I've used Panasonic for years but picked up an OM-1 last year. It's great for photography. That's primarily what I work with, so it works for me. I realize Panasonic is better for video. Though with the M43 offerings now, it does mean the format is still relevant. Both brands are still releasing new lenses, also. One thing I like about the format is how it forces you to get creative, think things through, and work to get the photos/videos you want. It's also a lot of fun, somehow. I can't explain it. Thank you for your thoughts on the subject. I haven't used FF in years, so it's an interesting contrast. I appreciate that you see the positives of both size standards and use both.
I think as sensor tech gets better- MFT will be preferred over apsc and full frame because of the smaller lenses. I mean look how good cell phone cameras are now with their tiny sensors
The GH5ii would be a better option (if you can stretch the budget a bit) as it has a newer processor and can be improved with firmware updates (as they have just done) giving it a longer lease whereas the GH5 has reached the end of the line regarding firmware updates. I saw one on eBay for just over £700 and thought about it a bit too long 🤦♂️
