I was used to listen to Radio Tirana Mediumways in the 80/90's. I often heared a song of a male singer 'Carnaval në Brasilia' (or something). Does anyone have some info of this song / singer? I taped this broadcasts. Like to listen to the songs of the 80/90's. I even met Parasqevi Simaku on a trip to Abania in 1988. Bye from Holland.
I must say that I'm neither greek nor albanian but from what I've listened from both traditionnal musics, I've never listened a greek song that sounds very similar to this. Yes, the sound of the instrument is quite identical ( wich is not surprising knowing the overlapping history of the two countries )but the melodies and harmonies are not. Seems crazy to me how some people want to take away from albanians their very own culture by calling it either turkish, greek, or of course serbian... and I don't know what else ?
