    This is how I found the Urban Gentry Channel! This FOV model (along with the companion Pearl Harbor P-40 are very well done! In my opinion these two are much better in quality than the other FOV planes. The detail and precision of construction of these models are second to none!
    I love watches and clocks so this is a great channel. TGV guy is very charismatic and certainly knowledgeable in horology! As an "influencer" he is the best, someone who you can trust.
    I have purchased the Flighty, Seagull Chronograph, Fortis Cosmonaut Day/Date, and Marathon Navigator Date based on TGV's recommendation!

    Had my trigger finger on a couple nato straps, but I had to buy this as soon as I saw your video. Unfortunately I paid twice as much... oh well. I had so many WW2 models as a kid but I simply don't have the time to build them anymore. I see what you mean about the sketchy stand. I might fill in the packaging mount holes with some wood putty and paint them. anyways keep these videos coming!

    Beautiful die cast!
    It just pains me at the end to see them killing our guys and and destroying our fleet.
    BUT, we pan fried them pretty good at Hiroshima.....
    Still loving my squale! I can see you are too..

    • @theurbangentry
      @theurbangentry  9 лет назад

      auxmike Hi Mike, I totally understand how you feel. I felt the same way when I was reviewing the Stuka last month. It felt a tiny bit wrong knowing my family members actually had to fight against these things in Africa and in Europe. I guess its more about respect and a love for the Aircraft. The pilots were doing their duty as were my family members trying to shoot them down. Its a strange thing but when I talk to War Vets there is always a hint of respect for the enemy. Politics aside, these war birds from a design perspective demand respect regardless if its Imperial Japan, Allies or the Luftwaffe flying it. Its funny too that everyone today drives a Benz, Porsche, or Mitsubitshi without even batting an eyelid.
      Great comment, cheers!
      Best regards,
      TGV

      auxmike Ps. So glad u got the Squale, hows yrs treating you? Have you got it on rubber/nato/steel?

    • @auxmike
      @auxmike 9 лет назад

      It's on the rubber currently. I also have the Milanese mesh which is a lot nice than the after market pieces. The links are like the tracks on a tank!
      I got the whole kit in mint condition for $540 shipped. No brainer decision. I have the domed crystal which adds an even more retro essence to the watch.

      auxmike you mean they pan fried the innocent civilians.
      At least japan attacked the army and not the civilians because civilians have nothing to do with the war.

    TGV. STARTED MY CHANNEL. ONE WATCH REVIEW AND TWO WORK EXPLANATIONS (I have a different type job!) I'm modeling it after yours but maybe a little more towards the men who are a level below you in collecting. You set a great example. By the way my father was an air force pilot from the early 50d until late 70s. So he has great stories because the older fellows he worked with and looked up to were all WW II Fighter pilots. Great fireside chats with him as he is still a pilot at 76. Cheers Sam

      @theurbangentry  9 лет назад +1

      No1fibersplicer Hi Sam,
      I am truly honoured by your comment. You father sounds like a top bloke.
      I will indeed check out your channel NOW.
      I only disagree with one thing, there is no "lower level" to collecting to me, we are all equal in my eyes. I have just as much respect for a person who loves his $200 watch as much as a person wearing a 20k piece. Its the love for horology I respect not the value. So, with that being said wear your watches with pride!
      Best regards and thank you again,
      TGV

    The one you have is very early model, A6M2. The newer model like A6M3 or M5 usually get new engines or shortened wings for better speed. You should try war thunder. This plane is awesome! i always laugh at those who deal to challenging me in turn fight and they always end up in front of my Zero.
    However most parts are made of woods so it get ripped apart quite easily also once it get burned it will be burn forever. But as the legends said, it is a difficult target to hit and that's true! i find many players have a hard time try to shoot me down but most of time boom and zoom tactic is the most effective way to use against zero.

  • @dalahobbies
    @dalahobbies 9 лет назад

    Wow TGV, awesome presentation as always! That aircraft looks really good and that tank will be sitting on my shelf here in the near future as well.
    Thank you very much for mentioning my channel above, this coming from you really means a lot to me and it is most definitely appreciated!!!
    Here's to an awesome 2015,
    David

      Dala Hobbies Hi David,
      You are very welcome. I was going to give you a plug on the video but I stupidly forgot but I will of course ALWAYS promote you from now on when ever I do a Diecast review.
      I apologise I still didn't reply to your last email, I must admit I am slightly overwhelmed with running this channel as well as my two other "real" jobs. Talk soon and yes 2015, BRING IT!
      Best possible regards,

    Well. Hello my friend, my name is Emmett..and i just wanted to comment on your review of the A6M2b zero fighter 2 yrs ago..and just wanted to let you know that,..that A6M2b zero fighter, came in the correct color, witch is Imperial Japanese navy. ( gray-green)..the Japanese A6M2b zero fighter was never painted white.in 1941..they were, dark green with light grey under carrege,..light gray green for the intire aircraft, and light grey for the intire aircraft, and,some we're not painted at all from the factory and we're left their bare metal finish...but none, we're painted white.. the Director of Peral Harbor was told this but ,he didn't care..and lastly..that tank that you called a Bomb..is actually the external fuel tank.for long range flying..but should be dropped before air combat...signed Emmett U.S.M.C..but hopefully you will know all of this by now..take care my friend..

    Don't Forces of Valor planes come with some accessories? I think they come with the option to have the landing gear up so it looks like it's flying, and also come with a few bombs.

    I have just started collecting, and jumped straight to the A6M2.
    Bought the Corgi version, while it is a good model, it lacks the speed indicator and correct colour, more a blueish/grey.
    This FOV has nailed it more in my book, it even gives the option of displaying with fuel tank in flight mode, which the Corgi does not.
    Ordered a Dragon Wings A6M2, hope it fairs better.

      The fov zero and p-40 are extremely well done! Perhaps a different factory than most fov stuff (but all their stuff is good!) but the fine detail and precision is remarkable in these two models!

  • @sheepshaggah8776
    @sheepshaggah8776 8 лет назад +2

  • @johnpatrickfay5288

    The only real issue with this zeke, heavy duty panel lines, they did not exist on the zero, flush body panels.
    The plus, can display with fuel tank, the corgi does not allow this with its stand.
    Very poor thinking on their part, anyway, FOV produce some fine models that are equal or better than corgi in some aspects.
