The introductory question was too long and elaborate, yet we don't know what was being asked. And as others have commented here, the mic was kept too far from VK and it is impossible to understand what he is saying. Please reload, as presently we can't hear anything. As for the so-called 'Guru-Shishya parampara', it is bloody nonsense, and an excuse devised by Indian culture not to pay a proper fees to the poor Ustad, and to get something for nothing. It is a mean-hearted small- minded and tightfisted beggarly trick which has fooled musicians for generations. There is nothing good about it. In the past, Mughal emperors rewarded musicians with a tray of silk clothes and expensive shawls along with gold and silver. Nowadays, when someone like Ustad Vilayat Khan performs, he is offered a shawl and a bouquet of flowers, and sent home with a miserly cheque not befitting his work and performance. What performing artists need is proper monetary rewards, and not stupid shawls. What do you do with them?
