  • Welcome back to our DIY canoe project series! In Part 2, we're transforming our 14ft fiberglass canoe, now affectionately called Big Red. Watch as we:
    - Strip the old paint and material
    - Fill holes and cracks for a smooth surface
    - Apply fiberglass resin to reinforce the structure
    - Sand down the entire canoe for a perfect finish
    - Prime and paint Big Red to give it a stunning new look
    - Seal with a durable 1:1 Epoxy Top Coat for long-lasting protection

    *Materials Used:*
    - Fiberglass resin
    - Sandpaper (various grits)
    - Primer
    - Paint - 1 pint tremclad added to paint gun
    - 1:1 Epoxy Top Coat

    Nice gob! I tried doing a new gel coat on my old Lincoln after doing some repairs. You like paint better, or just easier to work with? I'm looking forward to more videos from y'all!

      Paint is just easier to work with for me. Here’s the thing… I know I’ll be thumping it off of a few rocks a week so, although gel is more durable, it isn’t bulletproof. So paint all the way imo
