Being from St. Louis and them being from not far away in Illinois was able to hear them when their first single came out and I was hooked. They killed it every time Ive seen them live.
Indeed. It's depressing how many ppl prolly think it's like Christian rock, Jesus cheerleading. Then those folks think everything is tailor made for them and the earth is their cookie to nibble on and consume with no cares, bc in the end grace will 4give them bc the good book says so. Based on all the wars, witch burnings, etc, since it's writing: the Bible seems pretty bad, n evil to me.
@gtagameplayvidz well you know many ppl just see a title and assume it's pro bible, never knowing the artist or source materials. Sometimes I wish I could tell ppl what this song means to me. But I do not wish to tear down the foundation of everything ppl believe. They say time travel defies rules of physics. But I live to defy everything.
Saw these guys open for helmet 2 years ago. Never cared about them before but man they tore that place apart. I was missing out on a great band for 20 + years
I was surprised at how good of a film that was. I wasnt expecting much because it had David Schwimmer in it, but its actually quite good. There was another film with him in it that was pretty good called "The Iceman"
I'm trying to find the fan made video of this song, Hands on the Bible. Man is following another man and a woman, and through flashbacks it's revealed that it is his best friend and girlfriend who are cheating on him. Ends tragically. Was my favorite video of all time. Anybody have a clue where I can find it? Thanks.
Zion Illinois? IVE Never been there but some one once claimed their main street is all pornshops and synagogue. No lie! Lol I have no idea how true that is tbh.
probably not. The guys from Local H (IIRC) went to school in Schaumberg, and I remember when they got picked up by Q101. They've played "local" venues all across Chicago, much like Disturbed, or Korn and the Des Moines IA scene...
They still play at bourbon Street every summer, down the street from my house. I've had many beers with this dude. He hangs out with everyone after shows most of the time.
when u think bout it.perjury consists of talking to strangers.the judge.the lawyer...all of them.pretty much total strangers. and consequences are usually mostly monetary... unless its you the client seeking certain damages or reimbursements...which again can be considered both bloated and exagerrated perhaps
Great album and band, some interesting underlying themes on this lp. I bought it months after its release and became rather mystified at some lyrics and tiny little realitys they picked up and placed into said album concepts. Im not saying it is a concept album. Idk their intentions nor inspirations, but I know some parts of it seem nearly esoteric for me personally. Then thats how good music truly is: "All things to everyone".
This is probably the most underrated song yet, I loved, and still love this song ever since I was 6, today I am 16, and I still enjoy it till this day. Who loves nostalgia?
+U Dont Know My Voice By Now?!! Stone otherwise it's always been 9/17 all my significant others have the same birthday. it's the start of the Jewish new year.
I'm a vegetarian (who eats fish... pescetarian) I play guitar and bass (at the same time) in a duo (founding/original drummer scott. primary drummer lucas) somebody recommended local h pointing out these coincidences. i brushed them off as i threw on a "lost" simon pegg flick. oh yeah did i mention im from oregon and work in a call center? :)
Although I dont agree with the morals in this song at all, I'm very much pro choice and a satanist lol, it's still such a cool song both lyrically and just the alround sound will always be one of my faves
While I can't say that interpretation is "wrong" (death of the author and all that), the lines "smashed on the pavement/stunned in amazement", as well as "you didn't mean it/but they saw you do it and they know your name" better describe an impulsive, enraged act of public violence (homicide) rather than anything like an abortion. The line "a pretty baby never to be born", while unambiguously describing a fetus as a "pretty baby", constitutes the only remotely pro-life material and while I'm not sure if an involuntary abortion rises to the level of "murder", I'd still describe it in pretty harsh terms.
I love this band way underrated one of the best live shows out there!!!
Efffff' yes!
Yessss
Must be fun to see Cali songs in Cali. I agree they rule
@@chrishorst1318 Actually, they're originally from the Chicago area.
I've heard this too. When I was in high school, my brother went to a show and said they kicked ass live.
I just like local h. That's what brought me here 🙃
LMMFAO..me 2 🤣😬..well I hate it but it loves me..😬💯🤷
The big nothing brought me here, can't stop listening to it. I am downloading all their albums right now
One of my favorite Local H's song.
This band right here, is all the proof you need to know that Talent... is not what drives the music industry.
Indeed.
Фильм "Полный облом" познакомил меня с этой песней в 2023. Ну что же.
Я тоже. Прослушал весь их плейлист, но Hands On The Bible, лучшая их композиция.

I want to thank my dad for having me growing up with Nirvana and Local H.
Me too my dad having me growing to local h, nirvana, sublime and soundgarden.
I'd like to thank your dad too.
Hell ya same
Nirvana was overrated. Alice In Chains was superior in every measurable way
Local h i better than nirvana

I fully appreciate the sarcasm for Christianity the band expresses, through the lyrics of this song. One of their best, for sure.

Local H and Toadies. Two most underrated bands

My favorite Christian song.
I thought Local H when they first came out were alternative. When did they become A christian band? I had their first album way back when
@@dianemickelson4384this song is about abortions
It’s actually an anti Christian song
They're not a Christian band....this is just pretty much Christian-like because of it's pro life stance.
