    Nice review. I look forward to your comparison between the Zero 8 and Zero 9. I would appreciate it if you could compare the ride quality, the grip (zero 8 has solid rear tire), the breaking distance and the hill climb ability. I wonder if the extra 100W motor power makes a difference. I really appreciate your scooter reviews they are some of the best I've seen. Subscribed.

    That shake in the front doesn't seem right. I have a Zero 9 and there is no shake at any speed so maybe your head-stem is loose or something about the front wheel is unbalanced or out of alignment?
    Great in-depth review as usual. I guess it's what you are used to, but front brake on the right bar is the same for a motorbike as most of your speed control is then down to your right hand. Front brake is the most effective brake due to weight transfer and is the one that brings you to an emergency stop so it's best just to get used to using it progressively rather than relying on the rear on a scooter able to do over 40kph. The rear is great for skids and slides though ;)

    I got one of these (turbo wheel dart), one the best overall scoots out there but BE AWARE the 6 small screws that fasten the whole front assembly to the main body are simply not up to it. they screw into a 1/4'' aluminum structure inside and the small fine threaded bolts will eventually strip out the soft aluminum from all the jolting of general scooting around. I learnt this at full speed going over speed bump when the scooter literally broke in half beneath me and believe me its all over at this point. no exageration it took my sprained wrists a year to properly heal. the solution replace the small bolts with larger through bolts and nuts. eg not reliaing at all on aluminum threads.

      can you elaborate more on this? i'm interested in this scooter but this sounds like a pretty big deal. what part broke? the clap that holds the sliding part of the top? or at the folding joint at the bottom where you step on the lever? do you mean this issue listed here? www.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters/comments/buu940/zero_9_feedback_broke_apart_while_riding/

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  5 лет назад +2

      @Tyler Ellis, The Zero 8 has held up well. The two scooters really have a lot of differences. The 8 is easier to play around with, accelerates quicker, and is easier to carry. The 9 is more comfortable, has a higher top speed, has better braking, and is more capable off trails. I think the range between the two is pretty comparable which i'll verify with more range testing on the 9. I prefer riding the 8 as i just think its a blast to tear around on.

    I’m in the market for a scooter fellas, and I’m stuck between this one here and the Kaabo Skywalker 10s! Now for the same price, you get much more power and perks with the Skywalker, such as 1200watts motor, 37mph, one single under deck led lightning, an electronic bell, hydraulic breaks and air tires, and the scooter is 50lbs! The only selling point for me on the zero9 for me, would be those damn lights which I know are fooling me into buying it, when for $1150 I get a 1100watt motor instead of 600watts, 10 extra pounds of weight, only one color light under deck, and kinda better perks! What would you do?

    Hi,
    I loved your thorough videos and I took a lot of insights about Zero9 and Zero8. I am about to buy it and I am biased for its weight and portability. I am looking also the Zero8, zoom stryder, m365pro and ninebot max (indigogo campaign). I live in Greece and I bought the es2 ninebot but after 200km I added an extra battery and the same day the scooter crashed and moro hub behaved abnormally, so I opened it and I saw the horror...cheep thin wires and everything was pretty damaged inside. So I would like to buy a better one according to build quality and suspension. I weigh 96kg and I have a lot of bump and slopes in my area. What do you believe it is the best between the four that I mentioned above???

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  5 лет назад

      @Apostolos Baritakis, I can't speak to the m365pro and ninebot max. Since you are a little heavier than me I'd really say you want to get the highest voltage you can afford. I'd go for 48v and with lots of bumps I'd really look at good suspension. The Zero 8 and Zoom Stryder do well on bumps, the Zero 9 does a little better though. From a power perspective I think you'd be happier on either of the two Zero models. I hope that helps, i'll do my best to get my hands on a ninebot. Thanks for the comment.

    Do the battery show only 1 bar when reaching max speed even when fully charged? and then goes back to normal when slowing down or braking

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  5 лет назад

      @TommyVR, There shouldn't be that much of a drop when fully charged. It is normal for the battery indicator to drop as its measuring voltage to determine the battery level. Some scooters drop more than others. My Zero 8 drops a bar even fully charged under full acceleration. If it goes back to normal and your range is good I'd say that's not an issue. I hope that helps.

    Great video....I'm in indonesia and there are limited options in my country...even though I'm watching this in 2022, would it still be a recommended scooter for a beginner (starting off slow with the proper gear n' all)? I'm 5'1" and I weigh 40-43 kg. Would really appreciate the adivce.

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  2 года назад +1

      This reply may be too late, I would honestly not recommend this scooter as a beginner for a petite rider out of the box, but if you adjust some of the P settings I think you will be ok. The gears just cap the speed and dont change the degree of acceleration and top speed.

    I just bought a zero 9 a couple of weeks ago. I have an issue/question.... Do you hear a light "popping" sound when you brake(both front or back), it's not the brakes themselves that make the sound. I think it's the motor(regeneration braking). If you go to settings on P11 and adjust the level to 2 or higher the popping sound occurs. When I set it to 0, the sound is gone. I was wondering if it's just my scooter or if its normal for all zero 9's. Hopefully you or someone that reads this comment can answer this for me. Thanks you!

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  4 года назад

      Did you check tension on all of the bolts near the motor? It sounds to me like something is moving or the suspension is slightly compressing when the ebraking gets stronger. Could be no issue but worth contacting whom you purchased it from.

    What is your weight! It is crucial to estimate real parameters in relation to an individual person. For instance I am 1.86 tall and 120 kg weight. Są I am courious what distance is real for me. And how wast Zero 9 would be with me. And what does it mean 500W direct drive rear, Controller output makes it 600W. Sellers writes 600W engine. So it's a marketing bullshit? Or it means 600 peak? Pls explain.

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  5 лет назад +1

      I am 175lbs/80kg. I replied to your other comment about distance. On the motor, the 2018 model I reviewed had a 500 watt motor, the 2019 has a 600 watt motor. The motor rating is what they are rated for at continuous output, so not quite marketing bullshit but kinda. The actual motor output is battery volts multiplied by controller output so for the Zero 9, both years, it should be 960 watts peak. I hope that helps.

    • @ElectronSurfer
