Overall, a great concept with real promise. One thing I’ve found almost all trailers lack (not just teardrops), is a decent workstation. I’d love to see the bench seat have a supportive backrest and a sturdy/adjustable computer table accessory. It’s 2023 and lots of us have remote work providing the flexibility to work from anywhere, but finding a small off road capable trailer that you can sometimes work in is very difficult. They generally end up being the equivalent of sitting cross legged on a mattress with your computer on your lap. This Square trailer has the space to make it happen. I know we are not the only ones out there interested in a go anywhere trailer that can help us work from anywhere.
Love that Drew is in with Bean on this first ever trip. What a great group of people.
The trip was amazing! I underestimated where I could go in a teardrop
I like that the body extends over the tires so there is very little fender sticking out from the body. Folks with kids or dogs or both will like it for sure.
Ohhhhh finally something for bigger families! Please keep going Bean! Gotta love the classic teardrop look though!
Agreed on both statements. Love where they’re heading, but I also love the classic teardrop look. Something for everyone
As someone with two teenagers, this would be great.
Agreed. I stayed in it with Brigham's family and it felt like a ton of space. It is a camper for more than just 2 grown adults. Usually they are just built for 2 adults and kids.
Show! Very cool! Congratulations on the presentation! Unfortunately, I couldn't get some data from it, such as: total gross weight, dimensions (length, width and height). Could you inform? Grateful.
I’m looking forward to how this version develops. There is a lot to love about the extra interior space.
Me too! I’m hoping we get a lot of feedback here in the comments. I think the bean team will probably make some adjustments based on it. they seemed really open to the public getting a peek, so they can have some possible say in the design.
I really like it. It gives you the best of both worlds. Just small enough to get off the beaten path but large enough to make it comfortable for a small family. I love teardrops but we have to admit sometimes there are rainy days. This one checks off all of the boxes and then some.
That is exactly how I feel about this little/big camper. What they did here is what Charles and I have been trying to do with our family's trailer. But, Bean did it in 3 months! They got a crazy good team.
Bean: build and sell the concept. Make sure the pop top is insulated enough to be able to air condition the inside. Add a hitch in the rear for bikes or outside storage. Keep the base price under $30k. Make sure there’s enough room inside for a big dog
Great feedback. I appreciate you taking the time. I think the big dog would have done great with this trailer.
I expect this to cost $60K...sorry.
Yes. This is perfect for a couple with a dog or a small family. The base price under $30k is what will really sell it.
Drew- thanks for the review! LOVE IT! REALLY hoping BEAN gives this some serious consideration.
Here’s why its appealing… for us older folks (50+) who still firmly believe in small camping/ living but have aging bodies, the ability to stand while in an enclosed space is a VERY GOOD thing!
This is still tiny to make it over a variety of challenging terrain- but big enough for me, wife and a few grandkids to be in.
Looking forward to seeing more about this!
Love hearing this. Fun knowing this hits multiple demographics. We thought the same thing when developing our trailer with Charles. I think a trailer like this makes a lot of sense for someone 50+.
My wife and I are in our 70's. We've been active in "overlanding" for close to 50 years. We are looking for ways to keep these old bones active in this field. I have an Overland Kitchen with LifeSaver jerry cans in the rear of our 4Runner. We don't need a kitchen setup in a trailer. I truly love this design! It is something we could drive out to the Northeast for the fall colors, head south and then down to Baja or NM/AZ for the winter. But need to know how much it weighs, etc., to see if our rig could handle towing it. Oh, am also very impressed with this suspension. We had a competitor's trailer with Timbren suspension and were not impressed at all.
Yes, Timbren is a good intro level independent suspension. But like you said, there is much better options out there. This current concept trailer came in at 2700 pounds. Your adventures sound amazing.
I saw that at expo west. It was good for me as I could walk around in it. As I got the grand tour
Yup, another great Playing with Sticks video! So glad we got to meet you and go on this amazingly fun adventure together. It doesn't surprise me that you are as genuine, humble, and kind as I thought you were. You are such a great guy Drew. Wishing you and your beautiful family much happiness always and hoping to one day, somehow, somewhere, reconnect. Keep up the great work. We'll be watching😉
The other day my wife and I were talking about how we love our Bean, but the kids are getting too big for all of us to sleep comfortably…. Right on time.
Nice! Bean does it again.
It certainly could use some iteration. I want to see some more time taken to have it blow my mind. I want drawers, a fan, heat (tho I might see the vent for it), spots to hang jackets, and awning outside. Running water outside. What about that kitchen is available inside and outside. Slide, door, something. Swap the lights for ones that are white, amber, and red. Flexible roof mounting system. The ability to put a Thule box up there with solar would be great. I am not sure how much value it has to have it popup, vs been 8-12" taller, maybe this is to keep it inside a standard garage? Also consider an easy way to install the new Ecoflow Wave 2 as the source of the heat and cooling since with 400watts of solar it can run forever. Maybe partner up with Ecoflow and have the battery and Wave 2 as options. Hitch mounted bike would be cool for times when not worried about offroad, but another option is some kind of track system that can floor mount them during travel inside. I very much love this idea.
This is crazy. How on you are with these comments. Almost everything you said here is something they are planning on. As for the roof, you’re right, it was to keep it garageable.
Best teardrop style trailer I’ve ever seen. Props to Bean, I hope they keep this on the lineup.
Thanks Bean and Drew for showing your R&D, it's cool to see new ideas!
I’m glad you enjoyed it Rob. You sound like me. I really enjoy seeing new ideas as well. So much so, I started the channel around it. 😆
Love love love this❤
I've been looking for the perfect trailer for months and the bean teardrops are one of my top options, but you make this one and my credit card is coming out!
Well, get that credit card. I’m pretty sure the Bean team is convinced. It towed and lived incredibly well. They would probably shoot me for saying this in the comments, but I’m leaving it here. I think they would be crazy to not move forward with this. I’m at the expo right now and it’s definitely impressing folks.
Man, I'd love to have this thing! Esp since my new rescue pup is going to be my camping dog, and she goes by Beans!
Another dog comment. I think we have an animal lovers trailer here. Thanks for sharing. Beans, nice. I think this trailer may be a good match for you.
BEAN2 bean squared is my favorite! i would buy it 🎉
Glad to hear you like it.
Damn that defender is killing it with thin tires
It actually did really well. In that scene where it spun out, it was because we didn’t air down and I had Brigham take a tough line just to see if it could do it.
Nice to see you again, Drew 😊
You win! You even got a comment in before I was even able to watch the video. So good to see you on here.
@@PlayingwithSticksYay! 😀
I just happened to be available just as the notification came in!
Love it. If they made the bed on gas struts, so you could lift it, made the lift top so it lifts on both ends and gave you the ability to open the back up (either up or down), you'd have a baby toy hauler to put a couple of dirt bikes in...That is my dream build and wouldn't cost much more to build!
That would be fun! You never know…glad you left this comment.
Yep, great idea.
I’m always trying to figure how to bring my dirt bikes on the camping trip.
This looks fantastic! It would be perfect for my wife and I.
Just being able to stand up is the game changer
Agreed! I think this is important for quite a few people.
Drew, had to rewatch this. It’s like a bigger version of my camper and that’s exactly what I want. If you talk to them, I think having a four season model is needed. I was living in mine till my heater failed and killed my lithium battery. Still, winter living in my camper in Steamboat Springs was absolutely awesome! If they can make a 4 season camper it’ll appeal to off-roaders/overlanders who want a great basecamp all year, but it’ll also appeal to skiers and snowboarders (the KOA up here is full of campers/RVs). I miss camper life, but I’ll be back in it around April.
The fours season part gets a little tough with the canvas. A true four season would be more like the one we were designing. Something with a composite tilt top. This would work great as a 4 season camping traileer. But, a four season living trailer, that would be a bit tough in my opinion. I say that, but at the same time I could live in a tent all year, so it really depends on what type of living you want to do. I have a feeling if you ever see a 4 season camper from Bean it will be a different model. I have seen some mock ups of potential Bean trailers their engineers have been working on. There are some that would make a perfect trailer for you. Now, to see if they ever decide to produce them.
This is the first one I have seen that I go yep that’s it that’s is what I need the extra space if needed still able to handle the rougher “roads”
So cool to hear that this is a good match for folks. Thanks for sharing.
I love this trailer.
Ahhh what an amazing set up… Drew you crushed it. Bean is getting wild!
Thanks Tanner! This was really a fun one to shoot.
If they do take this to production I would definitely do a pre order!!! Take my money!!!!
Haha. Love it!
I like it so far. Dang it, another option to add to the list. Though I feel they have some more design work to do on this one, based off the limited features we saw in this video. Aside from the added space inside, the Black Bean offers more in my opinion. My wife and I are looking to pull the trigger on a small tear drop like trailer here in the next couple of months. We most likely will be making our decision after the PNW Overland Expo, which we are spending the weekend at. We have about 5 trailers on our list. The Bruder Exp-4, The BRS Sherpa, Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0, Xpedition Trailer, and of course the Black Bean. All of these trailers have several features that I would hope this trailer would be able to incorporate. Some examples... roof rack, RTT, solar, better out door kitchen(slide out option working with the under queen bed space), awning, outdoor shower, heater, maxfan/ac, spare tire, etc etc. Definitely has to be off road and light enough for my Tacoma to be an option. By the way, love your videos Drew. You rock!
You have it narrowed down to some FUN trailers! I think whichever you end up with you are going to love it. Make sure you say hi if you run into me down here.
We had a very limited time to design and build this trailer to get it to expo west, so your right that it is very basic still. In the coming months I will be added a lot of accessories. And just overall refining the whole trailer.
As someone who likes to camp with my wife and our large dogs, this would be great.
Dogs, I never even thought about this. You are the second person to mention this. Good idea.
Lots of avid campers love to bring their dogs, especially here in the PNW. It's a large demographic that teardrop designers keep ignoring, kinda forcing us to look to other, larger model campers not really built for overlanding. I really hope Bean builds this.
That’s a must have in the Bean lineup. Please build it.
I feel the same way!
Looks great! Family of 4 here. My kids would never sleep in the same bed together. I would suggest making the 2nd bed a bunk bed rather than a pullout.
This would go well with my Outback wilderness.
If they keep it at the current weight, it would work.
YES ! Make it !
Mark at Bean said yes. He will make it!
This looks great. I'd love this to travel Oz
I really liked the layout in the interior and might appeal to people with kids that want that Overland experience. I think it would be interesting if they used that ample headroom to have a dual queen size bunk in front and make the back a dual indoor/outdoor kitchen with a hatch that can be used inside and outside. Have fun at the Expo and enjoy the coffee! You will probably need it with all that is going on this weekend!! 😁
Brad! You are awesome. Thank you so much. I love the idea of a dual indoor outdoor kitchen. And I will never say no to bunks. I’m looking forward to that coffee tomorrow morning. You’re right, I need it.
Yes! That's a great idea!
I really like this. It's well thought out. Bringing dogs camping, it's amazing to have such a large interior floor space for dogs to get in with dirty paws and clean them before getting on the bed without having a special cover on the bed always like what would be needed in the regular Bean. So much interior floor space for my dogs to play in inclement weather too. The outdoor kitchen set-up is nice and simple. I like the big wok option. The fridge slide-out placement indoors is perfect!
I think you are the fourth person to comment about the dogs. That is something I didn't even think about at first. But it makes sense.
It’s a unique design. I think the queen platform could be lofted/raised like in a truck camper. Then you could expand the kitchenette and have a dining table that can be converted into another bed. I think it’s also a great idea to have an outdoor kitchen if you desire.
Personally this kitchen is much more my preference than most rear kitchens. I am interested in this trailer over all. being a Pacific north west camper I know there is a very good possibility that i will multiple rain days on some my vacations and a tear drop is just to small to send 2-3 days in out of the rain.
Love hearing that this will be a good fit for folks. I had a feeling it would hit a sweet spot for many in the community.
If they don’t price this insanely high I would definitely consider it! Especially if it has a decent size fresh water tank and lithium/solar capability.
Agreed! As for water, I’m assuming it will be the same size as the black bean which is an 18 gallon tank.
It’s gonna be 60k these guys at bean forgot the little guy who gave them wings. Sad.
@@AnthonyWebb7 I don't think I understand your comment. Little guy who gave them wings?
@@PlayingwithSticks Is $60,000 really the price zone you're aiming for?
No, I don’t know what the price they are aiming for. But my guess is it will be close to half that price he mentioned. if I was to guess, I would say somewhere between 30 and 40 grand.
My wife likes this square trailer and I do too. I would consider this. I’m leaning toward the Mammoth at this moment.
Interesting. I would love to sit down and talk with you about your trailer choices some day. I keep seeing Mammoth's from the outside, but haven't been in one yet. I will make sure to get in one tomorrow.
Love it!!!
Ditto!
Neat to see Brigham working with bean.
So neat! I was so glad he landed that position.
The original Brigham video is where I got turned onto pws. That was over a year ago. Before that, teardrops weren’t on my radar.
Love this. Big thing for my wife is a place to “go” at night when nature calls. She is more a hotel kind of lady.
I see this being a pretty good fit for a lot of different situation’s. Room to walk around, a toilet, a place for animals, indoor and outdoor cooking… I really like it too.
I would love them all, but the Squared is more my style. :)
Yeah just worried about the pop top leaking after time..but nice!
Looks good and sentiments around growing family are real. @BeanTeam, please consider condo dwellers there are more and more and under ground garages are maxed at 6'5''
Thanks for sharing this. That is something many manufacturers probably do not consider.
Finally a great concept for the Northern US with more protection from the cold and rain! Nice work Bean. Keep going.
This is a good evolution of the teardrop.
The interior of this trailer looks amazing.
If you could convert it to a toy hauler to haul two dirt bikes, it would be ideal for me.
I’d use it as a way to get further out into the back country, with my dirt bike in the bed of the truck.
Happy Camping
Just bought our first teardrop trailer for the 2 of us with our Labrador Retriever. I’m always looking at what’s out there, and the ability to stand up and/or hang out inside during inclement weather is a game changer! Will be watching to see if this comes to market.
Love it, make it.
I couldn't have said it any better.
Hi Drew, another great video. Looking forward to part 2 with more details including weight.
Thanks for spending some time with me yesterday. I think this platform could be the base for many different models, including a rear kitchen. As i said yesterday, they need a better entry for those will bad knees. Keep up the good work, your needed and looking forward to yours and Charlie's trailer.
Ken
Great preview!
Thanks Zack!
Hey Drew, Steve and I were really grateful for the opportunity to meet you today after your Bean presentation at the Expo. Your channel helped us with our decision to go small and travel light. Thank you for all the time you invest in researching and analyzing gear - it made it so much easier for us to finally "go all in"! We are excited to take our Bean on it's first full fledged camping trip to Page,AZ! Thank you for inspiring us to get out and explore. 💕
You two are incredible! Thank you so much for this. And it looks like I stumbled across this a little late. How was your Page trip?
I love the concept; I use my Mean Bean all the time (about 50 nights a year) and the ability to stand inside and also to have a dedicated bench seat are nice features. I would make a couple additions.
1. Come up with a way to mount an awning to the side over the door (not on the tilted roof) so you can still cook in the rain.
2. Mount the outside table rotated so it is longer along the trailer and it isn't as difficult to get from the fridge to the descottle.
3. Mount another faucet like inside to the table over one of the cut outs.
Amazing build it!!!
Making room in my garage ! Very nice.
Looks awesome, hopefully you put this into production
Looks like a great concept. I love the amount of room it has on the inside. I also think in a few years time having a place to stand up when getting dressed or to cook in would be a benefit. I hope they produce it and are successful with it.
You were not wrong Drew, I do like it! And I like the fact about being a concept still.
This is what I’d like
Keep it simple (or at least a basic version).
Product and the platform that is already proven ✅
Internal space ✅
Molly panel ✅
Basic gear: fridge ✅
Cooking space (in/out): ✅
Cooking utensils: ✅
External stove ✅ (from the other bean trailers)
💡Add more molly panels or hooks in/out to secure stuff / gear.
But, 💡 Don’t create cabinets for everything in order to keep it flexible, versatile, useful.
(This reminds me the criquet from Taxa, lots of hooks and options to hold).
Basically, don’t saturate it.
Bean^2 has a gorgeous space in it ⭐️ Besides, the exterior looks so clean without a ton of boxes hanging aside getting aerodynamics a beat ⭐️ .
💡Rack for the awning, and for carrying sports gear (i.e. MTB😉)
& Ready to go.
💡Then, create another fancy version.
🙋🏻♂️ I personally dislike the canvas, maybe an option like the one offered by Aegis hard shell roof tops (this may add some weight, but you can have an idea on what I mean with origami).
Thanks again for bringing a great video and keeping us close to new products.
Muchas gracias Drew!
Great feedback here Asa. I love how you laid it out so easy to read. I could see them considering many of your requests. I think most of their future plans are in line with your needs.
@@PlayingwithSticks
Thank you - I just imagined the Bean^2 in 2 ways:
1. For those who don’t want to keep camping in their roof top tent on a 4x4 truck or being limited in space, to be able to have more people, family, friends without paying a lot. But having the option to add on. Like a toy hauler without being a toy hauler, being a Bean!
And 2, for the ones who seeks comfort, luxury on wheels and budget is not a problem.
…just some thoughts based on my dream to travel from Alaska to Ushuaia, or, just what I observe from our guests in our campsite, folks that travels more than a weekend (or more than a week), to make it all the way to Baja, they travel for days and stay in their trailer for weeks.
The Bean team saw that, but they did it halfway only to mid Baja (Please correct me if I’m wrong), not all the way south where this market keeps expanding every year.
But anyways… for preferences, the colors, right?
Un abrazo Drew, and as always, all the best amigo!
Best looking Bean trailer!
here I am a year later, finding out about this. Im bouncing around looking at different ideas between trailers and campers. Because Im a soloist Im not going to go rock crawling, but I do want whatever I have to not crumble into fodder for the dump at the first dirt road. Secondly, Im a LARGE soloist and I'm not going to like tiny little pods. I want to be able to chill, cook, or work inside or outside. This concept is really nice. It appears to have an expansive internal height. The layout of what is there is modular and out of the way. the Infrastructure is minimal something like a Scout Camper. Simple and High-quality is not prevalent on the market. Im guessing that if or when it hits production that, unless it gets built overseas to order, its going to be eye watering in price. But thats how it be.
Loved the layout and thought put into the Bean Squared. Hope it goes into production soon!
Thanks for the feedback.
Love that poptop!
Ditto!
This is the trailer I will buy when it's released. I think the biggest focus for me is that it has a ton of open space for cargo, which makes it very flexible and allows it to be used for a variety of things. I don't like bathrooms and kitchens inside of offroad trailers. It makes sense if you're pulling a house on wheels setup (like an Airstream) and hitting developed campsites or RV parks with hookups, but I think it is a massive waste of space in an offroad trailer where you're supposed to be out in the elements anyway. Also, I don't like cooking or taking dumps inside of small trailers, lol. It just smells the whole thing up.
I don't mind the tiny indoor kitchenette on this model, which I'd likely only use in bad weather, but I'd request for it to be removed if I could. You could always just plug in a little induction cooktop and cook on a table inside if you wanted. No need for a permanent install of a kitchen and waste all that space. No need for 2 kitchens. Even when it's raining, I prefer to just cook under a pop-up or a Crosswing awning and keep all those fumes and smells outside the trailer. I'd rather allocate all that interior space to a nice, comfy bed, work/lounge space, cargo storage and room to just stretch out. Give me more floor space to throw a bunch of pelican cases or carry e-bikes inside the trailer.
I really think they NAILED this thing and I'm very excited about. I hope they update us soon. Though I fear for what the price is going to be in this new age of post-covid inflation.
It would definitely be cool to have some bunk/upper sleeping options with that pop top for those who want it.
I really like this camper. The only thing I would change is the orientation of the bed in the back.
I am with you there too. If I could have my cake and eat it too, the bed would run lengthwise. But just like the camper were building there are some sacrifices that have to be made to keep the camper small yet live large.
I love this! It seems like a great trailer.
They nailed it
Hey Drew, it was great to meet you at expo. I enjoyed talking to you and most everyone else at Bean about this amazing trailer. It’s almost exactly what I have been searching for and I hope to be first in line when it makes it to production.
Do it BEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will buy it!
Got a family of 4 this would be perfect
Pretty cool trailer!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree it’s cool.
This needs to be in production, just with some layout tweaks. Would love to look for some ability to have a galley external while adding space for growing families
I like what I see here, perfect timing as I was planning to make this expo a chance to narrow down some top picks. Will hope to catch it at the expo this weekend.
Let me know what you think once you see it in person.
OMG! I LOVE IT!🤩
Love the enthusiasm!
You could add a loft above the queen for another bed. Great looking trailer!
I really like this concept! Hope they decide to run with it.
Me too! I have a feeling they will after how well the trip went.
Put it into production, I’ll by it the first day it’s released!!❤
simple and clean, i like it. God bless
Yes, I couldn't put my finger on it. But simple and clean is a great way to describe it.
I think I've looked at every trailer in the market and haven't found the one to replace our 1970 TrailsWest Campster with the same thing but having an outside kitchen. Maybe someone reading this comment can help. Things we need:
Accessible queen bed: we need a bed that is not sideways. No one wants to have to climb over someone else to go to bed or get up. We also have to be able to sit all the way up in bed, with head room. (We don't care about having a convertible dinette table. We won't ever set it up.)
Interior standing height: We need to be able to stand up inside. A hard top or a pop top are both fine.
Outdoor kitchen: We are summer-camping festival-going party animals. We want the whole kitchen to be outside. It can be in a rear or side galley or in slide-outs, anything is fine. It needs a stove, an electric cooler, a decent amount of storage, and a work space/counter top. Make it easy to set up and put away. Sink optional.
It needs to be towable with the daily driver, so under the 3500lbs standard minivan tow rating.
A cassette toilet would be a bonus, but isn't necessary. Same thing for hot water.
What do you think, guys? Are we nuts? It seems like a simple list but the T@B CS-S is the closest and unfortunately has that sideways bed-that-traps-you.
The stand-up trailers have the kitchen inside, the outside-kitchen trailers are low-ceiling, or have a sideways bed, or have a pop top but with a very low ceiling over the bed. What are we missing? Do we need a custom build?
I really like what I see with this trailer. I have always been impressed with Bean, just pretty sure I want more room than a teardrop with having 2 small kids. Boreas EOS-12 is an unbelievable trailer, but so is the price. Without a bathroom in this one, I would hope Bean could come in well below the EOS-12. Great looking trailer, I hope they eventually bring it to market.
I love it. I hope it they do it and include a heating option. It gets cold in the mountains at night! Thank you!
Good vid 👍
Great to see you Patrick!
Loving this idea. The pop-top canvas could benefit from screens/windows, and the side could use an awning (over the kitchen).
Great! A few ideas:
- do a full pop top
- upper bunk for kids
- a sink that actually drains inside for brushing teeth, washing face, etc.
- have the fridge accessible inside and outside the trailer
I would put a width wise hanging closet with drawers across the back. Could take advantage of the pop top by setting a decent size tv on top when parked. Use rest of interior for cot with plastic storage bins underneath. Nice camp chair next to cot. Have an insulating liner for pop top. Maybe a shelf on other end for cooking appliances.
This is awesome! These are the type of comments I was hoping to get.
Looks cool!!! But I love having a wet bath in my teardrop.
One thing I don’t like about pop up campers is that eventually the material that makes up the pop up will wear out and have to be replaced. If the company doesn’t exist this could get expensive. It’s probably expensive even if company is still in business. Plus these pop ups are probably more prone to leaking at the seams and joints. It would be nice to see someone come up with a light weight hard sided pop up.
Hmmm. I think I know someone who’s making one. I’m joking a bit here but that’s what our pop-up will be like. But don’t count Bean out. I assume they’re considering composite close outs as well.
Love this concept.
So cool to hear.
PUTTING IT TO THE TEST!
It was so fun!
Love the idea of this trailer. When I started looking for campers Bean inspired me, but over time I realized it wouldn't serve my purpose of being able to live in it more full-time work from the road; i'm in tech so would need space to set up a computer. I've been looking at Escape which are nice, but really love the quality and look of Bean, but with a few more creature comforts, maybe a wet bath with a compost toilet...don't lose the batteries and solar. maybe the queen bed could fold to a single bed to gain more space for single people. don't get rid of the double burner cooktop, maybe make it removable and so. you can bring that inside to cook if weather is bad. to grab a bigger market, consider people on the road longer and what those needs are. Can't wait to see how this evolves.
Very cool
I really enjoy your videos
Thank you so much. That means a lot to me. I have fun making them, but sometimes I wonder how they will be perceived. I really appreciate the kind words.
Im very intrigued! A trailer this size and this floor plan would meet my needs perfectly. IMO three things that would make this trailer an industry disruptor. Keep the weight low. Keep the prices low. Keep the height/length short enough to store in a garage.
One thing I wish people who make off road trailers would look at is some way of keeping the inside at positive pressure to help keep all the dust out.
Agreed! We are even doing that with our non off-road trailer.
This would be great if it had bunk ability for kids. As a family of 5, I would rather have something this size then my 18bh starcraft. The stripped downess shown in this video is perfect. It really comes down to price point upon production run. For me personally, the pop top is a huge plus for height and with all the different ecoflow things out there, you can still cool this guy. The little shelf that has the cooler is pretty nice too. Screw the off road ability... it is smaller than my current trailer and I would bet a Toyota Sienna could tow in stead of my explorer v8 4.6 explorer. I look forward for the more detailed vid.
NOW you're talking...LOL we've been in Moab this last week and currently sitting up in a very nice spot overlooking the desert floor off willow springs rd. This was great to see. Looks like some serious possibility. Can't wait for the full review, more specs, pricing. The one thing that is less desirable is constantly opening and closing the door to access the fridge. Bugs are a thing for sure. Very interesting video Drew!!
This looks like it has a lot of potential. I'm a full-time nomad that tent camps (my tent has 140 sq ft of floor space) along with an overland trailer to carry gear, as I get older (54 now) the set-up and tear down of my tent is going to get difficult but I don't want to give up being able to get way off grid, this looks like it could fit that bill. Definitely keen to hear more about its development.
I think some folks will like it, but it’s not for everyone.
Thanks for the great chat today in the rain. Really appreciate you.
Agreed. This will hit the sweet spot for a portion of the market. But for many they will still choose a Bean. Good talking to you as well. It was fun getting to know you a bit.
