@@HiddenTreasuresMysteries It took me awhile but I found the source of that info. It was an article in the October 1941 Desert magazine. A guy named Rexford Bellamy interviewed Tom Schofield. He also interviewed a mining man, Clifford Gillespie who was leasing and working the claim that included the Dutch Oven mine. Gillespie's description of the trail to the mine matches Schofield's description exactly, except that it is in the Old Woman mountains. Is an interesting article well worth a read.
I really enjoy your stories. I am an old prospector and mineral collector on the east coast but I love hearing these old treasure stories where ever they are. Do you ever do any lost treasure stories on the east coast states?
Yup. Here are a few! ruclips.net/video/tGs_vh8duRw/видео.html ruclips.net/video/2UbUsfTVbnk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Ln3Ay__1Uv4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/5qdHT3ul8LE/видео.html
The entrance for this mine has never been found but gold has been found in the mountain. Most people believe that this mine has already been found even though this particular entrance hasn’t. Others believe that it is still there and many have gone looking for it.
Follow that arrow and see how much treasure you find. Is your name from the treasure of Sierra Madre or Blazing Saddles, El Guapo? Both great movies. 👍
I've heard that it's not in the Clippers, it's in the Old Woman mountains. Schofield said the Clippers to throw people off.
Thanks for the info. That’s an interesting theory.

Wow same thing happened to me.
Great story. I sure hope people are prospecting for this mine?
