It's in the carburetor needs to be cleaned out good. Check the main jet& pilot jet& emotion tube for cloggage if it is. You can clean them out with copper wire strand frim wire
Hi, sorry but i have a 2005 too just got it not to long ago now. The issue i am having the starter solenoid clicks but thw starter doesnt even crank. I changed the starter, the batter, and the solenoid too... Im not sure what else can be. Fuses are fine. Any ideas please? Thank you. Great video too. Just.. Well like my brute but wish did some more research.
Only thing I can think of is the Starter clutch that is inside the cover on the left side of the machine. Look up some videos on the Starter clutch on youtube and see if that's your problem. Good Luck with your machine... I've given up on mine.
@@RobFarrowATV hey, thank you for replying. Damn sorry to hear you given up on her. Yeah the starter I replaced and the starter relay is new too. I'm going to change the negative side batter cable or really the negative relay to starter cable and see if that is it. The starter will start if its coming from battery straight. So again... Hope will work out as hope will work in future for you. Of course thinking of getting manual for mine to see what else happens. Thanks again
Brand new, checked them again to make sure we didn't kill one. Checked the new caps and the old ones. Might have to look at the plug wires but the modules aren't known to fail. Thanks Fred!
My 07 will just crank. Have checked everything. Flywheel is good, timing is good, plugs are good, battery good, coils good. Replaced CDI box. Fuses good. Any suggestions?
Mine had an issue with the choke, the little rubber end wasn't closing the choke off completely. Check the plugs to the CDI box and make sure they are not broken, I found one that was broken. The electrical harness on these things is horrible, check all the buss bars and connections. Good Luck!
They said it was the pickup coil but that still didn't fix it. The guy that had it before me put an electric fuel pump on it. It clicks all the time. Im just not sure what it could be. Neither is the mechanic
It's most likely due to watery fuel.,or CDI box issues will cause intermittent firing.,or the stator is bad to.,or broken wiring going to it also. Good luck with your getting that four wheeler running again. It kinda sounds like the CDI box.,or in the stator to me guy's on it.
Bloody hell, Rob, that machine is leading you on a merry dance! Hopefully you'll get all the niggles sorted out soon. If all else fails, beat the crap out of it with a 14 pound hammer.
Sad to hear you ragging on the Brute. While it's true that the first model year of anything is bound to have issues, the issues you're having are mostly due to abuse and neglect, not Kawasaki's quality. A lot of the parts on the 2005 Brute came from previous years of Prairie's, and they were pretty well proven for several years prior. So I know you're frustrated, but just get the last bug out, and you will have a fun and reliable machine for years to come. POS letters are reserved for only one brand.....and that brand contains all those letters in it's name!
So what was the problem cause we have a 2007 rode it twice since 2007 its my wife she just let it collect dust now im having issues getting back running
We're still tracking down issues, it's crazy how much stuff is wrong with this machine... basically the whole machine was junk. We're back to the carb setup again now. Lots of issues with the electrical harness in these machine apparently. Almost better to replace the whole harness. If you didn't drain the gas from the carbs or put stabilizer in it when it sat good bet it's a gummed up carb or choke issue. Good luck with your machine.

No problem, good luck!
Make sure your solinoid isn't wired up backwards speaking from experience lmao
Hey guys I have similar problem but sometimes work and sometimes doesn’t the electrical turn on
I’ve got a 2003 650 prairie. It’s nothing but trouble. I’m dealing with no spark currently
Good Luck with your machine! We're still working on this one, pain in the ass for sure!
Think to pull the plugs? I know you have few hours on them, but worth a look-see.

@@RobFarrowATV Those plug boots are interesting in design. The CDI(?) is the computer (ECM?) ?
Yes I call it the CDI, it's the computer.

Did you change the pickup valve that goes into the gas tank? I changed mine, heard they go bad.

Thanks for all your ideas John!
I'd do the same thing! 😅 worked mint
Thanks Man! If we ever get this thing working properly it should be good to go, everything is done on it. LOL!

Think I'd go with the 20lb sledge... Thanks Barry!

Thanks Dr Mark!
Jack up the rad cap and drive a different atv under it.😖😠
LOL! Best advice I've heard yet, thanks Vance!
Never buy a Kawasaki all I've heard is they are nothing but problems!
Funny thing is that I never had an issue in 9 years with my old Brute 650...
