That’s my great aunt :) She grew up in Colorado, outlived multiple husbands, and was a wild soul. She was voted sherif of Boise (I believe, maybe another smaller town nearby) via write in because nobody likes the men running. I remember seeing all of this at her house near Boise, watching humming birds one summer, trying to freeze a bubble one winter. ♥️

I wonder how they got Horseshoe Bend, Idaho? They went the long way around to get to her shop LOL. Anyway, miss ya Charlie and Manetta, and glad you taught me how to shape my own hats. I still have one of them...

If I were making a national show about a western subject -- I would ask which sounds more western, Horseshoe Bend, or Idaho CITY (or other places). I have thought about your question for years and only came up with the answer... it is the sound and connotation of the names.

She should teach her customers not to pinch the crown. That will eventually ruin the shape. Always handle your hat by the brim.
