Whiteoak Creek Falls - Pisgah National Forest, NC

  • This was a quick stop on Saturday, August 10, 2019 before my main hike on the Woody Ridge Trail. Whiteoak Creek Falls is a "roadside" waterfall that requires a few hundred feet of walking to reach the falls. Park at the end of White Oak Creek Rd and follow the forest road upstream. You should see an obvious scramble path leading to the base of the falls. It only takes a few minutes to get here from the parking location, and is suitable for all ages. You can add this if you are hiking the Woody Ridge Trail or Colbert Ridge Trail nearby.

      Thanks Bob, it's not bad. I've seen pictures of it with much higher flow and it looked more impressive.
