I really love this synth. I bought it dirt cheap at a Red Cross goodwill store for 10€ about 10 years ago. At first i hated the fact that there are no knobs to fiddle around, but I got to love the dynamic keyboard and the unique sounds. It´s a bit heavy and big though.
Very inspiring patches! I just pulled my broken Bit One from the garage and fixed it this week. Also recapped it too. Need to decide if I'm keeping it or not. This demo got me leaning in the keeping direction!
Keep it. It is stiil a bargain to buy så your not gona trade it with something that is its equal. And give it some time to program some patches. It's rewarding 🙂
@@No_Nag Last night I created 15 patches for it since its memory was wiped. I focused on bringing out the uniqueness of its sound instead of bread and butter stuff. Came up with things non of my many other synths can do. Very rewarding exercise! The machine has so much potential for uniqueness while also being capable of most of your common polysynth sounds. Still debating... But closer to keeping yet.
I would go for this. The DK-80 suffers from that it havnt got fully polyphonic filters. It only has 2. So it acts like a Poly800. From the start it also was intended as a cost cutting synth so much cheaper quality all over. 🙂
I have a crumar bit one, but its very noise, the patches are not sound like a youtube videos, Could it be that it is deprogrammed? or damaged? Everything seems to work, but it doesn't sound good to me, I don't know the presets sound, not all of them, what could it be? Do you have any combination of buttons or switches to reset it? Can the data be loaded again? how is it done? some information? help me thanks
I just purchased one of these for myself and im really happy with it. Just wondering if anyone could help me on a couple questions i have. Is there anyway to transpose the keyboard down an octave ?? also my bit one seems to be one tone exactly out of tune meaning that when i play a C, it comes out a D, ive tried Turning the pitch nob but it doesn't go down to the pitch i need it too. also is there a way ti initialise a preset ?
The only way alter pitch is by programing it in the patch or the pitch knob on the back. There is no init for a patch. Just have start from where it is unless you create a init your self and write from. Hope this helped. Best of luck.
NICE wooden end-caps, sir. Did you do that yourself? Lovely patches too - especially when adding in the stereo delay chase thing @ :30 and later on. Nice touch. This really is a good demo.
58TaskForce There are wav files which you can use around the web. Google it. Or if you can't find it, facebook me and might help you out but it'll take some time.
Joakim Floke ah okay thanks, Ive managed to get some sub sounds out of it but need to try and work out the rest, I know synths but this is so confusing ahaha
Blake Foster Yes, but it's a bit weird. If you plug midi in the keyboard is not in use anymore. So it becomes a soundmodule basically. You use it as a basic controller if you want. Doesn't recognize sysex either.
Errhhh... The The DCOs in the Bits generate their waveforms using a principle known as Additive Squarewave Synthesis. In simple terms, this means that the fundamental oscillator in the system generates a high frequency squarewave that is subsequently divided and divided again and divided again… The multiple squarewaves thus generated are then added in various ways to approximate the triangle-, sawtooth-, and pulse- waveforms that the synth offers. The dividing circuit has 16-bit resolution, so the numbers involved can be very accurate and the waveforms can be close approximations to the real things. But the Bits’ oscillators are far from analogue, and you could just as easily describe them as true digital oscillators rather than DCOs. /Gordon Reid

Well big it is, but you ca have it as a table and load it with other gear :) 10€ Best bargain ever!!
This synth sounds fantastic. I was watching also the Bit99. Crumar did great synths back then :) Thanks for share
The new ones (not synth) but piano/organ is also really great!!! Got a White Bit 99 that is as good as the ONE :)
great demo, beautiful patches of this unique instrument
Giba Film thanks very much!
What a cool Demo, great sounds. thanx. I think the bit one is one of the most underratet Synths. Love the sound.
Thank you :)
My first synth bought ad I was 15...😍😍😍😍😍
Yes the others are right this synth sound really quite nice.

@@No_Nag Now up to 50 patches made. Definitely keeping it. Need to wrangle up space in the studio for it again.
@@dominusthirteen8108 remember that it is mostley flat so a good surface for ex-pedals 🐱
Can i get the sysex t the patches, please?
It really sounds like P Lion - "Happy Children", those poly chords
Nice demo. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
synth sounds really sweet nice playing
white rhino thanx :)
Being that I make Italo disco this synth is perfect for that. I'm torn between buying this and a Siel DK80.

You should be able to load patches in to it again. But, if it is noise on all of your patches then there is a problem somewhere.
Wow, great Demo, great sounds, Awesome. Do you sell the Sounds? Wave dump? Thanks.
Hi! Thank you for your kind words.
Yes I can sort you out with the patches. I charge 10 euros via PayPal. If that is ok, let me know.
I would like to buy those patches from you. Especially your favourite patch that you use 8 minutes in. It’s great! Lovely demo video - thanks.
@@No_Nag can I buy these Bit One patches from you please?
I have the Bit one, stopped for 10 years, no play. To be ripareid, i am sorry, should it be repeated?
Yes, absolutly! They are getting rare and are gaining in value.
Hello. Really cool, is that the factory patches with effects?
It s a mixed bag. Some factory, some I've edit and some are my own. For effects I only use reverb and delay as the don't alter the sound to much.
I just purchased one of these for myself and im really happy with it. Just wondering if anyone could help me on a couple questions i have.

bitone or bit99 and why what are the differences?

Pete Kowalsky, Thank you for your kind words. I have a friend who makes wooden furniture, so I just had him make them.
I had a carpenter do them.
Jon carpenter?
@@annother3350 "yes' :😂
where did the wood ends come from? would love to get those for mine.
Hello!
Do you have the software required for the keyboard? The battery died and it outputs random sounds now.
58TaskForce There are wav files which you can use around the web. Google it. Or if you can't find it, facebook me and might help you out but it'll take some time.
What's the output like on this, I've just found one but don't have my monitors on me, I take it there is no built in speaker?
No speakers. 2 lineouts but its not stereo.
Joakim Floke ah okay thanks, Ive managed to get some sub sounds out of it but need to try and work out the rest, I know synths but this is so confusing ahaha
Hamish Woolley just use one output until you've figured it out :)
Is it possible to use this in a midi setup?
Blake Foster Yes, but it's a bit weird. If you plug midi in the keyboard is not in use anymore. So it becomes a soundmodule basically. You use it as a basic controller if you want. Doesn't recognize sysex either.
I have a midi setup with a Linn 9000, I've heard it's Omni only, so I guess you cant set the MIDI channel?
No, you can have it to just recive on channel one. Or put it in omni mode..
How do you change that? also I heard someone say use a midi filter?
At the moment I actually don't know. But the manual is online in PDF if you want to download it. Just google it :)
Pure digital oscillators? It's DCO, DCO is analog.
