love the practice of giving yourself time to accomplish things BEFORE checking your phone. It's a hard habit to break but the days when I'm successful I've noticed it really sets me up to have a better day mentally and emotionally.
My favourite part of this video: knowing someone else shares my love for cheese 😊 My second favourite thing: getting an insight into your routine. I am a story consultant which involves delivering 1:1 creative consultations to professional writers and freelancers. Our roles aren’t the same but there is a lot of crossover, especially when it comes to working independently. Thanks for sharing your day in the life vid. Am working up the courage to share mine so this was super helpful 💗
Hi, just wanted to let you know that I love your content! I love how authentic you are, showing a messy kitchen and normalizing it is so refreshing! I also relate to you being often late and not always achieving every goal you set! All little things but I find it so inspiring.
This is giving me inspo to get back to my morning/day routines, which gets shaken up semester after semester as a graduate student/employeenotquiteemplyee. It's 1 a.m. so I don't see getting that routine straight for Sunday's morning, but I'll try to plan it out so that things are more structured for Monday and forward. Glad to see you and your household thriving!
I love videos like this ! It lets me see what to look forward to. I see that you use different models (collaborative therapy, solution focused, etc.) for different clients you have. I thought that we are supposed to pick a model that fits our therapy style and apply that to the clients we see.
Your authenticity and grace are beautiful and your life is such a blessing for others. Know that you are a leader with your brilliant mind and incredibly sweet heart.
Wow you have a wonderful work life balance, I start my internship today and I already have 15 clients ready lol I’m freaking out trying my best to catch up on what I’ve learned in my classes lol. Great video please continue to keep up with your content!! It’s refreshing and helpful
Thank you! Work life balance is so important to me. 15 on your first day?! Wow. You're going to rack up those hours in no time! Let me know any videos that would be helpful for you on this new phase of your journey, and congratulations on your first day!
@@StephAnya no not in one day 15 new clients assigned to me! Lol can you please do a video on how to gather information for first sessions and CBT! Please

@@StephAnya Yes, absolutely! I found your channel because I start a counseling program next year and I have been watching a lot of Day in the Life videos. I just love your personality and the calmness of your channel.
Thank you for this video! As a new therapist myself, this was great to see that we have similar lifestyles. I am also back in the office but doing telehealth with all my clients. How do you handle midday tiredness? I try to move around before sessions and I don't like to have another cup of coffee in the later day, anything you recommend?
I absolutely loved this video and your presentation of your day-to-day as a therapist. I am a provisionally clinical licensed social work in NC and new this (recent grad). I will also affirm that play and art therapy has helped me engaged younger clients as well.
thank you for this it lets me know i am not the only one trying to sqeeze in time between clients and i am trying not to work past 6pm which is very hard considering parents work scheduel :(,
Hi Steph I'm in the Masters program at NCU for MFT. Just wondering...did you (others) work full-time during the practicum period? Also how many hours would you estimate a week for the practicum?
Did u ever regret being a therapist or didn’t like one of ur clients? When u first started did u get clients regularly ? Is it possible for u to not have any clients at all for a while?
@@StephAnya thank you so much! i didn’t think about that! But i would love a video on that, but was just asking a question. I am an AMfT just finished my hours but primarily have been in a wraparound facilitator role and a few therapy clients so just wondering how did you learn- different modalities, interventions, etc & grow to become the therapist you are today. It’s alot of information and curious some best practices to retain info & become more knowledgeable in the field. I work with children.
Do you ever feel traumatized by some of the things you hear from your clients? Do you ever think about what they said when you go home e at the end of the day?
Great question! Not typically. However, there have been times where I’ve been really worried about a client based on where they are in the last session. Usually we’ll schedule an extra appointment for additional support.

I wish I had more tips to share, but in addition to moving around like you do, sometimes I’ll go chat with some coworkers. They make me laugh.

Hi Steph I'm in the Masters program at NCU for MFT. Just wondering...did you (others) work full-time during the practicum period? Also how many hours would you estimate a week for the practicum?
This was very informative!
How many clients do you have overall?
I honestly have no idea overall caseload-wise, but I see about 23 clients per week if that helps.
I need to give myself more time between sessions to do notes. They’re easy to put off 😩
So easy to put off! That’s why I have to knock it out. Otherwise, I get super lazy about it lol
I wish I could work half from home and half in the office because most of my clients are telehealth anyway. Community mental health problems 🙄.
I’m actually in community mental health too! I am definitely grateful for the balance.
What a hike need o start taking me morning walks in joggs....
stone mountain? and why did i try catching the bottle? lol
I think it’s Decatur at that point, but I did grow up in Stone Mountain! I’m laughing so hard at the thought of that hahaha 😂
I just realized that you were asking about the hike not the city haha. Not Stone Mountain! That is not a quick hike for me 🥵
