@@justinbishopmusic awesome to hear that! Yeah, I’d like something to be able to play both acoustic and electric and this thing seems to simplify that.

Dear Justin! Your review has driven me into wanting POD Go Wireless. I can not get it out of my head! So many possibilities! Let me ask some questions please! (1) Through what does it sound the best? Through a PA system? Through a tube guitar combo? Through a solid state guitar combo? (2) I have tube combos, they are really loud when overdriven. With my Roland JC-40 I use overdrive pedals so that I can be less loud. A pedal overdriven is definitely less loud than a tube amp overdriven. Would I be able to earn overdriven sounds out of the POD Go at lower volumes? It would be for home usage, I don't want my wife to go crazy (even more). So I would like to get overdriven sounds at low volumes, is it possible? (3) Let us say I would use a PA system. Is it possible to use my favorite OD pedal in front of it? Is it possible to use some more effect pedals in the FX loop? Thanx very much!
Hi Peter, For me, it sounds best through a PA, studio monitors, or an FRFR speaker (I used the Headrush 108. I tried it through a tube amp (Blues Jr.), and you can get good sounds, but it definitely needs more EQ tweaking to sound good. Through a PA or studio speakers though, you can definitely get great overdriven sounds at very low volume, even through headphones! And yes, you can put pedals in front of it. My favorite presets were by Rhett Shull. www.rhettshull.com/products/pod-go-rhetts-amps Hope this helps!
Question for you Justin. How would you use one of these with an amp? I know you could turn off the amp and cab sims but if I wanted to download a nice patch from the Line 6 site, it wouldn't sound right through my amp because it would already have the amp/cab set. If I turned them off to play through my amp, I would lose the correct patch sound. Does that make sense? Any decent workaround you can think of?
I used this with my tube amp, and I took a patch that I liked, and I did just as you said…I copied the patch without the cab and IR. You may also have to tweak the EQ a bit, but it does work well. Ultimately, I spent too much time retiring to tweak this unit, and I sold it and bought a Fender Super Champ X2 which has a good tube sound and built in Reverb and delay. I spend more time playing instead of messing with settings, and I’ve been much happier with the results. If you need lots of different effects, though, this line 6 is great! I bought Rhett Shull’s amp pack, and they were very useable with little tweaking needed.
I haven’t tried it but there’s a line in the manual: POD Go can also record to an Apple iPad or iPhone mobile device (with optional Apple Camera Connection Kit).
Great review, thanks!!! 1 questions. are the A,B,C,D switched totally separate channels or can you set A for 1 effect and B for another effect and cycle them on independently, like having 2 stompboxes in the signal chain? ie. A is delay and B is chorus, can I turn the chorus on/off while still keeping the delay going.
Thanks! It has 2 modes… you can have it switch individual effects on and off, or you can program 4 scenes (or what they call “Snapshots”) which let you adjust parameters and lock it in for each scene. You can have clean low gain on A and High gain in D, all from the same amp patch.
Hey Justin. Love the video. I would offer a couple of opinions: * Personally, I didn't think that it requires the user to be that techie. A bit of patience is required, but I've dealt with much worse. The PDF manual is excellent. * Regardless of the fragility issue, it's probably best to take the transmitter out of the guitar, or it will just flatten the battery, (there's a push-switch on the transmitter that keeps it switched on). Fragility-wise, the strat-style jack socket is nice, but i wonder about someone using it with an SG-style guitar. It just looks horribly vulnerable. Gotta say, I love mine - I'm running it through a Laney LFR112. Upgraded from the HD500X and the difference in tone is just night and day. Take care my friend. Peace and love from Nottingham, UK
@@justinbishopmusic I've not tried it through a PA system yet. The Laney is good as a transparent active cab, giving minimal colouration to the sound. This is exactly what I wanted - something that lets the pedal do all the work. I like the Laney's traditional look also, over, say, the Headrush. I was seriously tempted by the Powercab, (and Powercab +). They cost a fair bit more though.
Yes, I feel much more proficient with it after a few days. I was a little lost on day one, but I’ve learned my way around. I guess the same is true even with a tube amp. It takes a little time to find the sweet spot. I’m loving this thing more and more the longer I have it.
@@emuemu8428 I use headphones when the family is asleep, but it also sounds great through computer speakers (the standalone kind... not the builtin ones). If you have any stereo system in your house, this will sounds great through it. It’s made you sound good plugged into anything. Are you in the US? If so, call Sweetwater, and they’ll talk you through various options and price ranges. It would also sound good through your spider. Just use the aux in on the amp, or use the amp out from pod go into your amps input and through a clean channel. You can turn off the cabinet settings on the pod go. Honestly, this thing is better for bedroom levels than most amps... you get the tube-like responsiveness from the unit, but at any volume level it sounds good.
@@justinbishopmusic gotcha. Just gotta play with it to get the tones right no matter what it's plugged into eh? I do have a surround sound unit in the same room....hmmm treat it like FOH at the worst venue ever eh?
I’ve found it useful for both electric and acoustic, but I don’t see a use for bass unless you like a ton of effects. I imagine you could dial in some compression and eq to suit you, but I think guitar is their primary target for this unit.
If I remember correctly, mine wouldn’t work when the WiFi on my computer was on. I have a 2020 Mac. I ultimately sold it and I’ve landed on Neural DSP plug-ins for recording and a Boss Katana for live.
Won't work if there's any 2.4GHz wireless nearby 😞 And 2.4GHz wireless is everywhere these days... not just in your home, but also in the security cameras at many performance venues.
The product should work right out of the box, telling folks to update the software before they even get a chance to really use the product is pretty much an admittance by line 6 saying "we knowingly sent you a software related faulty product and you need to use our software fix to get it to operate properly." I dont want to imagine the extremely annoying experience customers were having before the fix was made available. They likely was either told the usually "so far you are the only customer that reported this problem" or something like " this problem as been documented and we are working on a fix for it that will be out shortly."
To play the devils advocate I think they manufactured and shipped out many units before the latest software update, thus many units that sat in storages need to be updated by the user himself.
I have the Pod Go without the wireless. Absolutely love it! Best multi effects pedal I have ever had.
Pod go is the shit! I have traditional pedals , tube amps and solid state stuff but this thing is my go to, highly recommend it!

It has specific bass effects presets, so seems designed for bass guitars as well.
