Everyone talks about Di Stéfano, saying he should be on the list. Di Stéfano didn't contribute much to the Argentine national team and chose to represent the Spanish national team over his country. As for Dibu Martínez, the list does not include goalkeepers.
the only country with which di stefano won a trophy was with argentina , the only reason he became a spanish citizen was to open a foreigner slot in real madrid
Wrong. He didn't choose, it was much more difficult back then to play both in spanish league, and then come to Argentina and train with national team.
Don't know too much about old players, so Aimar and Veron out, Fillol would be 7-4 place and Ruggeri at 10-6. Fillol won 1978 world cup, 7 Argentine Primera División, one Copa Libertadores runner-up. Individually he got second place in South American Player of the Year(the SA version of Ballon d'or, considering he is a GK, very impressive) 3 times: 1978, 1983, 1984 and has been All-Star Team and Golden Glove in 1978 WC. Ruggeri also won 1978 world cup with 2 Copa América, one Copa Libertadores, 6 Argentine Primera División and 2 La liga. Individully he got South American Footballer of the Year in 1991 (again, SA Ballon d'or), Best Player and All-star Team of Copa América, Best Foreign Player of La Liga.
@abidhassan3518 The award that Maradona received in 1996 was an honorary award, not the traditional Ballon d'Or that is given annually to the best player in the world. This award was a special tribute to him by France Football magazine in recognition of his distinguished career and achievements in the world of football, especially since he was not eligible to win the original Ballon d'Or when he was a player.
Where is Di Stéfano? He played as a teenager in one of the best Argentine generations in history. But, as Argentina decided not to attend the WC in 1950-54, he decided to play for Spain. It was a hard and difficult decision. By the way, when Argentina beat Italy on penalties in Italy '90 Di Stéfano cried with joy in the broadcast booth!

@ddrible.

Great video! Some observations: Simeone began his carreer in Velez Sarsfield. Also, Zanetti played in Talleres de Remedios de Escalada, not Talleres de Cordoba.
A very modern oriented and silly list, even thoughu I'm not fond of rankings, yet the omission of players like Sivori, Di Stefano and amny oldies it's quite a crime
Maradona is better in terms of skill, talent, passing, shooting, dribbling, playmaking, tackling, leadership, etc. Messi is nowhere near as good as Diego. This list is embarrassing.
You say that Di Stefano didn't contribute to the national team. And the same could be said about Sivori. But there were 2 players from the past that should be included in the list. Luisito Monti who played 2 consecutive WC finals in 1930 and 1934 with 2 different teams (Argentina and Italy, this time becoming world champion) and especially Mumo Orsi who was voted as the best player of the 1928 Olympics, winning the silver medal with Argentina, before becoming world champion with Italy in 1934. Granted, these are players from an ancient era, but so is Moreno
Excellent video! As an Argentinian, I would have included goalkeepers Fillol and Dibu Martinez. And what about Ardiles and Canniggia! Verón, Simeone and Aimar could have been ruled out. But there could be zillions of lists, couldn't there? Nice work and excellent comments!
Definitely Messi is outstanding in overall results, and possibly (not undoubtedly) in terms of dribbling skills. But! If I could pick who would I want to see in the Argentine team at the height of his career, it would surely be Maradona, no question for me about that. Maradona's way of playing is so much more entertaining than Messi's, with way more surprising and unpredictable moves, better overall ball handling, and it looks even more natural...
I always Said , about stetic, Messi is in the bottom , and people confuse because he is less stetic others are better than him . Agree with You Ronaldinho, Maradona, Ronaldo, all are great players and stetically pleasing more than Messi.
Messi don't need to do crazy things because he solve everything with his brain, he simplify everything, and take the Best decisión and that is less entertaining.
@@mem5860he doesnt need crazy Things because he played in a weak defensive era with an average goals per game ratio as high as in Peles time. If defender cant Touch u as they did in the 80s, 90s or until mid 00s, then of course just running past restricted defender is enough
@@mem5860 of course it matters. The weaker the resistance/defense the less is the individuallity. Thats why all player today Look robotic and dont need any skills to overcome defender. Messi struggled with his style in his first few years when defender as nesta, Cannavaro or maldini still could use tough tackles and bodychecks. From mid 00s on the refs softened the game, each slight Touch got punished. Physicality got lost. Cr7 didnt score much goals in his first years aswell because he struggled. Messi and cr7 started to score a lot of goals around the same time. There were many attacker beside the 2 of them which Hit the 30+ goal mark easily which was hard to reach until mid 00s. Cr7 even realized at some point that he doesnt need skill moves anymore to be successful, outrunning helpless defender and abusing their blind Spot was enough. Maldini played in both eras. Watch some of his Highlights and pay attention how he defended in his younger years and how he adapted to the soft rules at the end of his career. Quiete the difference
I thought Buruchaga could have also made it to this list but ofcourse it depends on goals and passes. 1986 world cup Argentina vs Brasil... I still remember Brasil was excellent but one pass from Diego to Buruchaga changed the history.

In my personal opinion, Maradona belongs to the world. He is undoubtedly the inspiration for all aspiring football players.
For modern aspiring football players, the main source of inspiration is Messi and Ronaldo. Most of them haven't even seen Maradona on RUclips:)
How the hell are you gonna put Messi above Maradona? 😮
This list is sadly wrong. You missed key players like Bochini or Labruna, Burruchaga, Filliol, Sívori, Di Stefano, Perfumo, Ruggeri, Houseman, Alonso, Dibu Martinez, Sastre and the list goes on and on...
dibu martinez?? Not yet
Even Di Maria is put too high. He is top 10 for sure but not 4th for sure. Recency bias
@@Inquisitive_Nomad Argentina has 3 WC and in one of them Martinez was Second or third most important player and he still can win things for Argentina so. He's currently top 20 for sure. Third Best GK ( Carrizo and Filliol first) but he can be top 1
Maradona, Redondo, Caniggia, Batitusta and Kempes, my favs.
oh by the way GREAT VIDEO👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
A country with a lot of passion
You forgot Distefano, Fillol and Sivori. Anyway very good list indeed.
Messi/Maradona/Kempes/Distefano/Sivori/Dimaria/Fillol/Pasarella/Aguero/Batistuta/Caniggia/Ardiles/Dibu Martinez/Riquelme/Redondo/Ramon Diaz/Bochini/Bianchi/Rugeri/Tevez.
We have good "raw material" in these lands for this and other sports
!!!!VAMOS ARGENTINA¡¡¡¡🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Why do you ask the obvious? Look at the statistics. Nobody comes close to Messi. You should also have said that Maradona played the FIFA final of 1990, and Messi played the final of 2014. But in terms of statistics, Maradona has less than 50% of what Messi has whether goals, assists for both clubs and national team.
Once upon a time no one even followed football statistics. People judged players by watching them play alone.
Of course you can't know that. You're probably a kid.
Absolutely true messi number 1 best player in the world
I never never seen like him 8 times golden balon 3 times World Cup best players win ……. God blessings 🎉
Messi,Di Maria, Emi Martinez,Maradona, Julian Alvarez,Kun Aguero..
Messi and Maradona“s speciality is same
DiStefano is also argentinian!
Men, you can't forget Di Stefano ! Are you kidding me?! He is probably in the top 5 of football history !
just 6 matches with argentina national team
@@matias3550 yeah, and his only international title with a country. LOL he only arrived at Spain when he was 23, he was obviously Argentinian.
Messi has more accolades but Maradona was godlike with the ball.
For me Messi is everything ❤❤❤❤❤
Bro please spell their names right, I laughed my a** off at "Batistelli" and "Hernand Crespo"
Edit: I just saw the "Juan Ramón Reyes" instead of Juan Román Riquelme. Are you high or smth? If anyone from Boca has seen that, I fear for your safety.
I was wondering how could you make a list of top 20 best Argentine Footballer without enlisting Dibu Martinez 😮😮.. He should be placed in top 5 list..
Another correction, the nickname for Moreno was El Charro, not El Chorro
Haha,Chorro in Argentina mean thief
please remove Higuain from this list. Not only the world cup he did the same thing in Copa America final as well.
Exactly, higuain was so overrated and if Tevez had been picked instead of him in 2014 Argentina would have definitely won the World Cup
Higuain over Tevez is crazy
true
Yes, really crazy
Yes
Houseman, Burruchaga, Bochini, Brindisi, Ramón Díaz, Labruna, Rojitas, Corbatta, Perfumo, Marzolini, Pinino Mas....faltan muchos.
Yes
Videazo
Love Maradona...❤
But
Messi is emotion..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wait he actually listened to the fans yay:)
Edit: Where is Di Stefano? Also can u now do top 20 German or Italian players now?
Maybe in the future. Right now there are other ideas to work on 😊
@@ddriiblebro i think maradona never won a ballondor
@abidhassan3518 The award that Maradona received in 1996 was an honorary award, not the traditional Ballon d'Or that is given annually to the best player in the world. This award was a special tribute to him by France Football magazine in recognition of his distinguished career and achievements in the world of football, especially since he was not eligible to win the original Ballon d'Or when he was a player.
@@ddriible yeah but you said ballond'or so i was just saying for classification 🫠
@@ddriible ok
3:14 Veron was from England
Exactly, Veron was a British double agent. Not Argentine at all.
Emi Martinez definitely deserves a place.
Don’t forget Hector Enrique!!! Great star of River Plate during the 80s. And also an important role during the World Cup 86

Ohhhhhh I thought you meant the real ballon dor lol 😂
@ddrible.
Maradona couldn’t get the ballon d or because at that time the ballon d or was only given to European players
Starting the renting with Valdano showing a picture of Zamorano & Amavisca, both having Valdano as coach
This is my top 10 list
1. Lionel Messi
2. Diego Maradona
3. Alfredo di Stefano
4. Gabriel Batistuta
5. Javier Zanetti
6. Ángel Di María
7. Carlos Tevez
8. Sergio Agüero
9. Hernán Crespo
10. Gonzálo Higuaín
That’s harsh putting aguero at 8
@somuchtolearn2522.
Porner a Higuaín pfff
Higuain trash
Vamos Argentina 🇦🇷 carajo!
but fire edit awesome vid and u just earn urself a subscriber
Great video!
Some observations: Simeone began his carreer in Velez Sarsfield. Also, Zanetti played in Talleres de Remedios de Escalada, not Talleres de Cordoba.
A very modern oriented and silly list, even thoughu I'm not fond of rankings, yet the omission of players like Sivori, Di Stefano and amny oldies it's quite a crime
Pele is still the best... 3 world cups
Messi is the goat and after 2022 WC, it is virtually impossible to find any point on which Maradona is superior than Messi.
Maradona is better in terms of skill, talent, passing, shooting, dribbling, playmaking, tackling, leadership, etc. Messi is nowhere near as good as Diego. This list is embarrassing.
Maradona is best hands down
Good list, I think you should added Di Stefano, Sivori, Maschio, Monti and others. But many thanks, anyway
Μaradona no 1
First like😊
You say that Di Stefano didn't contribute to the national team.
Moreno was named "the Charro", not the chorro....
Excellent video! As an Argentinian, I would have included goalkeepers Fillol and Dibu Martinez. And what about Ardiles and Canniggia! Verón, Simeone and Aimar could have been ruled out. But there could be zillions of lists, couldn't there? Nice work and excellent comments!
sacaria a Simeone y pondria a Bochini!
Now can you do top 20 England players🏴
Claudio Caniggia...???
@@Dacio1202 how the style of play have to do with defense . Make absolutely no sense. Everyone one have their style , doesnt matter they defense
Undoubtedly it's Messi - the GOAT
the difference in numbers with messi and the rest of Argentinian players is just mind blowing
You didn't mentioned Messi's assists with argentina ?
58
There's a mistake with Kempes
He played in Instituto, not Central Cordoba
Messi and Ronaldo are the goat 🐐
🐐
I thought Buruchaga could have also made it to this list but ofcourse it depends on goals and passes. 1986 world cup Argentina vs Brasil... I still remember Brasil was excellent but one pass from Diego to Buruchaga changed the history.
Great video! I have many observations that my comrades are mentioning in the comments: Where's Ricardo Enrique Bochini; WC & multi libertadores champion, Sívori, Di Stéfano, the TRINCHE CARLOVICH!!!
It's a never ending story and I love it.
