I was supposed to get a school like that but it never got passed sadly
At least my current high school actually has many kinds of alarms.
In the school itself it has a different model simplex and possibly Faraday horns, a red light on the wall in the assembly gym, and a gentex commander (Maybe version 1?) in the PE gym/Lunchroom, and finally an old Simplex horn in the choir room. The annex just has Simplex horn/strobes. The portables mostly have Spectralert advance horn/strobes, but the public speaking portable has a Spectralert classic. Also for emergency lighting, some lights in the front of the school and the annex have what looks like little red “O”s in them so I am guessing those lights stay on, the rest of the school just has Dual-lite twin heads and the “LBC lighting” I think it’s called. The portables have an old dual-lite and the public speaking portable has both the old dual-lite and a newer led one. However the science one has one on the side of the room and the one next to the door has no heads but somehow has a working battery.

Oh yeah the problem at 14:10 is supposedly very common with bg 12's and its dangerous since if someone pulled it it wouldn't set of the fire alarm. Of course for newer buildings smoke detectors will trip but for older buildings it's more of a hazard

I’ve been thinking about the horns seeming out of sync. Assuming the alarms actually are in sync, it is possible that it’s the speed of sound that is causing them to sound that way. Given the speed of sound is approximately 343 m/s, and the somewhat open concept of the school, we might just be hearing the delay it takes for sound to travel

Actually I’m surprised that they are not using beam detectors for the atrium and gyms having remote key switch testing/reset capabilities. I’ve installed quite a few over the years in applications like this. It saves on the amount of smoke heads needed to cover an area/ no need for lift for testing/ and less damage from sports stuff. Basically a laser beam goes from one side to a reflector and bounces back. The unit can tell if there is smoke based on the beam pattern of light coming back. Some brands and models had a receiver on the opposite side that had to be wired in. I liked the version where all wiring and test switch was on one end. For true testing you could put a can of smoke on the end of a stick in the middle of the room or brake the beam with different levels of colored film representing different particles in the air.
