@@bigzach322 it was a once in a lifetime trip. It was my first one so I’ll never forget it that’s for sure. I’d do it again in a couple years probably, the views are just incredible
That was definitely Beastmode getting all those miles in. Especially with the rain. Was enjoying the views before the rain came in. Pisgah is one of my favorite places to go backpacking.
I almost always go solo, so that aspect doesn't bother me. I only carry a rain coat, a couple dry bags, and an emergency blanket when it isn't summer. I don't want the extra weight or volume of an additional shelter.
Very nice video Zach. Probably a little too much for this old man!
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed the views before the rain came in. Of my three trips to Mount Mitchell, only once did I get clear skies.
Yeah it's really 50/50 even when the forecast is good.
Dagum, today we just got back from backpacking it, it’s super cool to see other peoples experience and reminisce on where you’ve been.
How was the trip?

Beast mode of a hike Zach! Congrats on finishing up the challenge!
Awesome. That looks like some serious type-2 fun. Now do the Art Loeb in a day :)
Yes I don’t know which would be more gruesome
I plan on it one summer, but the shuttle is tougher because there isn't a cheap service like the one Yancey Co provided and now I also have a dog.

Yeah unfortunately I had to put all my equipment away in dry bags around Mt. Mitchell.
Great video. Glad you made it safe. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Awesome trail and well done to do it in one day! Also working on the challenge and have this exact trip upcoming but are taking it slow with 3 nights.
That should be a little easier
Great coverage. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to hiking in Shining Rock Wilderness later this spring.
Hey there - have you hiked to grey eagle rock on the side of potato knob near mt mitchell? MST - Boundary Trail?
No, I gave it a half-hearted attempt on another hike and couldn't find the route.
@@bigzach322 thank you anyway!
Wow, that was rough especially as a solo hike. Do you carry rain gear and a shelter in case of an emergency? Happy Trails!

Friend next time you estimate the time a hike will take double it.
I don't know what you're talking about.
@@bigzach322 you plan well but your time estimates need improvement. You ask
