My mechanic fitted an internal door release at the same time that he fitted our diesel heater. Really handy!
If you get a bungee and loop it through the strap handle you can hook it to the door catch which keeps the door at a 45 degree angle. Ideal when you want ventilation for cooking and it’s windy and rainy outside.
It’s also easier to reach it to close it from inside.
