2017 6 Metre "RRegatta"

Take a look at these stunning yachts sailing in Finland! The 6 Metre, or 6m class date back to 1907 and were an Olympic Sailing class for a long time. They are among the most beautiful boats in the world and almost all of the original designs are still sailing today, beautifully restored to pristine condition!
Hartas Productions was in Finland to film these amazing boats as they competed in the "RRegatta" hosted at ESF in Esbo.

They ARE beautiful. We just had a regatta in Vancouver, Canada. I know if I was on board as crew I just wouldn't be able to resist sneaking a fishing line in the water as we sailed. You never know.......

Those are so beautiful. I suppose they are 6 meters waterline, right ? Because they look longer than that ?

The 6 has nothing to do with length but is the result of a formula that takes into account waterline length, girth, sail area - the following is a link to a better explanation: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_rule_(sailing)
