Established in 1975, Ahmedia Hotel, a name highly familiar with the locals of Vaniyambadi is the quintessential non-vegetarian lunch stopover in town!
Especially known for its aromatic Biryani made using long grain basmati rice, unlike the typical jeeraga samba rice used in biryanis elsewhere in Tamilnadu, this restaurant claims that its biryani is what brings patrons back each time.
Aside from the biryani, the mutton and quail preparations here are what one should definitely indulge in here. meat is roasted superbly well. not your typical Chettinad/ Kongu chukka. very mild and gentle, allows you to enjoy the flavours of the meat. deep brown on the outside and moist and pink on the inside.

Cooked well although quail is tough to get right. Prominent pepper flavours together with the characteristic crispy curry leaves makes this an intense dish.

thick gravy with the quail having soaked in all the masala. delicious! a dish to definitely order here! all you need is a piece if parota to mop up all the goodness.

Fish tastes fine but doesn't really make the cut. slightly overcooked. the masala hasn't penetrated inside. I prefer the meat dishes here.

certainly an aromatic biryani! made with the long grain basmati. very delicate in it's flavours. pink juicy pieces of mutton, you can taste the pure flavour of the meat. no heavy spices weighing down the meat. this is a delicious biryani!

Thank you sir for visiting this place vaniyambadi. But the peoples think in north Tamilnadu is only grt for ambur briyani but it's copied from like Dingdukkal thalapakati briyani. But in basumathi rice the only one in Tamilnadu is the great vaniyambadi briyani because some peoples dont know that vaniyambadi briyani is the traditional and very old from past 100 years when the town was created. Comparing to ambur. Vaniyambadi is the father of making briyani in Tamilnadu

Everybody is saying ambur briyani is the best but in reality vaniyambadi has some best briyani ..the rate is quite low and the quantity is alot compared with ambur....

Really appreciate the camera work and editing. Vaniyambadi biryani is my favourite. Basmati rice biryani is very prelavent in North Tamil Nadu including Chennai.

Sir, Based on your review, we went from Bangalore to Vaniyambadi to taste the Mutton Briyani last Sunday. Taste of the Mutton biryani was not that great, but the Mutton pieces were cooked awesomely. The Mutton Briyani overall was average (maybe that particular day) and the chicken Briyani couldn't stand near to the taste mutton even 1%, though the chicken pieces were well cooked. The next item was Quail phaal was really delicious and was well suited with Parota served there. Thanks for your suggestion, sir. Looking forward for more reviews.

yesterday i went to this hotel with my friend. the journey from my town was too adventurous via elephant camp in naniyala ramkuppam. the ghat section was scenic. and about the biryani it was awesome.

You can try venu biryani at dindigul..we tried it while coming from Kanyakumari to bangalore ..it was too good..mutton just melts in ur mouth with that samba jeera rice which im a fan now from bangalore...

This type of Biryani is kind of a home preparation with no fancy restaurant touch, as when can see watching a biryani preparation. Loved this fact, the whole aspect of Amanna sir's generosity to cover a food in depth to the preparation to presentation is testimony of the work Food Lovers TV does for it's viewers. Tamarind log is slow burn wood fire, i believe. If you happen to visit Lucknow in future, do check Imly coal degh extensively used in most iconic places there. it's again, does this similar job of degh to split at optimum level so a whole meat and rice is blend in spices well and cook to each grain side
Due to geographical distance, not able to visit this eatery, till a plan to visit the place unfolds in future.
Cross regional food reach is still far distant dream for us Indian, when it comes to the food. One cant devour clothing, packaged food items, neither can carry the hot, delicious food living in extreme part of the country. That's the only problem area many not been able to resolve yet. Except, the fact a cooperative joint initiatives that can take such regional cuisine to different places.
Was surprised, to see Taaza Kitchen in Hyderabad, A replica of Taaza Thindi model in Bangalore, ensuring such concept is reaching places and becoming successful.

Hello Kripal, After watching this video I visited this hotel from Bangalore. The first thing what let me down is the cleaniness of the hotel. The chairs and tables were very dirty. We then ordered Biriyani and I specifically asked him if it was fresh or at least HOT. But they served us biriyani which was cooked in the morning and it was very cold. The stewards lack the knowledge of customer service. I made a mistake by coming to this hotel.
