Richard Kiambu Brown gimme a break...it's a Winwood song. Hendrix covered Beatles as well. Creme and Dylan too. And the Star Spangled Banner...all different style writers and songs.
Steve Winwood and Chris Wood wrote the music -- Steve played guitar - but, Jim Capaldi wrote the lyrics. This is but another example of Jimi giving a nod back to his friends for writing a song with him in mind. "Sunshine of Your Love" is a more known one. Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker wrote it after seeing Jimi at the Saville Theatre, in London. Even "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" has a nod to Jimi, in that George Harrison admits that he was absolutely going for Jimi's style in his solos. And of course, Jimi played it for Paul, George and Ringo. at the Saville 3 days after the record dropped. Paul was so moved by the tribute that he still is affected by it to this day. Bob Dylan has said that he always felt like everything he wrote belonged to Jimi, if that makes any sense. He has said that anything Jimi did with his songs allowed him to hear what they were supposed to actually sound like. They had some kind of deep, mysterious connection -- what a fantastic time that was. I, for one, am still trying to catch up!!!BlessingsLauren

thnx for posting! LOVE IT
Jimmy always did it his way!!!!
He would do these just by playing by ear ❤️
So sad this wasn't a studio cover. It's awesome.
WOW what a great performance. We we all touched by his brilliance and were lucky enough to have enjoyed it. Brilliant.
Love the solo in this version. The Fillmore version is killer too, and more psychedelic. This version is smooth as butter!
i love this song
Love to have heard the tune he played improvised
When Dr M l King was killed....no tapes were running..that night.
Jimi had some real good taste in music if you look at what songs he's covered
Blows me away ... the distortion and poor audio is awesome to me!!! Pure time capsule here. At least it was recorded for the future.. who cares about crystal clear quality... it’s survived! I wish the show here in flint Michigan was recorded at the IMA auditorium on 3-24-1968... I have a pic from the show and a original concert bill... treasure ....
This is a GREAT song and I alway thought it had a HENDRIX feel to it, my intuitiveness PROVED Prophetic. RIP Jimi you'll be my mentor and inspiration until I join you in eternal sleep
Sam I guess I hear and see things that YOU dont hear, see and understand. There is something about that song that I cant explain that for some reason It reminded me of Jimi and strangely enough Jimi covered it. True,Jimi covered material from other composers but none such as DEAR MR.FANTASY reminded me of him when I heard it
Top Jimi the best
Amazing intro!!!
Love the crowd talking in the beginning. Within a minute they're all ears.
AWESOME
His brilliance never ceases to amaze me.
Great sound from Traffic and revisited by Jimi Hendrix.
How I would love to go back in time
Chilling, so incredible….
Thanks 4 posting! A gem, and recorded from the bass side of the stage to boot!

What a amazing way to start a concert
jimi the man
There is yet to be a song that Jimi covered that doesn't go head & heels over the original in innovation, technique & simple old soul power 1
