It gets more complex than that when dealing with creatures made of atoms, molecules, genetics and the EMF electrical wave activity inside their brain. Any dog can be vicious given the circumstances , it actually depends on the temperament of the animal it's self. For some reason the dog must have became agitated which caused it to attack. Special breeds such as pit bulls, terriers,rottweilers, cane corsos, dobermans and all large breed dogs should be raised from puppies and training should begin as soon as possible. The dog needs to know who is the master and to obey commands especially around people. You should be patient ,never hit or yell while training the animal so it will understand the difference between discipline and how to react while protecting you, your family and your home. Just saying !🤔

If people are stressed living in an urban area such as New York, surely the pet experiences a similar anxiety.
"He was always a good dog.". Lot of pitbulls may have been used in dog fights too. They are very dangerous. What is "playing around" for them could lead to kid's death but one pitbull has the power to kill an adult male. People need to stop wanting to be so "tough" and get the baddest, toughest and most violent dog.

Truth of the matter is any large dog can inflict that type of injury. Training is the key factor and properly raising the dog.

There's no excuses. It's the breed, pitbulls are extremely unpredictable and temperamental dogs. It doesn't matter how you raise them. You take a risk owning one. They'll maul other dogs, babies, and owners in a heartbeat.
Altogether, between the U.S. and Canada, 782 dogs in 2023 attacked people in reported incidents resulting in at least one fatality or disfigurement, counting as a “disfigurement” injuries rating a high 4 or 5 on the Ian Dunbar scale for evaluating dog attacks, on which a 6 is that the victim is dead.
Known victims included 143 children and 490 adults, who among them suffered 69 deaths and 547 known disfigurements.
Of the attacking dogs identified by breed, 518 (66%) were pit bulls, accounting for 72% of the attacks on children, 46% of the attacks on adults, and 50% of the known disfigurements.
However, these numbers likely far understate the extent of pit bull mayhem due to the frequency of attacks in which the breed identity of the dog is not released to media.
I’ve Bread Red Nose Pit Bulls in the 90s and there are definitely unpredictable Animals...

Before you get any type of dog do your research on the dog and prior owner. If the dog is already 1yr or older. I suggest for anyone that never had a dog start with a small dog or a cat. Adult Dogs are not recommend for 1st time pit owner. Do the research frist on dog and owner

Those dogs don't belong in apartment buildings. They don't get enough exercise, fresh air, and open space.
A couple of months ago in Jersey two pitbulls attacked their owners, a mother a daughter, and police had to shoot both of the dogs through a fence. I would venture to say a pitbull should be listed as an exotic animal. This would force states to recover special training for their owners.
I would say the same thing or listed as an advance type of breed that requires a permit. A person should know how to properly train them, and how to properly respond to them in any situation.

This is very horrible. Owners have to be careful with their dogs because things like this can happen.
This doesn’t happen with normal dogs. You don’t hear about any other breed needing to be “raised right” /trained so it doesn’t kill humans.
The breed is a fighting animal and now that’s illegal the pitbull is redirecting to humans. You can’t train it out of genetics anymore than you can train a sheep dog not to herd or a pointer to point
