Ok here goes. The caliper mount does not need to come off unless seriously rusty. My disc came out with couple of bangs with just caliper and pads out. Its 12mm hex spanner for caliper and sline m14 or m18 for caliper mount if needed. Use copper grease on back of pads and sliding pins. Clean all parts with wire brush especially face on hub before putting new disc. My caliper was seized and needed serious wiggling back and forth to retract with caliper rewind tool.
Great video! But on facelift model (my one supercopa 2012) you don't have to remove rear calliper carrier (very hard job), you just have to remove calliper it self. It is slightly different than on 2010. You will need two spanners 13mm and 15mm.
One good tip when replacing your discs is to keep a close eye on the fluid level in the reservoir. Because you're pushing all the pistons back in, there's a danger of overfilling and overflowing the reservoir.
You cannot push back the piston with handbrake on. I figured it by myself when I changed my brakes. (Skoda Roomster 1.2 TDI 2011) Almost same with the Seat Leon. Just leave it in 1st gear without the handbrake.
it's probably different with the FR, but with the 1.9 TDi, does the caliper carrier need to be unbolted - i've read that the disc can slip out past the carrier.
I've got supercopa fr 2012,rear carrier no need to remove, just the calliper it self. It is slightly different than shown here. You will need 13mm spanner and 15mm. To replace front discs you have to remove calliper carrier (21mm socket)
I’ve changed my pads today using this video. Wondering if you could help as now the front left has a very loud knocking from the front left on uneven roads. Sounds like something is hanging off. Double checked the wheel bolts and calliper bolts but still there. Possible the pads are rattling in the calliper? Cheers
Ivo Lopes 17mm for wheel lugs think it’s a t25 for the disc bolt, 13 mm spanner for caliper m14 spline for caliper hanger. And of corse the wide back tool that’s for the rear just recently completed mine
If anyone has a Golf or A3, this process is the same. I hope this video helps you out guys.
Jetta and Jetta/golf sportwagen should be the same too! :) you should have pumped the brakes with the reservoir cap off to burp any air out.
Buy yourself a decent breaker bar, you don't want to be undoing/doing-up wheel nuts with your socket wrench really.
Hi Jake, Great video, very clear and really helpful, it helped me out of a tight spot this afternoon! Many thanks for posting.

You legend! I was struggling which pads to get for my 2.0tdi 2012 Supercopa
You should squirt brake cleaner on them and get all the oil off which stops them from rusting in storage
There are painted discs, they're not greased.

me and my friend did my seat ibiza front yesterday. the torx screw was t30, the caliper slider bolt allen size is 7mm
Up for undoing the nuts?
Nice vid..I noticed you started from the rear on the drivers side. Did you repeat the same order on the passenger side ?????

you say its a 14 for caliper bolts but what is the torx bit size
Can I ask, with the rears, do you have the handbrake on or off?

Spine or torx or hex? Copper grease? Brake cleaner for new parts? Erm none of the above.
what happens with the old disc and pads are they recycled ??

Assume mk2 from 2008 will be identical?
You didnt show adjusting the hand brake shoes on the rear discs.
hi all ... a question ... is that a carbon brake disks ???
No copper grease required ? Cool
Stephen Teasdale copper grease may end up causing the pad wear sensors to trip falsely
Any idea what the diameter of the brake discs was???. There's two sizes on euro car parts. My alloys are same as yours so will be the same discs
what is the brand you used for the rear brake pads and disks?
Can anyone confirm whether the rear pads will make the sensors go off when they need to be replaced?
No. Just the front lhd.
I would like to know all the tools and sizes required for this job, someone can help?
Ivo Lopes 17mm for wheel lugs think it’s a t25 for the disc bolt, 13 mm spanner for caliper m14 spline for caliper hanger. And of corse the wide back tool that’s for the rear just recently completed mine
Thos caliper hanger bolts were right pain in the butts took about an hour a side just cracking them 😂

cool vid
Disc can be removed without removing calliper carrier on Leon 56 1.9TDi.
Is that what he refers to as the caliper anchor bolt?
you lost my interest at 'release the pressure from the braking system'.
