I remember writing a short story a while back where a Foundation MTF had to extract an SCP from a hotel that was hosting an anime convention, so they modified their uniforms with Umbrella Corp patches, detained the scip, and walked right out the front door while everyone what just assumed it was a really well designed and choreographed cosplay

In something like real-life combat, it does help to get the target as quickly and efficiently as possible. But this helps in two fronts as both a cosplay at a convention (common decency), but as a bit of storytelling for the RE Verse. In the case for the latter, it makes sense for what Umbrella Special Forces usually fight (B.O.W.'s), and most of them are just shambling zombies that'll barely register an escalator if even. So it helps the team do some last-minute checks before the real fight begins. Ammo count, equipment, suit integrity, gas mask securing (which I appreciate for the time during covid), and conserving energy for the possibility of more dangerous B.O.W's in the area to terminate and/or escape from.
Can confirm for boys cosplay. I'm a tactical cosplayer and tend to attract other such individuals to me, whether I'm a UBCS Operator, a BSAA Investigator, or an Area 51 Security Forces member, I always wind up forming an impromptu squad. For some reason we congregate around trash cans.

For normal operations, absolutely. However, they're Umbrella. They're predominantly trying to kill or contain zombies, and disappearing inconvenient civilians. Simply put, they're deployed against targets that can't normally exploit their awful spacing.

Witnessed one of my Engineering classmates today(Halloween) fully dress as an Umbrella Operator with a voice changer, pretty much the same as these guys(besides the gun because we don’t wanna get in trouble). And he immediately made me remember this video.
I'm gonna have a controversial opinion but I liked both. I do think the guys put a little more performance in but at the same time I like hot chicks in cute outfits.
How did they put more effort in? The women had to create their costumes from scratch the guys basically just bought it from a store and put an umbrella logo on lol. All their stuff is stuff you can just buy at a store you don't even have to make it yourself.

Feel a lot called out on the boys cosplay. My crew have done that. A lot actually. Even "crashed" a wedding once at the venue. It was awesome. The Wedding party loved us.
