I paniced after just 6 weeks as the sole split a little. Clark's gave me a full refund. I cut the edges of the split at 90 degrees to the split and it stopped. I had them re heeled once. But they lasted well. The goretex lining was junk though. And due to the heel slip the back of the heel wore, they made the stupid mistake of just having the jersey material there. I patched it up with duct tape. The uppers were 100% OK after the two years. I also got a pair of quality leather flip-flops from them. They lasted me 10 years of casual use. When they broke I got another seriously expensive pair from a brand I can't recall...... The same price, one year later they were toast. Clark's is a great brand. Perhaps not the best. But great none the less

I got a pair of Clarks Bushacre Chukka boots and I love them. They are build similar to the desert boots but with a rubber outsole and an Ortholite Footbed. They were extremely comfortable right out the box. I think they are way better than the desert boots for a good price but it seems they are out of production. But you can still get them.
Yeah, the Bushacre is great, because it eliminates the problem of that crepe sole. I have four pairs; one near death, two in rotation, and one in reserve, not yet worn, and purchased for just $30 on clearance.
I got my Clark’s bushacre for $43 off Amazon. I think that’s actually a fair price. I agree with the skinny ancle flop. I added an eyelet for to the top and they now stay on my feet. Very much needed. That and an insole
I have several pairs of Clarks Desert boots & the soles came unglued on my oldest pair (about 30 yrs old). When I was glueing them back on, I saw these ones do have a shank in them.
I have a pair of coach Kingston “chukka” but it’s basically a desert boot that I paid $400 for and the crepe sole is already falling off. It would be cool to see a comparison of you cutting those up and comparing them to the Clark’s chukka as they look almost identical to this pair.
I found them SO uncomfortable actually. Woudln't break in and couldn't get a size that was snug enough around my foot but also roomy enough in the toe box.
Cant wait to see the Nicks boots collaboration. Id love to get a pair but i already spent my boot budget on a pair of whites perry 6 in, jumped the gun a bit and missed out on 8 in. The whites journeyman would be a boot id like to see cut in half cause it might be the next one i get when the perrys die years from now. Thursday captains would be another cut in half id like to see. Great video, keep it up.
I have owned a pair of the Clarks Desert Trek for more than 15 years. They are excellent walking shoes and have a wedge sole. The sole has never 'chunked off' or split. The uppers are still in remarkably good condition. I have just bought another pair that only cost $150 AUD including delivery. All in all, I think they are excellent shoes.
He changes his mind just as soon as he sees how their made and what their made of. The suede is the best suede money can buy and it's pretty thick at 2.2mm. The sole of the shoe inside goes all the way to the end of the boot and doesn't stop in the middle like he pointed out earlier in the video. The crepe isn't just crepe it actually has some dense foam on the inside to keep up the structure of the wedge and give it some longevity since crepe doesn't hold up as well over time. It's a wedge shaped sole and not technically a heel so it doesn't really need a shank for arch support. Quote of the day "I did not expect to see..." True name for the video is "Clark's fixed many of the things I used to hate about them".
Yeah, I have 3 pairs of Originals that get a ton of rotation but after about a a mile of walking the dogs are fatigued. These new wedge styles looks as if they addressed that issue. W/o losing anything that makes Clark’s ver of the desert boot great. I might have to sell my 3 pairs of originals for a pair of the new version.
I have a pair of Norton Pace boots by Clarks and I love how they look and feel, but don't know how good they actually are. I would love to see you cut something like that in half and hear your comments about how they are constructed
I really liked my Clarks Holmby Top Chukka Boot. This boot I had for over 3 years and wore it everywhere, from work to a Europe trip. Would you consider dissecting this boot?
Hello, I see this shoe varies a little in US size compared to the cm in length. When purchasing it, did you ask for your usual size in US? or did you order a larger size? Since I am going to buy an ATL Hi goretex and I have that doubt regarding the cm. Thank you
I had to get a third row of eyelets put into my Clarks because I couldn’t stand how loose they felt. That plus an insole and they feel much better, I don’t wear them often though.
Rose anvil, I know you don’t seem to do a ton with loafers/ dress shoes but I would like to know if it is possible to attach a sperry topsider rubber sole onto a pair of horsebit Gucci loafers. Do you have any thoughts on it/ know someone who would do something like that/ is that something you would do? Thanks!
Recommendation, request to review cut in 1/2 Clarks Wallabee. Its been revealed that the new construction reduces the original crepe sole to just an applied outsole with a man made interior and no longer a complete crepe sole. Any thoughts?
Hey, I know this video is a little old, but could you someday do a comparison of the Clarks Desert Boot to the Clarks Bushacre 2 Boot? Which is better? Great video! Thanks!
You are really right about the flaws of Clarks, I guess I just realize I hate the crepe soles after buying my only pairs of clarks. However after I change the sole, it was way better. But I guess the bottomline is if you are into the Chukka boot, it will be more worthy to buy some other counterpart that are not called "dessert boots".
My point is I realize I don’t like this type of shoes not long after I bought them 10 years ago. I am just glad that somebody actually points out that they are overrated in terms of comfortability.
I know is a different video I just want to ask you about the eyelets from the thorogoods that they are split from the back and the can rip the laces, my thoughts for a boot that price they should change the eyelet strim for riveted eyelets
I love my Clark’s ! They don’t choke off my feet and they last forever and looks nice years later. When I buy a new pair I always purchase a top quality insole and the they work for me. I forget the brand of insole but they are green.....

Yeah i just got the rockie two high goretex which i haven't had chance to wear yet i found them too wide for my lady feet but a air max insole has sorted that out.
Congrats on your line of boots, I just may have to cop a pair. I like everything on the new version of the Clark’s Desert Boot except the wedge. I had “the original desert boot” in the early 00s (khaki suede) yes, the sole disintegrated in barely 2 years, plus the upper was too fragile to cope with the local damp climate I lived in (the UK).

I’m English and therefore Clarks Desert Boots are a thing for me! I finally got a pair last year after not really being able to afford them for years, so your vids were a bit disappointing to me! 🤣🤣🤣 I completely agree with the ankles not being tight. Clarks Desert Boots are notorious for running big. I wear an insole in mine (orthotic one, so partly for that reason too) and that solved the problem to a large extent but they are still a bit loose and I am quite slight, so I also have “lady ankles” Clarks shoes are quite difficult to break in. I have a few pairs and have found this with every one. The desert boots cut my heel to ribbons the first time I wore them but I’ve not had any problems subsequently. My wife has a pair of Clarks trainers and she says they have rubbed too so it must be a thing with their shoes. I agree too that you pay for the name a bit. My beeswax Desert Boots are a thing of beauty though and I love them! Clarks did used to be considered good quality when I was a kid but, as with most things, I suspect they are not as good as they once were. Love your videos, by the way! All the best from the UK 🇬🇧
Does that sole get extreamly slippery in the wet when it's worn smooth? Looks like the sole on my old school shoes, there was alot of falls going on in the wet. Nomads were the shoes back then.
Crepe soles are not intended for wet conditions. Excessive wetness may cause the crepe sole to break down prematurely. I believe this is known as hydrolysis often associated with TPU outsoles. If you are going to wear after a summer rain, I’d be extra cautious traversing cement or metal stairs or steep inclines/declines. I never wear my Clark’s Originals desert boots in wet conditions but I will wear the Bushacre chukka (same style as Clark’s Original desert boot but has leather beeswax upper and a non-crepe rubber outsole. Clark’s Desert Boot 2 keeps the suede upper and swaps the traditional crepe outsole for a more dense rubber probably more similar to the Bushacre lines. I love the style but I would not recommend the Originals line for anyone over 150lbs as there is zero arch support and not comfortable if your day involves more than 1 mile of walking. If you like the style I would skip the Originals and Desert Boot 2 lines completely and start w/ the Desert Coal wedged version.

These are currently 50% off at Clarks UK store. So, maybe pretty good value at only £65 GBP ($79 USD at today's exchange rate - Dec 5 2022).
Hey. I work for Clark’s and I would like to know how to clean the cheese bottom. My customers call cheese the yellow part. Thanks. And now they are $150.00
Love to see a winter boot series, for when it gets really cold
Are ladies boots made the same are Clark's boots made well ??
I have several pairs of Clarks Desert boots & the soles came unglued on my oldest pair (about 30 yrs old). When I was glueing them back on, I saw these ones do have a shank in them.
I have a pair of coach Kingston “chukka” but it’s basically a desert boot that I paid $400 for and the crepe sole is already falling off. It would be cool to see a comparison of you cutting those up and comparing them to the Clark’s chukka as they look almost identical to this pair.
The rubber sole when degrade over time become sticky where leaves,.stone and paper stick on it. 😂
You should take a look at Clark's Chelseas, specifically Clarkdale Gobi. I have 2 pair and love them dearly.
I found them SO uncomfortable actually. Woudln't break in and couldn't get a size that was snug enough around my foot but also roomy enough in the toe box.
ROSE ANVIL BOOTS Release Email List - forms.gle/1aQ3xXaURRwEYhXt7
Cant wait to see the Nicks boots collaboration. Id love to get a pair but i already spent my boot budget on a pair of whites perry 6 in, jumped the gun a bit and missed out on 8 in. The whites journeyman would be a boot id like to see cut in half cause it might be the next one i get when the perrys die years from now. Thursday captains would be another cut in half id like to see. Great video, keep it up.
*_I have never seen a human ever on earth in my lifetime wear Chuka boots.. So why do you keep covering them??.._*
*_Do combat boots!!!_*
@N.A. *_Thank God I'm not in Europe!!!_*
Magic spoon, magic spoon
After this amazing series can you do a Chelsea boot one? It would really complete the boot search series.
Could you cut a “Clark’s Shacre” in half? I wondering if it has a similar foam in the middle of the outsole like the desert cole.
I got those desert chukkas you split last year, the laces they came with are terrible and they don't hold the knot. Suggestions?
Maybe the foam acts as a support against lateral movement? I mean, it is an inch and a half thick.
I have a pair of Norton Pace boots by Clarks and I love how they look and feel, but don't know how good they actually are. I would love to see you cut something like that in half and hear your comments about how they are constructed
will you also do RW Weekender Chukkas?
hey do you wear raw selvedge denim jeans or is that something youre interested in?
I really liked my Clarks Holmby Top Chukka Boot. This boot I had for over 3 years and wore it everywhere, from work to a Europe trip. Would you consider dissecting this boot?
Great video try the Clark’s bushacre it has a non-crepe sole and the oil tanned ‘waxed version is actually reasonably priced .
I have the Clark’s classic chucks with a hard rubber sole. Can you get ahold of those to cut
Hello, I see this shoe varies a little in US size compared to the cm in length. When purchasing it, did you ask for your usual size in US? or did you order a larger size? Since I am going to buy an ATL Hi goretex and I have that doubt regarding the cm. Thank you
If I only have $160ish, should I be buying a pair of these or the Thursday Scouts that you examined a few weeks ago?
If you like the Clarks, I'd wait for a sale. They have somewhat frequent sales, more often in their stores. Slightly less often online.
One pound 5oz combined or individual?
I recently bought Clarks bushacre 3. They were great, but sole ripped on my 1st day of wearing them. Sadly, I had to return it back to Macy's.
I had to get a third row of eyelets put into my Clarks because I couldn’t stand how loose they felt. That plus an insole and they feel much better, I don’t wear them often though.
Can you make a cut in half review video of the veldskoen chukkas?
Bushacre 3 or originals 2 cut in half coming soon?
Rose anvil,
I know you don’t seem to do a ton with loafers/ dress shoes but I would like to know if it is possible to attach a sperry topsider rubber sole onto a pair of horsebit Gucci loafers.
Can you cut a desert boot 221 so we can see what it's made of?
Hey, I know this video is a little old, but could you someday do a comparison of the Clarks Desert Boot to the Clarks Bushacre 2 Boot? Which is better? Great video! Thanks!
What do u think of Ecco as a brand and their leather quality? Would u look into their dynima leather please. Thanks. Would love to know ur insight.
I am ordered clarks fish cut ladies sandals.. And paid also but it's fake dont got my order still
You are really right about the flaws of Clarks, I guess I just realize I hate the crepe soles after buying my only pairs of clarks. However after I change the sole, it was way better. But I guess the bottomline is if you are into the Chukka boot, it will be more worthy to buy some other counterpart that are not called "dessert boots".
so if someone didn't tell it uncomfortable you would realized the one you owned is..how programable we r
I think some socks depicting "My lady ankles" would be quite fun.
Would love to know how the wallabies hold up
What is your thoughts on Johnson & Murphy chukka boots? Have you cut any on those in half?
I love my Clark’s ! They don’t choke off my feet and they last forever and looks nice years later. When I buy a new pair I always purchase a top quality insole and the they work for me. I forget the brand of insole but they are green.....
Can you do a review on clarks weaver shoes?. Thanks.
Looking at buying some Chukka boots for my change in style. Have you cut in half any dress shoe companies...Becket Simonon, Ace Marks, etc...? Thanks for the videos! New subscriber
would have tell your idea about cole haan chakka boots?
I recently purchased trainers, casual boots and a pair of goretex boots. So far very pleased with them, as comfortable as wearing well worn in trainers.
That’s a deal breaker for me, reminds me of my wife’s shoes. I would have preferred that they kept the heel and added a shank for extra support and bam… perfecto!
Love the new model too but my sentiments remains with you the higher heels
removing the heels is even better, the shoe is then 0 drop and retains the comfy flexibility of no shank.
Any chance to do an episode on Clarks Wallabees?
I just found your channel today and I am into it. Any word on the Red Wing Weekender Chukka? There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of technical information or reviews out there at this point. Looks decent on paper but I'd love to know what's inside!
Damn that knife is sharp. If I was doing these videos, I'd have a fingerless left hand, and/or have disemboweled myself by now
I had “the original desert boot” in the early 00s (khaki suede) yes, the sole disintegrated in barely 2 years, plus the upper was too fragile to cope with the local damp climate I lived in (the UK).
Can you do a video on the Clarks wallabies?
Ok where can hi buy them
In the U.K. the Clark’s tend to be the go to desert book but now I’m very tempted by the Jim Brown vellie
My clarks are now 6 year's old and in good condition, seem to last me ages and that's with regular use as their my only two pairs of boots I own...
I have the classics but just never reach for them for the reasons you mentioned. Slip around inside them a tonne despite buying the right size
Will you do something from Rockport?
I liked baby todfler shoes do you get a pairvof brookes trainers, the ones for heal slammers pronstors?i cind tbem supportive and not so slippy i just bought pair somons i specifivally asked if they were good for fell running um they slip in town kentucky fried chickens shop like crazy.

A teraz jest kolekcja Clarks z Vibram oraz Gore tex, proszę Rose Anvil zrób test
True to size?
I’m English and therefore Clarks Desert Boots are a thing for me! I finally got a pair last year after not really being able to afford them for years, so your vids were a bit disappointing to me! 🤣🤣🤣
I completely agree with the ankles not being tight. Clarks Desert Boots are notorious for running big. I wear an insole in mine (orthotic one, so partly for that reason too) and that solved the problem to a large extent but they are still a bit loose and I am quite slight, so I also have “lady ankles”
Clarks shoes are quite difficult to break in.
What Eyeglasses are those?
red wing?
I don't like the white foam inside the insole . I prefer all solid rubber in the insole .
Would you cut up a pair of the wallabees? Loved the video!!
