I tried this for three weeks on my large Fuerte tree. The new fruit set is incredible. Hundreds of pea sized avocados are on my tree right now! Thank you.
Fuerte is a type B avocado. Is that the only tree you have on your property or do you or your nearby neighbors has a type A avocado tree to help with your Fuerte's pollination?
Quantum Chang if you spray your tree with honey you don’t need A and B trees to get fruit set. The main problem is bees aren’t attracted to avocado blossoms. And it worsens if there citrus near because they often bloom at same time e
I found the answer thank you. 1/4 cup honey to 32oz water. Spray over the top. Bees will clean it up. I planted a young tree 3 years ago. It just died this summer due to grubs. I took care of the grubs I hope. I will be planting a new tree soon.
If humidity is low avocados need a lot of water water it then water it some more your tree will love you they are very thirsty trees despite what books say.
I use Tiger 90 sulphur. You can get 50 lbs for $50 with shipping. Shipping is half the cost. It breaks down into sulphuric acid which converts hard caliche into gypsum.
Thank you 🙏🏻 for the great tip I will definitely try this when is best time for the acidic ever stone to be added how much to use and is chicken manure u said was acidic then adding en stone too much? I’m in SoCal. That’s all fertilizer u use? Is this be stone good for all other fruits like pomelos guavas longans citruses 🙏🏻 thank you
Perhaps this might be a way to harness the avocado industy....and use them to help the bees recover (from being an endangered species) ....It would take convincing avocado growers to keep non-harvest (or fractional spray-harvest) bee colonies....The bees would increase the yields...which could fund more recovery refuge hives...and the bee and avocado could gain a synergy.....Good idea?
There are numerous toxins etc that could be effecting bee populations, that greatly impacts recovery and survival in general. GMO pollen, pesticides/herbicides, EMFs & geoengineering methods such as "cloud seeding" (radioactive metals, biologicals etc) are just a few. But if that can miraculously be stopped, then yeah. Excellent idea man! And probably worth doing anyway. Some very remote locations may be less impacted by those things I mentioned (as well as others) and someones gotta at least try to preserve the truly organic plants, wildlife and even human nature, before it's to late.
Pollinating more than usual only works if your tree does not drop any fruit. If the trees drop excess fruit then you need no further pollination because the tree can only handle a certain amount of fruit and will drop the excess anyway, rendering the process futile.
If you have bees in your neighborhood, they will find it and clean it up that day. Like I explained in my first post, bees have no tolerance for honey being outside the hive. They will mobilize the hive to clean it up. That is when they discover the flowers if they are there.
Thanks Phil i heard this can be done for mango trees as well but mango trees main pollinators are flies. Hey please make some more videos i quite enjoyed thiis one
So, if you read previous comments you will learn that the flower changes sex about noon. That means that the bee needs to be working the flowers before and after noon. Use the honey water method for the first week the flowers open. There must be bees in your area.
The A TYPE avocado tree like the HAAS: 1st. Day flower opens it is active female in morning only. 2nd day same flower opens in afternoon it is male. The B type avocado tree like the FUERTA: 1st. Day flower opens in morning it is male. 2nd. Day in afternoon it is female. But you have to remember there are a lot of flowers on that tree and they start to open on different days. So the timing is around noon time when one is opening and one is closing. So if you get bees there in morning to afternoon they can get both. Example: Day 1, AM flower NO. 1. is female. Day 2, AM another flower is female but NO. 1 flower is male in afternoon. So noon time is the key you have one closing while one is opening and the bees can get both.
Great video, I have an Etinger Avocado in Israel, Last year I got hundreds of flowers and small Avocados, but most of them fell, and only 6 survived. They were huge and delicious. How can I get much more to hang on this year? Thanks Blessings.
Beit, my neighbors expressed the same problem. I think it is my soil management that helps produce my avocados. Avocados came from volcanic acidic soil conditions, so I give my tree a dose of sulfur chips twice a year with a seed spreader to acidify the soil. You can buy bags of it on the web. I also give it calcium. A product called Ironite will give it calcium. Last, I never clean up the dead leaves under the tree.
Hello , congratulations on your tree it looks beautiful with all those avocados. I have a question what is the ratio of honey and water ? Also what type of honey do use . Thanks
You have it right. I spray all around every day for a few days to get the hive trained. Need the bees there at noon when the flowers change sex. New posts coming soon.
It is my understanding that the bees need to carrying pollen picked up before noon when the tree's flowers change sex at or just after noon. Don't quote me.

So my avocado tree currently has about 200 to 300 grape size fruit. When they are full grown I start picking about four a week until they are gone or almost a year sometimes. Avocados don't ripen until picked. It takes about five days to ripen. Commercial growers pick all of the fruit at one time.
I leave my avocados on the tree and pick them as I eat them. I pick about 4 per week. They will just hang there waiting their turn to be consumed. After picking, I set them on my kitchen counter and they ripen in about a week, then I put them in the frig.
No. You increase acidity by spreading sulfur chips. Buy them on line or at Lowes. Online is cheaper. Don't over do it. It takes a few months for the PH to change. I make one pass once per year with a seed spreader. I will post a video soon about this.
I am so sorry to hear this. For an avocado tree to survive rood disease, it must be grafted onto a different root system. Buy one at a nursery store or be very disappointed later.
Juan, as I explained in the video, the bees in your neighborhood are busy working on someone else's flowers. Give this a few days to get them alerted to your tree. They will come.
I live in Fallbrook for over 20 years now and now i have 4 avocadoes. Since 2014 the amount of bees i see spring and summer has gone down a lot. I do see 3 or 4 bees around my trees daily. I have spayed the young trees twice now. Next week will be another spraying. Lets hope these boys stsy around. Just found 3 small fruits on my mexicola grande.
I solved the bee decline by building wild bee habitats and placing them in nearby canyons. Bees swarm and make new hives in them every spring and fall. It looks like a bee hive box but without the combs and bigger. I glue cement board together. Make the opening small or wax moths get in and destroy it.
Cuban, if you read some of the other comments below, I have already addressed this problem. One, you have no bees in your neighborhood, or two, you didn't spay the honey water an hour or less before 12 noon so that the same bees are on the flowers when they change sex at noon.
