MOST EXCELLENT WORK!! Dear Dr. Marshall, I ordered your book, "Infiltration: The Plot to Destroy the Church" via a "MATERIALS SUGGESTION FOR PURCHASE FORM" from my local library; I suggest everyone do likewise, so that it is in their local library too, where it belongs! That said, I believe your attitude towards MACCABEE as being a role model for Christians to emulate is, without an appropriate compensatory explanation, irresponsible. Plus I have heard that the MACCABEEs are thought to be judaizing Nephilim in the same sense St. Paul referred to judaizers, usurpers of the proper priesthood, which should be chronicled, not hidden, so it really does belong in the canon, just properly noted. Request Clarification, we have room to reason, Thanks Dr. Marshall !!!
have a question for you. Do Jews at the time of Jesus name their children their own name. Like I'm a Jew and my name is Judah and I gave birth to a son. Is it in the tradition of the Jews to name the child my name Judah
Do you know if it is a sin not to tell someone if they are committing a sin? (If it is, does it include everyone, Non-Catholic, Catholic, non Christian) Thank you :)
The Maccabees has been one of my favorite Old Testament stories. The sacrifice of the mother and seven sons somewhat reminds me of the bakers and florists who are being taken to court becasue they refuse to make a same sex cakes or arrange flowers for same sex weddings.
Dear Dr. Marshall, the Jews do not consider Maccabee books as holy. Don't you think that the Jews should be able to decide their own canon? Just asking for a friend.
The Church didn't determine the canon for the Jews. The Church set the canon of Scripture for Christians and Christianity. The Church determined what books were acceptable to be read in Mass. This list of books became known as "the books", or "bible" in Greek.
@@bobinindiana Did you actually read what I wrote? And it doesn't matter what the Jews decide. They hold no authority from God. The Church holds authority from God.
@@petertalsness3238 that makes sense. My RCIA instructor said my Bible wasn’t the Catholic version - it’s a New Living Translation. Which is a good Catholic one?
{2:21} Propitius sit nobis Deus: non est nobis utile relinquere legem, et iustitias Dei: {2:21} May God be forgiving to us. It is not useful for us to abandon the law and the justices of God.
There wasn't a single normative version of Judaism until well into the Christian era, so there was no single normative canon. Then one sect emerged and dominated all the others, long after Christ's death, and they closed the canon and omitted books that were too Christian. I believe an important question for Protestants is, "Why do you insist on a version of the Bible that matches Jews' version? The Jews reject Christ!" Gary Michuta wrote a great book entitled, "Why Catholic Bibles are Bigger" and he goes through the entire history of the canon.
@@ellobo4211 I really don't know what the Jews look to today. I've been thinking about studying it though to understand better about the origins of the Mass. Catholics who convert from Judaism say that the Mass is very Jewish. One source I am going to look to is Roy Schoeman.
@@ellobo4211 I've watched part of a debate with him and Dr. E. Michael Jones (an incredible and knowledgeable Catholic) but not the whole thing. I need to watch it all. He said, "People have a greater appreciation for things they choose, than the things they are born into." "Maccabee" is a mistranslation. Juday's real title was simple "Yehuda haMatsbee", Judah the Leader. The Greek language did not have the 'ts' Tsaid sound, so they substituted a double kappa. There's no hammer involved. Goto to Thor is you want a hammer.
We defeat Satan and Demons by holding YOURSELF accountable as these are your lower selves . You have to know this was a scare tactic created by Roman Catholicism. The Greek god Pan . There’s your devil. Created just like Jesus was at the council of nicea 325 AD. Who is Serapis? 😂😂

@Caroline Schönheim I have to Ask, was the temple torn down by the Romans around 70AD?
6:50 "Maccabean Greeks"
Hey Dr, there is an error at 6:51. Maccabee greek or macedonian greek ;)
Moises etablished 6 feaat. There were 7 feast plua the weekly sabbath.
The Maccabees has been one of my favorite Old Testament stories. The sacrifice of the mother and seven sons somewhat reminds me of the bakers and florists who are being taken to court becasue they refuse to make a same sex cakes or arrange flowers for same sex weddings.
Why isnt it explained how they took their freedom back, to bloody?
6:50 you wright down Macedonian Greeks which is correct but you Miss say it as Maccabeen Greeks
Vodka: Probably just a slip of the tongue. :)
Dear Dr. Marshall, the Jews do not consider Maccabee books as holy. Don't you think that the Jews should be able to decide their own canon? Just asking for a friend.
@@AveChristusRex My question is about Jewish canon and not about Christian canon. Just asking for a friend.
@Erin Aboudara, yeah, Jews don't accept your canon, do they? Just asking for a friend. 🌏🌎🌍
The Church didn't determine the canon for the Jews. The Church set the canon of Scripture for Christians and Christianity. The Church determined what books were acceptable to be read in Mass. This list of books became known as "the books", or "bible" in Greek.
@@habituallinestepper9879 No, they RCC did not determine the canon for the Jews. The Jews determined their own canon.
@@bobinindiana Did you actually read what I wrote?
And it doesn't matter what the Jews decide. They hold no authority from God. The Church holds authority from God.
Hold on, so Troy and Sparta were Jewish settlements?
Is Taylor Marshall Catholic?? You bet your Maccabee!
I don’t see this in my Bible.... am I missing something?
You must have a protestant version then. You are missing 7 books.
@@petertalsness3238 that makes sense. My RCIA instructor said my Bible wasn’t the Catholic version - it’s a New Living Translation. Which is a good Catholic one?
@@katiejon17 The Douay Rheims Bible is still the most eloquent version. I would go with that version.
{2:21} Propitius sit nobis Deus: non est nobis utile relinquere legem, et iustitias Dei:
{2:21} May God be forgiving to us. It is not useful for us to abandon the law and the justices of God.
really macabbee fav book? Genesis and Job shows Yahwehs's majestic power
Why did Jews ommit these books ?
There wasn't a single normative version of Judaism until well into the Christian era, so there was no single normative canon. Then one sect emerged and dominated all the others, long after Christ's death, and they closed the canon and omitted books that were too Christian.
I believe an important question for Protestants is, "Why do you insist on a version of the Bible that matches Jews' version? The Jews reject Christ!"
Gary Michuta wrote a great book entitled, "Why Catholic Bibles are Bigger" and he goes through the entire history of the canon.
@@julieelizabeth4856 that's very true ..are there Jews today you think that hold to the Septuagint?
@@ellobo4211 I really don't know what the Jews look to today. I've been thinking about studying it though to understand better about the origins of the Mass. Catholics who convert from Judaism say that the Mass is very Jewish. One source I am going to look to is Roy Schoeman.

@@ellobo4211 I've watched part of a debate with him and Dr. E. Michael Jones (an incredible and knowledgeable Catholic) but not the whole thing. I need to watch it all. I don't know if Dr. Brown was a devout Jew or just cultural. Roy Schoeman admits to being cultural and agnostic before his conversion. Yes it's good to know the other side's point of view. I also follow David L. Gray. He made an excellent point in response to one of my comments on his channel. He said, "People have a greater appreciation for things they choose, than the things they are born into." Although as a cradle Catholic I refuse to give up my inheritance just because it was handed down poorly. I'm figuring out what I should have been taught long ago.
Purgatory!!!!!
6:49 correctly: 'macedonian' (not 'maccabean').

Why would you want to be like the people who murdered someone for a different religious view. Don’t know why I’m asking a catholic that though, you guys are very behind on the morality thing
Come out of her.
"Maccabee" is a mistranslation.
