You should check out "Caught", danced by Jaime Martinez, David Parsons choreography, music by Robert Fripp. From about TWENTY years ago. It's a solo piece that uses xenon strobes, triggered by a control in the dancer's hand. Totally breathtaking to see live. Sadly, the only video I know of, ruclips.net/video/HLRbY8CYaUQ/видео.html was made with a fast shutter speed, unsynchronized with the strobe, so you can't see much of the performance 😥 too bad; it's the most awe inspiring piece of dance I've ever seen

This has to be one of the most amazing live visual shows I've seen in my whole life
I have never seen anything like this before and when I started to watch, I was so mesmerized and in awe of there show and people in the comments talking about the mother and her kid making noise, I didn't even notice it when I was watching. Sometimes when you watch such amazing shows like this, you have to watch the actual show while it is going on and ignore or just put the situation out of your mind and fix youself and your mind on the most amazing, fantastic, and the most beautiful and hipnotic show that is right in front of you, and you will absolutelly enjoy it. This is just my opinion and what I myself have done with alot of situations like this!

You see those bright lights that flash in the background, those are used to make it appear a lot darker for the audience. These performers can see fine, their eyes are adjusted to the light and they shield them when the lights flash.

I heard that they have a little red led in their back, not sure about this.

Dancing requires a lot of hard work and discipline especially if you’re aiming to attain a certain perfection level.. It’s always a pleasure to watch various dance forms!

this group is amazing. the person that is control of the lighting really has to have good timing withe tha dancers and visa versa. this group has good timing on their moves and the light effects. good job.
I used to dance back when I was in middle school and high school, and I remember watching this video and it made me feel so happy, I'm a college student now and going through some tough times and this video just makes me feel so good, reminds me of good times! I feel like I come back to this video every few years! Absolutely love it!

11 years later and this is still one of the best dance routines ive ever seen. Imagine this was a talent contest, with multiple other teams and this was jabbas opening act. If i were other teams, id just wanna go home with my dignity still intact 😂😂😂😂

Wowowowow what incredible use of dark and light to create the illusion of digital manipulation!!! Just so amazing! The dancing was so cool, it had to be, because the effects wouldn't have held up as interesting if it weren't. Until everyone showed up on stage I couldn't tell how many there were because they kept jumping around and it was just so cool! Even though the trick is obvious, it doesn't stop your mind from interpreting it as the illusion!
A ton of respect for teh person who choreographed this and the performers. it had to be a hard routine to learn.
Was distracted by that one person constantly saying "wow!" every other second.

Me and my friends wanted to do this so bad. We taped glow sticks to ourselves and tried to choreograph a dance and it did not turn out as well as this but it was still such a fun memory for me ❤️

Seeing this makes me so proud of where the technology has gone. When I brought electroluminescence to Hollywood the displays had to be stamped out and then a huge discovery revolutionized the creation of this technology allowing it to be sprayed out onto a substrate with lasers.
As someone who has danced and acted on a normal, fully-lighted stage, I can't even imagine how much practice goes into putting together such complicated dance choreography in a completely dark stage.
