I never really wore respirators when I was in my late teens and twenties. My lungs aren't great anymore. I'm glad you push this potential danger.

This review is EXCELLENT. I would recommend this overview to anyone considering a purchase or use of a Dremel.

Great video. Those wire wheels send micro wires flying everywhere, so be SURE you have eye protection and DO NOT use them anywhere indoors where you don't want wire splinters everywhere. With the cut-off wheels, be sure you don't lean over the tool and have your face in the 'plane of rotation' as those wheels fly apart easily.

I was a fan of Dremel tools for years. Until, a few years back when I lent an oldie but great old Dermel. Never getting it back, I bought a new one. Well, in less than 3 months, maybe 30 minutes of light use, it smoked. Seeing it still looked new, and only 1 cutting disk was used, I tried to return it to HD and was told Dermel would repair it, Hmm Calling Dermel I was told HD would replace it. After telling her I tried, I was told O-well. I told her about the oldie I had, she stated, that was when we made them here in the US, but now they are made in Mexico. She then said, if I want to buy a new 4300, she would send me a 10% coupon. It still cost me well over a $100. I will never buy another. I rather spend way less, get better, and buy a new one when it burns up. The 4300 runs really hot after 4, 5 minutes of uses and at times I need to unplug it and put it outdoors.

The Dremel really is a "power" tool without the Bosch QC IMO. Always hated how expensive and plasticky/expendable a lot of the accessories are.
Had a chance to try out a Proxxon, and never looked back. The Proxxon felt more refined and really is a precision tool that rotary tools like Dremel at that price should be.
I'd say the accessories are also better than whatever butter Dremel sells.

I had a Chinese tacklife deremel clone tool, with the same tips, same disks, same everything and I use it for cutting and polishing and drilling with great satisfaction.
19€ on Amazon some years ago.
Another 2 followed this one, parkside brand this time, the first one for light works (19€), and the second with a removable battery and a handled suitcase with accessories and extra tools for 49€: unstoppable

I use a rotor zip for anything heavy duty. The majority of cutting, grinding, and sanding mandrel will fit and it's so much more powerful. Finally get a pedal speed control from harbor freight for like 40 bucks and you'll have much more control. U may never use a dremel again

The older gen cordless Dremel tools used the Bosch green series 12V batteries. The new generation Dremels aren't compatible with all of the Bosch 12V batteries either: the "foot" of the larger batteries blocks them from connecting fully to at least 8250/8260.
Dremel is owned by Bosch but they operate more or less independently from the parent company

I've definitely taken a few rotary 60 grit sanding bands to the arm or hand going thousands of RPMs lol. The EZ lock dremel cut off wheels are really good but are pricey so im looking for something that could potentially fit the ez lock mandrel.

People need a real mask with N95 or P100 filters for a lot of things done with All "Dremel," grinders or cutter. Many things don't have Lead now but still be poison or cause cancer. Even things are safe as a whole part when grinding/cutting then you breath micro particles causes big heath problems.
Wire wheels have most problems when they spin too fast and not just tiny "Dremel" ones. Always start them at slow speeds to find the "sweet spot" when they work without stalling the motor and yes, let wire tips do the job.
Leave Drum Sander's screw loose when not used to allow the rubber to relax to Original shape to make very easy to put new bands on them.

Bosch owned the original Dremel brand at some point, I thought they sold them to some other tool company, but maybe not, which is why the Bosch batteries fit the newer ones. 🤷‍♂

Dremel has been owned by Bosch since the 90's I believe. The older gen cordless Dremel tools used the Bosch green series 12V batteries.
The Bosch green series is a cheap DIY grade series that's somewhat popular in Europe
