They did this at the Union Transfer in Philly in Nov. 2014 and it was electric. Killed it. To see it live in an intimate venue was so much better than what you get from this video. Hope they pull this one out again at Longwood Gardens.
She's too much for mortal man. I'm surprised the very fabric of the universe was not ripped apart as she sang. I'm in love with the whole band, simply incredible.
+sam torres - I was there for this and the only bad thing was the set was only 55 minutes long. Believe it or not, I left the festival right after LSD played because I knew no other band would top them!
+Robby Rupple lol I'm with ya on that one. Leon Bridges was plenty worthwhile, but their set times overlapped! We wound up catching the last three songs of his set and then just wandered for the rest of the day. A band called "Iration" was pretty cool, but that was about it. We left right around sunset when the EDM druggies started to filter in and turn the place into a nuthouse.
I personally prefer Annie's version. I LIKE this version, Rachael's voice is beautiful and her technique is great. I just don't don't like the sound of the horn in some sections or at all with this song.
Live, the horn sounded great. I've seen LSD eight times now and this show was one of my favorites (even though it was a short set) just because the digital sound system Outside Lands had was the best I've ever heard them play on. Completely thumped. Then again, I'd take them acoustic, no amps tooooo.....
+Robby Rupple thanks for watching and thanks for asking for more Lake Street Dive, here's a new song to enjoy & share! ruclips.net/video/ox4bHTe1q2I/видео.html
I think the issue is this video/audio was recorded with a phone. So the phone is a factor in how the audio sounds. Additionally, the video is just someone recording with their phone and Rachael is all they focused on.
this girl maybe gettin some good practice doin these type gigs but really is beneath where she should be , 28 piece band with a full time arranger that trumpet sounds good sometimes but gets downright annoying droning on endlessly
The 4 piece band is unique to music right now. Each component is exceptional. Sure Rachel is a professionally trained jazz musician and a singing wiz... But I think she's smart enough to know how good this group is together. I hope they are around for a long long time.
Well, actually, that's how she got her start! He father is the composer and director, and the reason she was able to learn music, sing, and be able to afford her training and study at the New England Conservatory of Music... as is true of her other 3 bandmates. Yet...somehow, they're STILL selling out concerts all over the country. This particular tune isn't my 1st choice, but if you like what they're doing and appreciate her voice, it's a unique arrangement and they constantly change it up and write unique compositions, branching into different styles...proving how talented, diverse and talented they are, willing to write such unique and experimental compositions. Do you know their history?
Every cover and original song this band does sounds amazing
I'd love to watch Rachel even if she couldn't carry a tune in a tin bucket. But, that voice just takes it over the moon................

I love how they do this song!
This is my favorite thing on the entire internet.
Sound leaves much to be desired, camera is great, but in the end, this may be the most wonderful thing in this universe.
Yes, would luv to hear your band do this again .
As much as I love Annie Lennox, she could not open my mind the way LSD could with this song. Wish I was there.

Can they do any wrong? They kill it all the time
Could this be the sexiest live music video ever?
What a great sound!
Wow. That girl was made to do this. Love to see some shots of the rest of the absolutely amazing band though!
I so hope they tour around here this summer.
amazing
Wish the bass had been mic'd better.
Always
Yes, I am always wishing that too. And as much as I dig Racheal, why don't the others get more camera time? I mean, c'mon.

Annie Lennox would approve. Great vocal from Rachael.
