AND . . . she could sing, dance, and act. That's why she was worth about 60 million at the TOD. Way out of my league.

The man cooking skit was done on I Love Lucy. They did a great job with it…and the comedy of Fred Mertz and Ricky Ricardo had some hysterical one liners plus the physical comedy of the rice and chicken disaster. 😂🤣

At 18:00 Rob is imitating Sheldon Leonard’s psychological analyses of comedy situations in the shows he produced like Dick van Dyke and Andy Griffith. He would hold meetings with the cast to discuss the believability and appropriateness of the situations for the characters and what would motivate their behavior and reactions. These were very well thought out in advance. You will notice that Andy Griffith and Dick van Dyke shows actually dealt with real social problems but in a comedic way. That’s why the audience could relate to them more than other shows that were more fantasy oriented and still popular today.

Amsterdam (and/or the writers) missed the joke starting at approx. 09:50 ! Should have said "...this guy has a *hair* trigger brain, but I think the gun jammed" (due to his constant hair/bald jokes). 🤣

By film date order, this is actually the last episode for season 3. Their living room couch makes it obvious. They also did the same thing with the last episode of season 2 and 4. "All Eavesdropping" was pushed into season 3 and "A Farewell to Writing" was also pushed into season 5. I think the reason this happened was because they wanted to even the number of episodes each season.
I know it doesn't really matter, but I personally prefer the film date order over the air date order.

Lucy and Doris were friends in real life as well. There is another DVD show in which Doris
REALLY shines as the bullying wife of an English husband whose daughter beats up Richie.
NO ONE could disguise a put down and talk catty like she could.
