I returned my new Tiffany toggle necklace because I felt exactly the same way! Although I agree they look stunning and so much more elegant, the new version for some reason feel a lot lighter in weight, more delicate and brittle for daily wear I'm afraid it'll snap off! I'm happy with my older thicker toggle necklace, and feel safer with my lobster clasp bracelet. Great comparison video by the way, nobody talks about this!! xxx

I dropped my bracelet at Tiffany’s to have my clasp repaired. They sent it to New York. When I picked it up the sales person commented how extra shiny it looked. When I held it I noticed it felt lighter. When I got home and compared the links to the matching necklace I noticed that the links no longer match! they switched my bracelet and gave me one that weighs less.
I've definitely preferred the older version but I couldn't put my finger on why until I watched this. The new version was clearly much cheaper to make!

That’s horrible I’m so sorry :-( there is another woman in the comments who said that happened to her too. It’s very concerning. I will never have my jewellery repaired at Tiffany, it’s cheaper and safer to hire a local jeweller!

Hi Sophie! Thank you for your message and I’m glad you found my video helpful. So there are mixed opinions about the vintage bracelet, some say it fell off easily because the donut was too rounded which caused the bar to slip out however if you get the chain tightened, you shouldn’t have this problem as it’s only prone to happening if there is too much room around your wrist which therefore allows the chain to have room to undo itself if that makes sense. I think the bracelet is definitely strong enough for everyday wear they are definitely built with higher craftsmanship just as long as it’s not too loose then it should be fine. I would never go to Tiffany for alterations, they charge extortionate fees and take many weeks. Buy the heart separately on eBay and take it to a local jeweller who will charge you a very cheap price that’s what I did. I have another video on my bracelet.
I found a beautiful Please Return to Sender heart bracelet on eBay, but the Tiffany & Co. 925 stamp isn't on the back. The seller says it's because it's an older version. Is this true? They didn't always stamp the back of the hearts? I need to buy in time for Christmas!
Patricia Fraga Yes! I lost mine because of that and had to get the new one with the new toggle.. not a fan. Take it in to Tiffany and they put a protective little chain just Incase it does fall you won’t loose it.

Do you know of Tiffany doing some type of scam where they switch the chains when you have it cleaned? Because I just picked mine up today, and it feels so much lighter. Mine is also 2007. I’ve had it since I was 13. I wear so often that I know how heavy it is on my neck. I honestly can’t stop crying because I know how my necklace feels
O My gosh I would be crying too! And no doubt they might have done it, remember older models had more solid silver, it’s such a shame , this is why I stick with old school cleaning method some dawn and warm water or baking soda and aluminum works like a charm and no harsh chemicals involved nor shady stuff happening when you go to jewelers.

I was at a Tiffany's store today 7/24/2015...and discussed the differences between the new model vs. old model. She said that the newer "flat" lifesaver/doughnut was designed to be flat because they found that the flatter version helped the bar portion lay better on it thereby making it more secure and aid in less chances of it coming loose and off. Makes sense I guess? The thicker Lifesaver is gorgeous but I can see that it might roll more thereby more chance of slippage? However, when I pointed out the link that holds the ACTUAL Lifesaver...well, when you examine the two different models...the older one is much thicker and the newer one is way too thin for comfort. I'd fear it breaking off, too. Btw, the Tiffany saleslady was stumped on that one.

There is no such thing as a Tiffany outlet store and the websites that claim to be are definitely fake. Best to hire authenticators and buy from Ebay or Poshmark.
