She's probably a narcissist, which means she only cares for him as something she owns. He's like an object or a plaything that supplies her with appreciation, affection, attention, etc. She likely doesn't care about him beyond him being an extension of herself. Sort of how like a normal person might treat a phone; it gives you entertainment, but if you lost it or it got damaged you'd just think things like "well that money I paid for it is now wasted" or "it's annoying I don't have a phone, better go get another one". You don't have any actual care or empathy for the phone, because it's just an object/a tool. That's how narcissists and sociopaths see other people.
