Oh yeah, the car is so intense, on the jumps you hold your breath and if something gets sketchy you have your eyes wide open in fear of crashing, it's incredibly immersive and the guys back then doing it IRL on an even more difficult and bumpy track is crazy to imagine
I've already loved the car in AC. Because of that it was one of the first I bought in iRacing many years ago but never really liked it there. But luckily this year the car was massively improved and now I love it as well and can't stop racing in it.
This is quite the accomplishment really. These things are wild to drive and let's us know how absolutely insane these guys were back in the 60a and 70s. Your driving the 49 fast, I don't know where you find that grip? Your either rotating the car like a god or... nice
@@MixedRealitySimRacing thanks, the Index is a very nice headset. I spent some time with one doing back to back to back experience with that and my Pimax 5k+. They're both really fantastic headsets. 👌👌
I had a Pimax 8K X for a few weeks but sadly couldn't live with the distortion, comfort and sound quality. Would like to have an Index V2 with improved resolution, fov and eye tracking.
@@MixedRealitySimRacing I had thought about the 8kx but the refresh rates and some of the complaints early on kept me from buying one since I wasn't exactly slumming it with my 5k+ haha. I'd love to see an Index v2 with a high FOV while retaining a high refresh rate.
Already the first couple of downshifts were with rev matching, no idea what you mean. Yes I'm using an H-pattern shifter. Maybe it's not so obvious because the car has a dog box and can shift quickly without clutch like a sequential.
Ah I know why, the video and sound seem not perfectly in sync, the rev matching is sometimes visible on the pedal HUD but not in the right moment of the sound.
VR really adds to the sense of speed in these cars. It gives you a much greater appreciation for the guys who drove them in person. Good stuff.

So nice to have you back, Marcel - and in my favorite car of all time too.... [:]-)

Nice proper F1 (as in wingless) action on The Ring, Marcel
What a riot. Nicely done!
1st setup, where you can fell the speed. Super!
This guy in front of you drives like on raw eggs. :D
I’ll be a happy chappy when I can get two clean laps in succession here.
sehr nice ich finde die autos auch cool, schön schwer zu fahren^^
finally update
Thanks for the ride, looks like you had a blast! 😁👍 (which headset?)

Hi, wie geht's?
Gut, danke. Und dir?
@@MixedRealitySimRacing auch gut, ich liebe deine Videos, mach weiter so 👍🏻
Danke

Zero rev matching. We’re you even using a shifter?
Already the first couple of downshifts were with rev matching, no idea what you mean. Yes I'm using an H-pattern shifter. Maybe it's not so obvious because the car has a dog box and can shift quickly without clutch like a sequential.
Seems like the HUD is both not picking up when I lift to shift up and blip to shift down even though I'm doing it and it can be heard, weird thing.
Ah I know why, the video and sound seem not perfectly in sync, the rev matching is sometimes visible on the pedal HUD but not in the right moment of the sound.
Another reason why it's barely visible is because the engine needs very little throttle input to rev up
