I said. Strongest bond I will ever have with a dog, and that’s not lack of strong bonds with other great pups of the past and present. Great breed but also make sure you know the level of responsibility that comes along with a Corso.
I was lucky enough to become the God of food to a great big,fat whore of a Malinois named Akira(Kukay's Akira). I won't say I was her owner,we owned each other. The bond we developed was unlike anything I had experienced before,or since. Her devotion to me was what I consider the quality I liked best. But I assure you,she was too notch all the way around,no bad habits. Sadly, she died in 2017,ten days shy of her 14th birthday from a heart attack. She came to me and layed down on my lap,and was gone in two or three breaths. She was the kind of dog you only run across once in a lifetime,if you are lucky. My eyes still moisten whenever I think of or talk about her. Like now...anyway,splendid breed!
I so agree---I have only had one but she won my heart!!! As a pet they are the most loving, happy go lucky pet in the world. One day I was sitting on the sofa and my son had left the french door slightly open-, had rained the day b4--she opened the door came running in, jumped in my lap and starting licking me---She loved you and she loved life in general-- Will always miss my Ziva!!!!
I have a dog, her name is Pollie, she’s 1/2 poodle, and 1/2 collie, my sister gave her to me, Pollie is the best and smartest dog i ever had. If i am running late for work, she yells at me, to get going, she talks, and last but not least, she’s a mind reader.
@@ricechido1089 Rotties are notoriously stubborn. So having a smart AND stubborn is a bad mix because they know exactly what theyre doing when they dont listen to you. I think a lot of rottie parents dont understand this, and dont realize that if you tell your rottie to do something, you HAVE to follow through. The phrase that describes them best is, "you give them an inch and theyll take a mile" lmao
I grew up with my Dad training our Golden retrievers. They are very compassionate, whether they're more intelligent, or more dense! Lol! Yes, the two goldens we had were polar opposites of each other. One was amazingly intelligent & took no nonsense stopping burglars from getting into our house & gently putting an end to us poking & prodding him as children, but the other was as dense as they come & would have greeted a burglar with a wagging tail & the smile only a golden can give! Lol!
Although some breeds are consistently ranked high for intelligence, dogs like humans, have unique personalities as individuals. Their environment and relationship with their human partner will be a defining factor in how they perform.
GIBBS, my English black labrador, Heidi, our German shepherd & Max, our rottweiler...true, very easy to train. Sometimes, I think they're training us! Heidi & Max are now in HEAVEN, miss them terribly. I love all my dogs, like my babies. Talk about "man's best friend "!! Thank you for sharing this video. God bless!
My aussie was a pleasure to train and learned basic commands, at 12 weeks old, in about 3 days. We moved on to advanced field training/games to keep her sharp and she loved those "games". Extremely loving, obedient, protective but not aggressive, but high energy. She lived to 20. Aussies are similar to Border Collies in intelligence and temperament - both are herding breeds.
If you don’t mind fur here and there the King Shepherd is a total delight. Smart, obedient, quick learning, affectionate, playful and protective. And gorgeous. Fluffy and majestic. They get a lot of attention for their size and beauty.
My GSD is getting to be my best friend; he is faithful to the roots, likes praising and sociability to death. He has high self respect, self dignity and very strong personality but he will kill himself to keep you happy. GSD learn very fast but they need lot of time, effort and attention from their owners.
I've had a Doberman (rescue dog). Rough Collie (rescue dog) Manchester Terrier and my mum has an Old English Jack Russell. To be honest I can't pick which one is the best as they have all been simply amazing. The first 3 dogs have protected me in my life and the Jack Russell does the same for my mum. When it comes to the border collies I would rope in the collie family as they are all super intelligent. My sister has had 3 Staffordshire Bull Terriers and again simply brilliant. Show love, make them part of the family and they will perform above what you expect.
I have black labrador He easily learned the tricks He is very intelligent I love him He is famous in my area for his tricks Many kids came to shake hand with him🤣 But he is always hungry Edit: thanks for likes😇
I've had 3 German Shepherd dogs and just lost my 12 1/2 year old to Hemangio Sarcoma. Such a loss. Love this breed and they become your best friend. Not sure if I get another dog for some time.
I've got a mutt puppy from a shelter that found a stray female dog that gave birth. Learned all commands I trained her, she is hyper energetic when we are out of the house (obedient, just full energy) and couch potato when at home. It's like the perfect combo. Only problem I have right now is house training (during night)

My staffie was a joy to train, as she is very food and play motivated. Plus she is so affectionate and funny. My grandparents had a german shepard when I was a kid and that dog followed me everywhere as my personal protector!
This is a great list to have. Thank you for this. I already decided on a poodle for my service dog, but now I know what to look at for the therapy dog training as well.
2 rotties here and amazing dog. I had no issue training it and very little patience needed. My female earned her good citizen and working towards emotional support. While my male is a bit aloof and fearless guardian how he should be.
Our shepherd Brandy was smart as hell all you had to do was show her how to do something once or twice and she learned it and she was protected of my daughter🤔😲🐕💞😘
Our toy poodle is our favourite. So easy to train. Relaxed, wants to be with so never wanders far when off the leash, affectionate and just needs one long walk or maybe two 1/2 hour walks a day. ❤️
I have a chihuahua mix and a Siberian Husky. The husky is very wolf like, but she’s super affectionate. The chihuahua barks a lot and is overly excited. They’re both entertaining and beautiful.
Nope, incorrect. Malinois are faster learners and have more will to please. But gsd are way goofier and sweeter with strangers and kids. Less hyper and definitely less snappy. Overall a calmer and “nicer” dog for sure. Way better suited for a family rather than a mal. My malinois is super wary of strangers and I never let some random people pet him while on a walk, he also doesn’t love kids. Always on alert while outside, extremely vigilant in every situation. He will not let someone run up to him screaming.
The easiest dog to train is Collie & Malinois. My favourite of this video is German Shepherd & Border Collie ❤🐕. Can you do: 10 most energetic dog breeds ⚡
It take a real person to be a good ower to there dog. All they need it time and tlc and a good ower that have patience. I have 2 pitbulls girls beautiful baby's girls.
I've had some truly superb European bred working dogs over the last thirty years: Dobes, German Shepherds, and Rotties. They can ALL be fantastic -- it depends on the individual dog more than the breed. It's less a matter of choosing a great breed, and much more a matter of choosing a great dog (or pup). These days (other than my older German Shepherd) my two young dogs are "Shepweilers." My buddy has simply the best male Rottie I've ever seen -- I think, better than most people have ever seen. He bred it to a very solid GSD, and the puppies were and are AMAZING -- and beautiful to look at, too -- long hair, floppy ears, and in the Rottie/Dobe black and mahogany pattern. I'm tremendously pleased with these fantastic working shepweilers.
When I was young, my grandparents owned a border collie bitch. Her name was Tara and she was the most incredible dog I have ever seen. She lived till 16 and was the pick of the litter. My grandparents had so many farmers ask to buy her at insane prices but they still kept her. She would sleep with one eye open and one ear pricked beside me. They managed to train the instinctive sheep herding out of her for walks across farmland. There was only 1 thing she couldn't do- walk on a lead. Put one on and she would pull with all her might. Take it off and she would walk perfectly to heal until told to go run. She and her bread should be #1 on this list.
As other Border Collie owners know, it is the ONLY breed.... so smart, that it is THE breed used in canine intelligence testing worldwide. They can problem solve at the same level as a 6 yr old kid. One BC, named Chaser, could distinguish among over 1,000 different toys with 100% accuracy. So, while the Malinois might be in the backseat of the car, the BC is the one who is driving... with ease.

RIP Mason
Goldens are phenomenal family dogs!
Most of these breeds are bred for a job. Do your research and on the breed and the breeder. All dogs are supposed to be the member of a family. All dogs can be dangerous around children if not socialized always do your research. Keep energy levels in mind. Keep what they are bred for in mind
I did repeat myself on purpose
@Amanda Hibbs
Exactly, that’s the reason so many people have ‘problem’ dogs.
I love the German shepard the most
Quineysha Sorias I feel the same
Quineysha Sorias that’s because they’re the best
Quineysha Sorias Me too, the German Shepherd is the best
But they’re lil stubborn
I have heard that the best toy to give a border collie is a herd of sheep. :)
Katherine Poindexter The best toy to give a German Shepherd is a human arm. :)
@@Charliefox71 that's the same reply for a belgian malinois :)
Corgys love herds of anything
A herd of anything. Give them a group of toddlers and they will herd and protect them.
I gave my border collie small children to herd! Worked wonders.
I went and asked my Dogo Argentino why he was not on this list and he was laying on the couch.I said"oh,that's why .... "
Lol same with my pitbull
Bully breeds are not exactly smart but theyre not dumb either theyre also very stubborn breeds
I snort-laughed
My argentino told me to tell you, he s doing the same Preparing constantly....... to take a nap😂😂😂
@@bickle8931 I got a pit Rott mix very smart she's very stubborn this sums up all bullies
Rottweiler. Smart, Loyal, Obedient and definitely part of the Family. RIP Queen!!
I have seen several of these lists on youTube/internet. This one is the most accurate one I've seen.
My favorite dogbreed is the belgian Malinois. They are sooo freaking awesome.
One day I was sitting on the sofa and my son had left the french door slightly open-, had rained the day b4--she opened the door came running in, jumped in my lap and starting licking me---She loved you and she loved life in general-- Will always miss my Ziva!!!!
to much work
Same
Me too! :)
I have a dog, her name is Pollie, she’s 1/2 poodle, and 1/2 collie, my sister gave her to me, Pollie is the best and smartest dog i ever had. If i am running late for work, she yells at me, to get going, she talks, and last but not least, she’s a mind reader.
Rottweiler is a Stellar breed. I've had the pleasure of owning 2 of them in my lifetime!
When I got mine I overestimated the difficulty training.
He came potty trained and didn't struggle in basic commands.
Maybe be depending on breeder
God bless!
5:10 "these dogs are highly trainable"
Aussie climbs up tree backwards
Trust me, they can do much more than that😉I say this from experience.
My Aussie is brilliant
I have a Belgian Malinois and hes so kind and so strong 💪 😍
My aussie was a pleasure to train and learned basic commands, at 12 weeks old, in about 3 days. We moved on to advanced field training/games to keep her sharp and she loved those "games". Extremely loving, obedient, protective but not aggressive, but high energy. She lived to 20. Aussies are similar to Border Collies in intelligence and temperament - both are herding breeds.
All of my favorite dogs have been aussie/border collie mixes. They’re fantastic dogs.
If you don’t mind fur here and there the King Shepherd is a total delight. Smart, obedient, quick learning, affectionate, playful and protective. And gorgeous. Fluffy and majestic. They get a lot of attention for their size and beauty.
Nice info!!The ROTTWEILER is the best. What they said about the Rottie is all true!!(Shout Out from TEAM ROTTIE) ! :)
Yeah furrend 🥰!
German shepherd is better
Donald Stroupe Imma agree but I love both breeds but maybe when I get a Rottie I’ll love both breeds equally
ya baby!!! team rottie member here! ill never get another breed
Rottie is stubborn you inexperienced first time owners....see for yourself
My GSD is getting to be my best friend; he is faithful to the roots, likes praising and sociability to death. He has high self respect, self dignity and very strong personality but he will kill himself to keep you happy.
GSD learn very fast but they need lot of time, effort and attention from their owners.
Same for my doberman
Australian Cattledog was THE smartest dog my family has had, as well as I've met. Never once took her to a class.
Lol yes, I was like where is my ACD?? She's wicked smart...often ahead of me :D
The music really helps sell viewers on these dogs. It's so epic.
I love German Shepherds also..I have three of them
I've had a Doberman (rescue dog).
I have black labrador
He easily learned the tricks
He is very intelligent
I love him
He is famous in my area for his tricks
Many kids came to shake hand with him🤣
But he is always hungry
Edit: thanks for likes😇
So are you saying he ate the kids 🤔
I've had 3 German Shepherd dogs and just lost my 12 1/2 year old to Hemangio Sarcoma. Such a loss. Love this breed and they become your best friend. Not sure if I get another dog for some time.
Just got a Belgian Mallionois puppy two days ago and I’m really excited
update ?
Can you give us an update, I am thinking about getting one, I've heard they need loads of excercise ect.
Awesome dogs! Big responsibility too
I've got a mutt puppy from a shelter that found a stray female dog that gave birth. Learned all commands I trained her, she is hyper energetic when we are out of the house (obedient, just full energy) and couch potato when at home. It's like the perfect combo. Only problem I have right now is house training (during night)
The easiest dog for training is border collie , but my personal is German shepherd
If collie is very good then why the fuckin dog did not used in the military or police K9? Come on....
@@thunderabrau2969 becouse bc arnt gaurd dogs
@@thunderabrau2969 Yup I agree. if they are so smart how come they're not chosen. Labradors are not guard dogs too but they are still part of K9. Belgian Malinois over German Shepherd though. German Shepherds are overrated
My staffie was a joy to train, as she is very food and play motivated. Plus she is so affectionate and funny. My grandparents had a german shepard when I was a kid and that dog followed me everywhere as my personal protector!
Labrador retriever is amazing
I am so happy with my 8 week old Belgian malinois he is so smart. Unbelievable how he is easily trainable.
Best Cold Weather Dogs/ Best Warm Weather dogs plz! I love these
I have a beautiful German Shepard and I love her
This is a great list to have. Thank you for this. I already decided on a poodle for my service dog, but now I know what to look at for the therapy dog training as well.
I like the German Shepard and malinois
Team Doberman! very intelligent dogs
jb17x2222 - loyal, loving, alert...the list is endless. you’ll never find a better friend
I love the last dog .🥰🥰😍😍
My girl is 2/3 GSD and 1/3 Malinois. She's incredibly smart and loves to learn/be a good girl!
2 rotties here and amazing dog.
I had no issue training it and very little patience needed.
My female earned her good citizen and working towards emotional support.
While my male is a bit aloof and fearless guardian how he should be.
rottie GANG!
ROTTWEILER GANG 😁😁😁 my Rottweiler knows her name and many tricks and she is 8 weeks old. A fearless dog and the cutest one.
So cute and trainable
Thanks for the info. Doberman is the best breed. Easy to train, brainy, friendly, and extremely loyal.
WE LOVE DOGS !!!!!!
I have a minature schnauzer and shes SOOOO smart!!
I had a Malinois for 8 years. AMAZING breed, so intelligent
That’s nice exept for the fact it only lived 8yrs
We have two Golden’s and a German Shepherd/Malinois cross. They’re the best dogs!
Love Mals, Shepherds and Golden Retrievers---I bet they are beautiful!!!!
What a cross! Seems like a super cross!
i got a rotweiler they hella lit n fun to play with
Our shepherd Brandy was smart as hell all you had to do was show her how to do something once or twice and she learned it and she was protected of my daughter🤔😲🐕💞😘
Our toy poodle is our favourite. So easy to train. Relaxed, wants to be with so never wanders far when off the leash, affectionate and just needs one long walk or maybe two 1/2 hour walks a day. ❤️
The Australian cattle dog (kelpie) should of been on this list.
I have a chihuahua mix and a Siberian Husky. The husky is very wolf like, but she’s super affectionate. The chihuahua barks a lot and is overly excited. They’re both entertaining and beautiful.
The American staffordshire is also good to Train and they are so lovely !
All dogs are!!!!
@@crickets.scareme yeah .. but some breeds need a sovereign owner
mb mb that’s true and SOME PEOPLE KNOW THAT AND STILL GET THOSE BREEDS!!!😡
@@crickets.scareme unfortunately yes 😔😔 they should test humans before they want to get a dog
Best dogs ever
Good stuff man! Keep it rolling!
I would like to have eager-to-please and intelligent coworkers.
LOL Wouldn't we all
I have an American bulldog. Excellent dog. Very underrated
I think that is easier to train German Sheperd then Malionis.
Ditto
I think Malinois look better
Dape Kozar I’m trying to adopt a German Shepard dog right now as of Jul 12, 2020. I hope to find one soon
I hv a Doberman. Amazing guard, family member. Simply fabulous breed
The easiest dog to train is Collie & Malinois. My favourite of this video is German Shepherd & Border Collie ❤🐕.
Can you do: 10 most energetic dog breeds ⚡
@Rebecca Dew yes, i know it 🐕❤
@Rebecca Dew yes i have and i love him so MUCH!🤗🐕
Australian Shepherds are brilliant!
I love the malinois dog❤
One like from kerala 👍
I have a female half German, half Belgian shepherd (Malinoa), she is smarter than many humans I know 😂
Malinois #1.
Border collie #1 in training!
Yes
Any dog can be trainable. My dads dog was an alangu mastiff but was the most friendly yet fierce dog I ever knew
Number 1 is german shepherd
Romal Teena a Caucasian is part
Its actually the border collie
Romal Teena German Shepherd has loyalty and bite force. The collie has intelligence. The GSD is the 3rd smartest dog breed so it’s still very smart
Nope! Belgian Malinois is #1 more agile and faster compares to GSD.
Best backround music ever! Thanks for the great vid!
It take a real person to be a good ower to there dog. All they need it time and tlc and a good ower that have patience. I have 2 pitbulls girls beautiful baby's girls.
L.valdez Rios you are brave lol I have a girl now always had boys never had a problem. But this girl is going to be a task lol worth every min.
My cane corso was 2 months old when she learned how to sit and give you a paw
My favourite dog😍😍😍
Yes 100% agree that Belgian Malinois is in the number 1 spot.
Doberman & Rottweiler
Rotterman!
So, while the Malinois might be in the backseat of the car, the BC is the one who is driving... with ease.
Yes... This is the first time, I've seen a list of dog intelligent breeds where the Border Collie wasn't at Number 1. (Poodle owner)
Thought collies and Shetland sheep dogs would be there somewhere. Both super intelligent. Amazed yes I am
German Shepherd s 🐕♥️ are number 1 beautiful loving ranked 3inteligence 145 dog breeds loyal 😊👍
Isabella Pandora what about belgian malinois?
May May The German Shepherd is the 3rd smartest dog breed in the world. The Mal is like 5th or 6th. Also the GSD is more loyal
