Did you have the chance to try any modeler at the same price point? My main concern would be build quality, expecially the pedal because one may use it a lot. Thanks
POD Go is more expensive nowadays, but couple of years ago it was roughly the same price as MG-30. Unlike POD GO, MG-30 is made out of metal and feels incredibly sturdy. I used it live few times and never had to worry about it breaking or anything like that.
I run my MG-30 off of a large phone charger bank for a COMPLETELY WIRELESS CORDLESS rig! All you need is one of those red-tipped power patch cords that flips the + and - tips so that you don’t damage the unit. THEN the signal goes into an AEROS looper pedal, which is really more like a 6-track DAW at the tip of your toes. And that’s ALSO running off of a phone charger bank. I can take my whole composing and recording rig out into the park or the beach or anywhere. I am SO blown away by this MAGIC new tech!! 🤩🤩
Hi! Would you elaborate more on the "red-tipped power patch cords that flips the + and - tips"? I'm interested in also using wireless power for my MG-30. If it's ok, a link would be super awesome 😄
Unless I completely forgot something, then yes. That's how I prepared my live set: one patch per song and within that song I hademultiple swithes to trigger a thing on/off.
@@CatPickStudios yup. Depends if you prefer lotsa tweakable analogue-like knobs or access to a big coloured screen, & that’d depend on whether you gig a heap or not. I have their old Cerberus, which has a similar, slightly larger layout to the trident. It’s been great live, but starting to malfunction, so time for an upgrade.
I love my MG30. Worth twice as much as it's priced
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this unit and I've had it for 2 months😄. They put a ton into it.
It does a lot!

What do you mean by "..if your drummer takes too long to set up"? That never happens, NEVER.
Clearly you've been lucky to play with the ones that set up fast. ;)
@@CatPickStudios *cough *
NUX packed a lot of features in the MG-30 for a modeler at that price point.

Great demo, really liked the sounds.
Yes it is outstanding for the money best 300 I’ve spent in years . Super versatile and updates and the sound quality is too knotch.
nice review the beginning of the song sounded like shakira hahahahahah. all kidding aside great review and nice playing.
Better modulations than Zoom G3XN?
I'm afraid I van't say as I haven't had a Zoom modeler since 505II ;D
Mg30 vs ampero mp100? Witch the best?
I need to get myself an Ampero to try out, everybody seems to love theirs. Haven't seen one yet here in Finland.
A great unit indeed!
Super demo. Can the control 1-4 assignments be changed per patch? Thanks.

@@CatPickStudios Thanks!
Yeah!
can you stack two overdrives on this? or two delays? or is it limited to only 1 type of pedal per block?
I’m not 100% sure on this but I think each effect block could only do certain effects.
Pode utilizar até 3 overdrives ou 2 modulações, delay e reverb apenas 1
You can put 2 ods, you can replace modulation with another drive pedal. . What's missing is you can't stack 2 delays.

Have you tried their trident?
If so, How would you compare the tone quality?
I haven't tried the Trident, but it looks like it has exactly the same modeling as the MG-30. Even the desktop editor looks the same.
@@CatPickStudios that’s what I thought might be the case. Mostly comes down mostly to preference of workflow and outs/ins options, I guess.
@@Nathankaye Yep pretty much! Actually looking at Trident, that might be more up my alley haha!

Higher sampling for the IR's two ✌ times as much under the hood.
Very cool processor
Yep.
@@CatPickStudios I just blew my gas budget, you’ll find out on what in my video tonight. I’m very excited.
Have a great week Sir
Thanks, you too!
